Gtalk Video Chat not working please help

I definitely trieed google search and ofcourse seen other related topics i found in XDA.
I didnt find any solution ( or may be i missed one)
My dad bought a New Galaxy R and software version is 2.3.5 so obviously its a GingerBread.
I do not have Video and Voice chat features enabled in the (G)TALK.
I own a Nexus one (Rooted) and no issues with it.
Because my Dad's Galaxy R is NOT Rooted, how do i enable the video/audio chat ?

Use vtok its free and good app available in market for free

Yes i tried the Vtok and it was working but it supports ONLY VIDEO chat unlike Gtalk which supports both TEXT and VIDEO.
For the time being i installed Fring on my dad's mobile.
I just wanted to know if Gtalk needs any extra settings in Galaxy R.
I Am familiar with Nexus One and other Custom Roms, but this touch Wiz seems litle ODD for me.
Is it the GALAXY R issue that the VIDEO chat is disabled ?

galaxy r issue my frnd samsung pblm. In galaxy note and s2 no pblm. u can try skype its better and its free

If the phone is rooted, try installing InfectedROM v1:

Apart from having audio/video calling, it has the advantage of being free of samsung's bloatware. I have used it for a few weeks without any problem.

thanks for the replying, is there any alternative for getting Gtalk video.

If use infected rom means by default u will get gtalk viedo call so nicely

After flash try wiping cache and dalvik cache.

Skype video call finally working on Samsung galaxy sl gti9003(links)

Hi guys finally back and front camera is working and video call is going awesome on the firmware
DDKp2/ddkp3 (rooted) simply install the patched skype and update it !!!! Enjoy !!

Caller can't see my vid. Tried With both cameras.
Edit - Just read 2nd post. Says front cam only.
Anyway not working with front cam. I tried with both.

The person on the other side must also have a camera. install the patched version and then update it via market!

What? Yea he has. I can see his vid. He can't see mine.
Whoa! Update? Wouldn't there be an error?
And even if there isn't, wouldn't it mean installing market one itself when we update?

Market Skype will only update apk not Skype library files so,new market Skype would be running old patched library files!
If there is a further problem send me your kenral and rom details!

The caller can see your video?

if you want a tested and working version of skype for 9003 just googling a file called Skypev13ogl.apk
this is not last version but the one before, and this has a patch for rotating issue.

Yes, I have tested between my i9003 and a iPhone 3GS. And the guy with the iPhone can see me. Not tested yet with a computer, but I think it doesn't change.

I have used that. Atleast the video calling worked for me unlike others, but had rotating issue.
And now if i'm trying to use it, it fcs and then wifi stops working. Wifi error. Same with market skype.
Only this skype works, though the caller cant see my video

Which rom are u on whatz your kenral??

Instagram 4.0 - New video feature

I'm on the latest CyanogenMod 4.2.2 (20130619 - nightlies) and every time I try to shoot a video I get the following error message : "Cannot connect to Camera". Anyone tried the new Instagram video feature and is it working for you? Thanks for your info.

i'm on live note rom 5.2 and when i try to take a vid with instagram, the note totally freezes with bright display as long as i hit power+home to reboot.
So this is not an instagram issue but has to do with the rom
hopefully the dev of livenote will get this working.

the modded one works fine on ultimate rom i can play video and upload one. but after the update from playstore it started to freeze and i need to restart my phone to be able to use it.

Same issue for me on CM10.1 but the front facing cam works fine and on Stock JellyBean when I tried to capture video it restarted my phone.

Google Play Store :good:

Google play store instagram doesn't work on cm 10.1 ROMs though. Won't record videos.

Where do you get the modded one? Thanks for your info.

I'm on the latest stock LT4 room with philz kernel. I'm unable to use this app. When I try to record using the rear camera, the phone reboots. The front camera works though.

Exactly the same problem for me. I am on LT6 Sweetrom V9, stock kernel. Reaaaally annoying. I heard, that S4 users face it too.

My girlfriend has stock s4, everything works fine.
I found out that i could take Video with Front facing cam, but thats ****

Tested it on n8000 and faced the following problems:
1) Random crashes that auto reboots the device
2) Video recording has no sound
3) The most annoying bug which is not being able to use the headset mic
Apart from that everything is great. Im sorry to report these bugs here but for some reason I'm not allowed to post a reply in the development section. I hope you can see this post but i doubt it cuz its not in the main topic. @iofthestorm

[Q] Cm 11 And Samsung Galaxy App

Firstly, i'm not a newbie. Simple question, has ANYONE SUCCESSFULLY been able to use the galaxy market app with Cm 11? i would like to download apps but i cant it to work. i've downloaded the few apk files in the various threads on xda but i'm not sure how or where to get more. iv'e been reading and through trial and error i've got gear manager connected and working but i'm stuck. point me in the right direction or let me know if it's impossible at this point. thanks in advance.

Sorry to sidetrack, but how did you get gear manager to work correctly? I'm using CM11 on my Nexus 7 and I've gotten nothing but the infinite Connecting to Gear loop.

Start from scratch, meaning delete anything gear related from ur phone that u have installed then follow the steps from this post.
