my device is not rooted

Hello dany00711,
Well, first of all I want to say something! Please learn to spell correcty, and do you know the meaning of the word grammar?
But I will try to help you. So you can't install the latest firmware for the Xperia E single? Allright. Can you send me the link from where you downloaded the stock .ftf? Maybe it's a incorrect or corrupt file! Please do that, and try to flash again with Flashtool. You don't need any drivers installed for flashing! Only the Flashmode and Fastboot drivers. I know you did this, but check it. and try again. Meanwhile please send the link.
Have a nice day!

this file is Stock Kernel Xperia E C1505_11.3.A.2.23.ftf 5.6 MB i have all this drivers installed but still not works it show me always your device is not recognized

Dude... It is a firmware... A firmware can't fit into 5.1 MB...
Here you have a proper .ftf file: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8naZAFW2NP3NEJERTZ3aTZJbTg/edit?pli=1. It's 392 MB, that's a proper size for a firmware file! Download, put in in in the Firmwares folder in Flashtool. And just flash it with Flashtool. Many tutorials are circling the internet, so it is very easy.
And make sure to install the the Flashmode and Fastboot drivers again.
Cheerios. Hope it works!

Before I help you any further, do you know the meaning of the word punctuation? Please, try to make proper sentences, because it makes it a lot easier to read your post, and to understand the problem you are facing!
So, have you followed everything in this tutorial? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240614
Just try it oncemore, and if you keep failing to flash, then it's time to use another computer. Perhaps from a friend, or a borther/sister. If this still isn't working, then I'm out of options. Perhaps other people might know other things to do, but we'll see!
Goodluck! And check this site: http://www.wikihow.com/Use-English-Punctuation-Correctly.
Nah, kidding I'm just messing with you!

It says that I have to be on rooted 7.5 FW to get 4.1.2 rooted. As I understand I have to downgrade first to get rooted... but how? Can anyone please give me a hint how to do this and to get hold of the FW needed?

You need to download flashtool from here: http://androxyde.github.com/index.html?1363522362000
then 7.5 ics firmware here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2150578 then root it with unlockroot
then install clockworkmod recovery here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003069 install 6.1 for j NOTE there is no CWM for jb with locked bootloader yet. Then follow the tutorial for root jb for locked bootloader.
Allright!
If I´m supposed to use Flashtool, can I use this instead? I still want to use 4.1.2 but with root so I can modify and delete bloatware...

Is it the *.ftf i´m supposed to flash? It´s the prerooted 4.1.2 I really don´t need CWM for my purposes

I´m in the process to download everything right now.
1: I make sure flashtool works with drivers and so on
2: I install (flash) the 7.5 firmware with flashtool? Just like that?
3: I root the 7.5 firmware with unlocktool
4: I install CWM with the *.batfiles included
5: I follow the link to flash and root instructed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181640
Is this the correct way to do it?

Yeah.Put it in firmwares folder of flashtool for easier locating of the .ftf, then start Flashtool, select the lightning icon on the left, Flashmode should be selected, press OK, find the fw from the left side(assuming you've already put it in the firmwares folder where flashtool is located), and press OK on the bottom there.Wait up, wait for flashtool to say to connect phone in flashmode(Make SURE you have drivers installed first), and wait for it to finish up.It might get stuck on some %, like 84,94, etc don't worry. it will continue.

yep, just make sure you use this version:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003069
the 6.1 for J.root your phone with unlockroot first, reboot it, and then apply this .bat.make sure usb debugging and unknown sources in security are ticked, too.
there are graphics issues, but it works.
Well... something is not right... see screenshot.
It starts but the it states that there´s an error. Any ideas?

also if you have skype, post your ID and we can solve this faster.
make sure you're connecting the phone WHEN IT SAYS TO, not before that.

try doing what i said, make sure you turn off the phone, remove battery, put battery back after 5 seconds, prepare the files for flashing, and plug the phone in flashmode WHEN THE PROGRAM instructs you to.I've found this to be a problem with the tipo too.Although it was fixable by replacing a loader.sin, but im not sure if there's a loader.sin for the J, i wouldnt experiment also with putting one from the tipo.Try what i suggested, plug the phone when flashtool instructs you too.volume down, remember

Flashed rooted 4.1.2 with CWM and it worked... took out battery and started Flashtool. Started phone with vol- and it started to flash. But it´s stuck at 3%...

