In LGLockScreen.apk there are references to either quick window or folio. For the clock you can see where the overlay for the buttons is defined.

The weather app also has some mention
<string name="widget_weather_class_name">com.lge.sizechangable.weather.layout.WeatherQuickCover</string>
As well as the music app.

I have been very busy with work lately... I'm hoping to get a change to dig into the lockscreen apk To figure out where the other apps are being hooked in.if anyone is good with smali it may be beneficial to look at the framework.jar file in the framework. Any help is always appreciated

Hey, anyone with a quickwindow case that is willing to test for me, please let me know. It may require knowledge of how to backup and uninstall apps with titanium backup or adb. PM me if interested. Thank you.

Just FYI...anyone can spoof the quickwindow switch with a magnet. Approx 1.5" down from upper left corner of screen. A fridge magnet works.
That said, I'm holding off a bit until I root this beyotch. Want to use up my 14 day grace period waiting on the Nexus 5 and also to make sure my particular G2 doesn't develop any infant mortality issues or anything. I anticipate being all in and rooted next week.

As usual I got impatient... I'm rooted, backed up, and running CleanROM 1.0

Hi
I have an official G2 Quickwindow case for my G2. I'm really impressed and happy with it. But there is this annoying feature that I would like to disable.
When the screen cover is flipped closed while the screen is on,the phone goes to'quickwindow' mode. I know it's an in built feature but I would prefer the screen turning off when the cover is flipped close.
Disabling the quickwindow case under 'accessories' will not cut it as I want the screen to turn on when the case is opened and the quickwindow mode activated when the screen is gestured on while cover is closed.
I'm free to any options. Do help me if you can! Thanks! ?
Cheers

In sure you noticed this already but the screen does turn off just 5 seconds later, so it doesn't stay on the normal screen timeout period..

True, but it's annoying when.you accidentally lift the cover slightly or use the phone often. Any way around this? I'm guessing a mod?

I am in utter agreement.

Perhaps not an ideal solution, but if you freeze or delete all three LG widgets used on the QuickWindow screen, the cover will behave as you request.
The apps are called "music widget", "clock widget", and "weather widget".
You will lose the lock screen clock, but that's easy to fix with a store clock widget.

right ive opened up the apk theres no relevent png's so i guess the colours etc are in xml's how do i set it to transparent and move it to bottom of screen?
I know it's not what you want to hear, but...
You could purchase Folder Organizer (paid app by the same dev). It has same functionality but with more options, like changing the backgrounds of the folders, changing app icons, and you can add shortcuts, contacts, bookmarks, etc to folders.
Just a suggestion. It's the best app I've ever bought, and the couple of bucks has to be worth the time of changing the xml files.
Sorry I couldn't offer a better answer, but if you want to just change Apps Organizer I'm sure you need to figure out where the values are in the xml & change it accordingly.
Sent from my badass HTC Supersonic (Evo 4g) using XDA Premium App
Folder Organizer uses the panel_background.9.png file from the system framework res drawables folder. That's why it's not in the apk. In order to change the look, you have replace this file with the modded panel_background.9.png file you want to use in your framework.apk. However, because you're modding the panel_background.9 file, it will be like this for ANY apk that also accesses this 9.png file. But that's what you need to do if you really want to mod the backgound to have sharp corners.
I can't find it under root explorer

The short answer is no
The long answer (and not 100% accurate) is that apps report their sharing to a manifest then android arranges them. So yeah you can change it if you REALLY REALLY want to, but if you have to ask the question then it would take you hours.
I personally look forward to a simply way of editing it myself.

yes you can, It can only be done on a custome rom (or root stock) but has to be done before flashing it you have to naivagte to the system\customize\CID\default.xml file navigate towards the bottom and look for the
section. under the <set name="single"> you have to put the com.xxxxx.xxxx name for the app. It will look something like this
Code:

<module name="ShareVia">
<function name="settings">
<set name="single">

7

5

4

1

</set>
</function>
</module>

the higher the number will make it higher on the list.
Hope that helps
Thanks!!!
How does it work in general; does using an app increase the number between reboots or what?
I mean, can I use as big number as I want without any harm? For instance, Gmail = 99 and Messages = 98, in order to keep those two always at the top?

[App][v1.1]Popup Browser Invoker

Hey fellow XDA friends,
As we know that popup browser is added in stock JB roms but there is no way to launch it from launcher but only by clicking links.So I have made an app with the help of Gamma(my fellow dev) that will launch the stock popup browser with www.google.com as the home page.The app currently works perfect on Note and I expect it to work on all JB TW roms.But since I only have Note N7000 with me,I'm unable to test it on any other device running JB.Those having other phone running JB based TW roms can test it and report me
This is my first app I have ever written for android and I want it to be open source and have uploaded the sources tof course there isnt much big in the source as it only calls the Stock popup browser.But still Its my will to make all my work(more in future) opensource
This app works only on JB based TW roms.That means it wont work on AOSP or AOKP like CM10 and CM10 based roms etc..This is because There is no Popup browser on Roms built from sources like CM10.And this app is not a standalone popup browser app.It only invokes the stock popup browser already present in our JB roms...
Installation instruction:
1.Download the app v1.1 here
2.Install it as normal app or push it into /system/app with permission rw-r-r
Everyone are free to include this app in there roms without asking prior permission as long as credits are given .Please do press thanks if you use this app
Thanks to Gamma for helping me build my first app
Source-Update will be uploaded soon
Code:
Change log:
1. Added support for android 4.2.
2. Removed toast for those who don't like it.
Remove old app if you have before installing v1.1.Or else you will get signature conflict
because the signature is changed as I lost my old key store :silly:
Seems good installed fine and it works.

don't forget to keep a copy of the original, just in case you want to go back.

hi,
I saw Chrack's post, but this is one I changed before you started your thread, you might have noticed the browser headers are darker than the stock version, I've also changed the icon.
if anyone wants to resize it, just need to edit the dimens.xml in res/values folder, "main_body_width" & "main_body_height" are the 1st two lines to edit.
I noticed the mw_window_mode_resize.png in drawable-hdpi folder. so it looks like it should be resizable, but it's beyond my skills atm to figure out how to activate it. tho, there is a new build on its way, xxls3, hopefully it will work in that build?

Help modifying Skype orientation mode

Hi. I'm new to this forum and I hope I can be precise and clear.
The new update of Skype forces us to use the app in landscape mode, which is kind of annoying. Searching on Google, I found that there are mainly two ways to force the app to keep portrait mode: using another app to control orientation or modifying this setting in Androidmanifest.xml file. I went for the second option.
Then, following a first tutorial (with apktools) , I was able to decompile the Skype apk, and add android:screenOrientation="portrait" to the XML file, as you can see in the pic, and recompile it. The problem is that when I tried to reinstall Skype using the modified apk, I got the error "application not installed", as you can see below.
Following a second tutorial (using apktools) , I decompiled the apk, added android:screenOrientation="portrait" to Androidmanifest.xml but when I tried to recompile I got the error "invalid resource directory name" (check out the print screen).
Any solutions? Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.

Edit: I was able to install the modified apk but it still opens as landscape...
