What's your favorite case for the galaxy s 4g
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA App
Don't like case. I just use a clear scratch resistant screen protector
The silicone case they sell at T-Mobile. Can't stand tpu's, or snap cases. I've have bought like 10 different cases and the only one that really fits my phone and completely covers the bezel is the one from T-Mobile. All my tpu's look good but don't cover all bezel. The snap case is just stupid, it breaks even with a small drop. And I don't think I'd ever have the balls to use my phone without a case. Especially in high-school. One drop and hello big a$$ crack on the beautiful screen.

I have the amzer silicone case I like it but I'm looking for a hard case now
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app
I'm looking for one too, I just can't find one that won't break in half easily (bodyglove), makes my phone a fat @$$ (trident/otterbox), or is completely pointless (barelythere case)

Ya I wish there was a good kickstand case for our phone like the galaxy s 2

There's a thread about this, but I'll add in my input anyways.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040980
I originally used the low quality TPU cases. High quality ones are obviously more expensive, but those cover better and are also easier to press.
I now use a Trident Aegis. Took me forever to put on the first time (rebooted my phone 5 times), but now I'm a pro at it. I love the protection, but I hate that it's so much thicker than the TPU case. It does make the phone feel more sturdy though.
Otter box. I have dropped my phone so many times with this cover and it hasn't had any damage.

My favorite is cheap.
I'm partial to the hard rubber i9000 cases, like below.
They're thin, look decent, snap right on and protect the phone from a small fall. It protects the glass minimally with like a 1mm buffer if you lay it down on a flat surface.
They wear out quick (the rubber coating stuff wears off), but at $1.20 a case (including shipping) on ebay they are disposable.
I order like four at a time. I like the black, orange and red.

+1 for the Otter Box case, I've dropped this phone several times face down with this case down. Its adds some girth but gives a solid feel in your hand, as well the rubber button covers help with their function. Amazon has the best price I've found with free shipping.

I have to agree with the trident cyclops. Its essentially the otterbox defender.
I would have got the otterbox had there been a defender series for this phone.
I like the Cyclops and otter box I just can't decide which one to get

I'm going to probably buy the One S. Which case is best? I prefer one that protects the screen/front as well as everything else. Something like the Otterbox defender for the iPhone which encloses the entire phone in a protective plastic shell.
suggestions appreciated!
I just got a One S and picked up an otterbox case. It has a rubbery case that goes on the phone and then that can clip into a harder plastic case, so there's shock absorption combined with a hard plastic shell. its kind of thick, but honestly i found the phone to be too thin without it. it's at a nice usable weight and feel with the case.
The otterbox case also comes with a clear screen protector which is nice. It wasn't cheap ($40-ish, cant remember) but im really happy with it so far and am not worried that i'll wreck the phone in any way.
Hope that helps.
If you want something very protective but not extremely thick put an invisible shield screen protector on and get a d30 case. Works pretty well but no where near as bulky as an otterbox.

The d30 case can be bought at any T-Mobile store or on their website. And the invisible shield can be found at basically any cell store or zagg.com. there both holding up very well and the zagg has a lifetime replacement warranty

I am just bought an Aegis case, looks like more protection than the Cimo I am currently sporting. The diztronic I got lost out to the Cimo.
I don't want it to be too thick though so the otterbox, etc, are out of the picture for me. I'll post a new thread when I get it. I am hoping the Aegis is a good compromise.
I purchased the D30 case when I bought the phone and use with a thin screen protector. As a clumsy person I've dropped it a number of times - including down my brick stairs onto concrete - and not a scratch or any indication of shock damage! Definitely recommend the D30. (About $40 was worth it.)

D30 case is $25.00 at T-Mobile.
I bought and its a great case minus the buttons which are hard to press. Very irritating.
Now have a Cruzerlite TPU case which is AWESOME. It is the slimmest case I have seen. You feel the actual size of the phone rather than a bulky case. Great protection and buttons are easy to press.
Cruzerlite cases are only 9.95 and have Andy the android bot design on them and come in lots colors.