Soft bricked Tipo

Hi there,
1. I am fed up of my Tipo's lagging touch (responding after half an hour, miscaliberation). I update the firmware using Sony companion and tried to install one of the Jelly Bean roms on the stock ICS using CMW. It some how soft bricked my phone. Can any one tell the reason?
2. With lot of effort I installed the stock ST21a 11.0.A.4.22 Sony Generic kernel (using Flashtool). It is same laggy and miscaliberating. Did I not reformat, similar to PC? shouldn't it be fresh and new ?
3. I am not trying to install JB rom. What is the correct way to install? Should I worry about any seperate parts like Kernel?
4. To install JB rom (Paranoid Android) I tried to root the device, but the flash tool says "no root exploit for this version". If i cant root. I cant install CMW. I cant install frest rom. Is there any other way to install ROM?
I am stuck in the above points after my research, and will appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance

Yeah, but those two have the same effect. Repairing with PC Companion is exactly the same as flashing a .ftf. And if that didn't work, PC Companion won't.

[Q] Not able to repair brick on m2 2302

Hi everybody!
I'm rather new here and I need help.
I think I soft bricked my device. After getting my unlock code from Sony, I unlocked it via adb. So far so good. After that I installed CWM and a zip. After that I couldn't boot my phone. I've tried everything. Used Flashtool to flash a firmware for my model to make it work again. Unfortunately, after the flashing was done, I ha got another issue. The Sony logo just pops up, goes out, pops up and so on... No I can't access even recovery mode anymore, even though I have a unlocked bootloader...
Can you guys please help me? I'm just 13 and my parents aren't really happy about what I did to my new fancy phone.
I appreciate it, thanks.

[TUT] Root Xperia M2 & M2 Aqua in KitKat 4.4.4 (Locked and Unlocked Bootloaders)

Hello there!
Many of you requested a video on how to root the Xperia M2 (and M2 Aqua), with a step by step procedure, so here it is!
LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9x7AY7o2gU
All the tools needed are in the video description, and I will try to answer all your questions both in the Youtube comments or here in this post.
Happy Easter and enjoy root!
(and sorry for my english )
Nice tutorial but Im having a little problem.
Today I was trying to root my M2 Aqua (D2403) with your old tutorial and now I tried with this again.
So, the problem is that when I flash JB kernel the phone turn on normally, not in bootloop then root xperia toolkit doesnt work.
Also tried with only ftf kernel of another thread and turned on in bootloop but flashtool and root xperia tool kit doesnt recognize the phone, maybe drivers?
I had problem installing the drivers on Windows 8.1 but worked in flashmode.
Thanks for tutorial and help.
Good tutorial! I think this will help people who have problems rooting their phone

First, you installed the drivers with driver signature check turned off right? (From advanced reboot in windows..)
I think you might try as I did in the video, I mean, when preparing the phone, connect yours (while still in KK, still haven't flashed the JB kernel) and then open flashtools and check if you have any warning of adb. If so, hit REMEMBER (very important STEP) and then hit OK. This is because while in JB there's no screen so you cannot accept that petition. That's the reason.
After done that, try with THIS kernel. I know some people used it and it worked. Flash it, boot your device, wait for about 5 minutes, connect your phone and open the RootXperiaToolkit. Let's see if it works now

Yes, I installed with signature check off. I used drivers from Flashtools 1.5
Also checked remember adb warning and I guess its weird, when I flashed using full rom the phone turn on and initiliaze normally as if I had not flashed the old kernel.
The kernel I told get bootloop is that you posted now.
I did exactly as on video but when phone is in bootloop the Root Xperia Toolkit doesnt recognize it and Flashtools(opened just to check) say the drivers arent installed.
I will try in another OS, thanks. :good:

[Resolved] needing help with a philips android phone

Hi everyone,
After being guest for a long time here i decided to register to ask for help.
But first, I want to thank everyone here for the very useful info cuz I revived my old phone and tweaked it a lil thanks to XDA guides. Thank u everyone.
Well. To the business.
I have now a Philips s388_m6582k dual sim smartphone and I did a hard reset due to apps laggin and other problems. But after it rebooted, the 1st use wizard works til a part where it forces closes and stop working. Then the screen stays black and does nothing. I can use the notification area and go to the settings, but I can't make it is to the android desktop aka launcher. I want to try to flash it with the stock ROM to see if I can revive it, but I don't have it and also don't know if it will restore the phone to it's default status as if it were new.
Plz, give me a hand to fix it. Also if I shutdown or reboot the phone from that black screen, it goes boot loop. The phone was rooted before the hard reset. What I can do now? I need to use it.
hope anyone reply me soon.
thnks in advice.
Download your stock ROM and flash using sp tool I think you know how.(If you don't know how just ask) and yes you will get your phone to default version
But if you're flashing your stock ROM do keep in mind that all your data will be lost,so do a backup

note that the rom that i need is for the dual sim version of this phone. and i need it on spanish, due to where im located (chile).
so, if u dont mind on helping... :good:
also i found that there are 2 versions of the rom when i searched for it.

Well you don't need to install drivers on windows PC unless your phone can't be recognised. Where are you having trouble in sp ? It's the easiest way to flash stock firmware.

well, i open it, i select scatter, then what i do?
i mean, how i do have to connect the phone?
what mode?
volume up+power: recovery
volume down+power: factory test
as i know, the phone shoulda enter a download mode. so the problem is on how i have to connect the phone.
Just extract the zip file for your firmware open sp flash tool ,select scatter loading and browse through the extracted zip file to see android scatter.txt ,just click download on the tool and connect your powered off phone to PC through USB after and wait for the confirmation.
Here's the your phones driver http://gsmusbdriver.com/philips-s388 with tutorial for install BTW.

Just click download in the tool and then turn off your phone completely (no mode) then plug it through USB wait for success notification.
PS first boot take some time 10-15 min maybe

well, i tried to do as u said, but when i connect the phone, it does nothing. just start charging (the battery icon appears) then goes stand-by.
also, SP flash tool does nothing when i press download. this is, after selecting the scatter. windows doesn't seems to recognize it.
so,
what i can do?
PD: also, here are some screenshots of what the phone does if i turn it on.
the setup wizard starts, then i can go on til it crashes.
anyways, i can swipe the notification/status bar and open settings. but the setup wizard never finishes and i cant get to the launcher/desktop to use it. no matter if there is a sim/sdcard.
so thats why i got the idea of reflash it to fix this problem.
i atacched some screenshots.
PD2: i forgot to mention that, if i try to shutdown/restart it, it goes to bootloop.

do i have to remove the battery or not?
EDIT: after various attemps, i found a videotutorial on how to fix this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMqUdrsfxbw
and i found what was going wrong. it was the sp flash tool version.
i downloaded the same version as shown on the video and did the same as the video and....
VOILE!!! it worked!!! YAY!! n.n
but now, the only thing that i still have to do, is to get a rom with spanish, cuz i dont want it on english.
but at least, i fixed the main problem.
so here are my thanks.
so, now i need the spanish rom. can u help me to get it?
by now, i learned how to use sp flash tool. thnk u so much n.n
edit: the rom must be android 4.4.2
when I have the ROM in Spanish, this issue can be taken for closed and solved.
thanks in advance.
edit 2: hope this thread can be helpful and used by other users to solve this issue on this phone.

thnks for reply.
well, i cant change the language to spanish.due to the fact that the rom dont have the language included. it only includes english, vietnamit, russian, korean, chinese and japanese. so thats why i need the rom including spanish.
about the country...
i dont care about it. i just care about the rom having spanish included. the original one had english, portuguese and spanish. maybe it was the one located for argentina or latin america. but anyways, as i said, the country/locale isnt important.
thnks in advance. :good:
hope u can help me to find the rom. i already made a search, but no luck. there is a jellybean rom, but the phone runs kitkat 4.4.2 as it was the stock system and the 4.2 one is for the single sim version. and the dual sim version that i found with kitkat dont have the spanish included.
waiting for ur reply.

can't find the Spanish ROM either.
Stick with the English version or a custom ROM like cm12(this is lollipop and is released for your phone ) I recall cm12 having espanol language.
