Thought on some cases. - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

I work in a really dirty environment so I have to have a good case to protect my phone. I have a Ballistic Aspira on my S4 right now. The case is great but diets sticks to the rubber something fierce. I had both an otterbox commuter and a trident aegis for my S3 and they held up well. The otterbox seems to hold dirt while the trident didn't. Anyone out there have either a commuter or an aegis? If so how does it hold up to dirt and grime. Also if anyone has a defender, how does the outside silicone hold up? Thanks!

I had the commuter on mine for a few months and I work at a body shop (dirt everywhere) and the commuter would get a little dirty on the rubber but would clean pretty easily. But it let a decent amount of dirt in the case (not as bad as other cases I have had) but I know from experience that dirt will wear the crap out of the finish of the phone. I now have the obex and it stays clean for the most part but the holes for the sensors, spekers, camera and IR hole build up with dirt. A little water and a q-tip and its clean again. And no dirt gets inside the case..

Pretty much every case with silicone is going to have dirt stick to it. I have both the aegis and the commuter and theyre both nice cases. Dirt seems to stick less to the commuter tho.
Hit thanks if I helped you out. Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.

Invest in the sedio obex case. Dustproof waterproof and shockproof. I tested and record a video of my son under the water. About 2 feet under. Best overall protection

I've had good luck with the incipio dual pro, often working out with it and getting sweat/chalk all over it with no problems.

Hi, I purchased the SPIGEN Slim Armor case for my s4 and it is a beast! I don't mean in size but the durability on this thing is just solid for a cheap case. It does not protect your screen like an otter box does, but everything all around... If you face the phone down it has a couple of cm so the screen is not touching the surface of your table or w.e. I have a zigs screen protector for my front and my phone is in prestige condition. They are like 25 bucks on their site but I used amazon and got them for 13.99.

Hi...even i use slim armor for my SG S4.. my only concern is about the dirt which accumulates on the back panel which results in scratches when using a back cover. .by any chance do you know how to overcome this??

Don't like case. I just use a clear scratch resistant screen protector
The silicone case they sell at T-Mobile. Can't stand tpu's, or snap cases. I've have bought like 10 different cases and the only one that really fits my phone and completely covers the bezel is the one from T-Mobile. All my tpu's look good but don't cover all bezel. The snap case is just stupid, it breaks even with a small drop. And I don't think I'd ever have the balls to use my phone without a case. Especially in high-school. One drop and hello big a$$ crack on the beautiful screen.

I originally used the low quality TPU cases. High quality ones are obviously more expensive, but those cover better and are also easier to press.
I now use a Trident Aegis. Took me forever to put on the first time (rebooted my phone 5 times), but now I'm a pro at it. I love the protection, but I hate that it's so much thicker than the TPU case. It does make the phone feel more sturdy though.
Otter box. I have dropped my phone so many times with this cover and it hasn't had any damage.

I'm partial to the hard rubber i9000 cases, like below.
They're thin, look decent, snap right on and protect the phone from a small fall. It protects the glass minimally with like a 1mm buffer if you lay it down on a flat surface.
They wear out quick (the rubber coating stuff wears off), but at $1.20 a case (including shipping) on ebay they are disposable.
I order like four at a time. I like the black, orange and red.

Otterbox commuter

I just received my Otterbox commuter case. It seems like a great case made very well. Worth the $42 which includes shipping and tax. It's a two piece case, thick rubber with a hard plastic exoskeleton and it comes with a screen protector. It fits nice and snug, all holes are in the right spot and it will protect that nice camera that sticks out of our phone. I work in a body shop and take my phone with me on my quad so I need something durable but I don't want anything too big. I feel this is the perfect case for me.

The Galaxy S3 case looked great but the buttons were nearly impossible to press with zero feedback. It was also very slippery. How are those items on this version?
The design looks like the buttons should work better.
The buttons work great. No problem. It feels great, slick enough to slide out of the pocket but not too slick to slide out of your hand
Edit: my fingers do hit the lip at the bottom pressing the home button and soft keys but it's not horrible. I prefer the protection nyself. You can still hit those buttons without any problems

The Commuter IMHO has always been better than the Defender.
Unless you must have to have a holster.
IMHO the biggest flaw in the Defender for S4 is the cover for the USB charging port. It creates a bulge in the bottom of the surrounding rubber. The Commuter has hard plastic on the outside, I've always liked that better. The only Commuter case I did not like was for the Note2.
This case is even better than the one for the S3 which had ridiculously hard resistance on button actuation. There is more resistance than say a TPU case or Speck Candyshell, but it's not hateful. The finish on the plastic is also less boutique looking in that you aren't afraid of putting it down and getting it all scratched up and looking like a ragged shop broom in a week. That's my biggest gripe with the Candy Shell cases! Otherwise they are my second favorite.

Just got my White Commuter from Amazon. Was hoping to wait for one of the blue ones but I already managed to get a nice scratch on the side so I didn't want to risk it.
Case feels and looks good. Seems like it could take a pretty good drop without any trouble, and I really like the cover for the USB and headphone jack.

Thinnest case you've seen?

I'm looking for a new case. Recently had the Spigen Neo Hybrid. Amazing case until the back TPU started to get dirty really easily.
Anyways, just wanted to ask what the thinnest cases any of you have seen around is?
After I cracked my screen I started using the phone with no case and omiglawb it feels so much better, But to rock a phone without a case is dangerous so I figured I'd get a case, but this time something really, really thin so it doesn't add much bulk to the body.
Any input is appreciated, fellas.

I needed the thinnest case I could find to slip easily in and out of my car dock. All the others I've tried I had to grind down just to fit them in at all.
This one went in no problem and is available in other colors.
Hope that helps.

I own a Pinlo Slice 3 and I'm very happy with it. I only use it in more formal occasions, my daily case is a Spigen Neo Hybrid, like you ( mine doesn't get dirty :s), but it has some good protection and doesn't get scratched easily.

Nooooo lol I had a Spigen Neo Hybrid. I think I broke it in my sleep or something. Phone was on the nightstand before I went to sleep. Woke up in the morning and phone was still on nightstand except top left of the front bezel was exposed from the case and there was a crack(s) on the screen. After that I didn't give a **** so I used it with no case lol.
This is probably the slimmest case available for the S4 (the clear Ultra Thin Air model). It's too slim for my preference.

i also prefer cases that cover all the edges of the phone. if you're looking slim hard case that covers all edges, then recommend the Speck Candyshell. I cycle between that, an UAG, and the Diztronic TPU case.
I use this case:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BSZU8H6/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It fits with a tempered glass screen protector.
A little work to get it off the first few times bit it is thin and covers all edges of the phone and has a lip to protect the screen in a face down drop.
mine is not the thinnest i think but i like my spigen neo hybrid

What M9 cases is everyone using?

Just as the title asks...
This is a thread to share M9 cases&screen protectors based on your own real experience, it would be some help to others' to find a favorite case for their new buddy.
Now I'm using Arozell M9 case on Amazon[ http://www.amazon.com/dp/B012ODTG82 ] over 6 months and it really did the job.The look of the case is amazing. It is made of a plastic that does not feel cheap. There are two interlocking pieces, which makes it simple to remove/put on the case without much hassle. On top of that, there is a stand that folds into the back of the case, when you close it has a very pleasant "clink" when you snap it open and closed. Even though it has this fold-out stand, it does not take up any unnecessary space like a lot of cases that you can find.
Most importantly for me, the case encloses the entire phone. Many cases you will find do not have plastic that wraps around all of the edges of the phone resulting in the entire bottom portion of the phone exposed. This one does protect all of the sides and bottom, with nicely contoured openings for the speaker, headphone jack, and lightning port.

I have 4 cases. The Ringke Slim Gold case which I posted on here already, the Orzly FlexiSlim in smoke black which i really like - its ultra thin!

It's like the Poetic Atmosphere but its a clear case - I wish it was smoke translucent.
I've been using a black Ringke Slim. Super slim, love it.
Currenly using the Spigen Slim Armor... generally speaking, I find the Spigen cases to be about as "no-frills-y" as they get, but this one does come with an added feature... gonna post a separate blog about it, but I can definitely confirm that it successfully resisted a 2'-4' drop on corners and face down.

Im using this one with the InvisibleShield HDX screen protector, both recommended by the T-Mobile rep who checked me out when I got the phone. He uses the same setup on his M9, says his phone goes through hell, but it looked pristine to me. I've already dropped mine 10+ times in the 2 days I've had it, not a scratch. The "self-healing" tempered glass InvisibleShield is great for the screen, too.
I m using dot view ice premium and generic black slim case and I am happy with them up to now. No spigen purchased 'cause i think they do some bulky cases nowadays.

Switched to otterbox, had HTC dotview, but the binding started to rip so I returned it. HTC dotview is a cool concept , but is not practical if you use your phone a lot (IMO)

Another vote for the Spigen Neo-Hybrid. Nice color choices for the bumper and not bulky.
My UAG arrived today and it looks and feels great. Very pleased.

The thinnest most minimal case I have is the Samsung protective cover. Other than the edges, and the clear back, there is very little protection.

I picked up the black silicone case at the Verizon (corporate) store for $19.99. I've used these before (Note 4) and this one feels like TPU rather than silicone. I like it. Closest thing would be an Incipio (not feather or dual pro) or even Diztronic. This one is quite thin. I do like the ring around the camera on the Diztronic though. (I have the S6 edge version of that one, have not heard of an ETA for E6+ or Note 5 yet)
thx for share, looks good!

Spigen ultra thin liquid clear case for the win, I have it on mine, seems about as naked as you can get while offering some protection and great grip

+1. Have this badboy on since day one. Now I'm waiting for a better screen protector to come in, other then the Skinomi one which I hate the rubbery feeling. My Spigen curved crystal sp should be in tomorrow
I too have the Spigen ultra thin case.I got for 10 dollars in amazon where on Spigen it costs 20 dollars .It's the best.
What do you think about this solution?

I got the clear Spigen ultra thin. Very happy with the grip, and I dropped the phone for the first time yesterday with no damage incurred. Only con is that the left side of the case is a bit "floppy", it's not very tight against the side. Not sure if this is a defect or if they're all like this.
I got the clear Ringke FUSION case and like it a lot. Couldn't be happier.
i have put in an order for the Spigen Neo Hybrid Carbon
Its doesn't half look sexy, now it may not be 'Ultra thin' but its a very simple case, and it isn't adding the earth to the phone itself.
And i believe I am the authority on thinness after walking around happily for 2 years with 3 different HTC Universals (Brilliant phone for University I might add)