I just received my Otterbox commuter case. It seems like a great case made very well. Worth the $42 which includes shipping and tax. It's a two piece case, thick rubber with a hard plastic exoskeleton and it comes with a screen protector. It fits nice and snug, all holes are in the right spot and it will protect that nice camera that sticks out of our phone. I work in a body shop and take my phone with me on my quad so I need something durable but I don't want anything too big. I feel this is the perfect case for me.

The Galaxy S3 case looked great but the buttons were nearly impossible to press with zero feedback. It was also very slippery. How are those items on this version?
The design looks like the buttons should work better.
The buttons work great. No problem. It feels great, slick enough to slide out of the pocket but not too slick to slide out of your hand
Edit: my fingers do hit the lip at the bottom pressing the home button and soft keys but it's not horrible. I prefer the protection nyself. You can still hit those buttons without any problems

The Commuter IMHO has always been better than the Defender.
Unless you must have to have a holster.
IMHO the biggest flaw in the Defender for S4 is the cover for the USB charging port. It creates a bulge in the bottom of the surrounding rubber. The Commuter has hard plastic on the outside, I've always liked that better. The only Commuter case I did not like was for the Note2.
This case is even better than the one for the S3 which had ridiculously hard resistance on button actuation. There is more resistance than say a TPU case or Speck Candyshell, but it's not hateful. The finish on the plastic is also less boutique looking in that you aren't afraid of putting it down and getting it all scratched up and looking like a ragged shop broom in a week. That's my biggest gripe with the Candy Shell cases! Otherwise they are my second favorite.

Let us know how you like it when it arrives.
I like the extra corner protection. The case system seems like something from Aliens.
I had this case on my S3 for a few days before returning it, only because I didn't like the way the belt clip attached to the outer case. It's too hard to get it clipped in when the belt piece is still on your belt and you're trying to put the phone back in it. Also, I wasn't crazy about the clip piece being close to the screen. If this had a holster like Otterbox or a Seidio case I had for the S3, that would be much better IMO. Aside from the belt clip, the case itself is a solid Otterbox competitor, assuming build quality is the same for the S4 as it was for the S3.
I like the Trident Aegis case instead- just got one for my S4 and it offers the same protection without the bulky corners. I've had the Trident Aegis cases on my S2, S3 and now S4 and I must say its probably one of my favorite lines of cases.
Using the clip became 2nd nature after 2-3 days. I liked it because you could tell if the phone was on board without doing anything. What I didn't like is the ear opening cut off half the speaker and they didn't care.

If you look on the back, the top corners protrude, so the upper 2/3 of the case are in contact with a flat surface when you lay it flat. If you push down on the bottom, it will tilt, however.

No. It is poly carbonate but has a small bit of texture and some louvers on the back (for heat maybe?). If you use the case without the back on it (Perseus) then it will have more of a silicone feel. Can't really compare this case to the Seidio Active because the Kraken is a Mil Spec case. Much more stout.

The case is great but diets sticks to the rubber something fierce. I had both an otterbox commuter and a trident aegis for my S3 and they held up well. The otterbox seems to hold dirt while the trident didn't. Anyone out there have either a commuter or an aegis? If so how does it hold up to dirt and grime. I had the commuter on mine for a few months and I work at a body shop (dirt everywhere) and the commuter would get a little dirty on the rubber but would clean pretty easily. But it let a decent amount of dirt in the case (not as bad as other cases I have had) but I know from experience that dirt will wear the crap out of the finish of the phone. I now have the obex and it stays clean for the most part but the holes for the sensors, spekers, camera and IR hole build up with dirt. A little water and a q-tip and its clean again. And no dirt gets inside the case..

Pretty much every case with silicone is going to have dirt stick to it. I have both the aegis and the commuter and theyre both nice cases. Dirt seems to stick less to the commuter tho.

Hi, I purchased the SPIGEN Slim Armor case for my s4 and it is a beast! I don't mean in size but the durability on this thing is just solid for a cheap case. It does not protect your screen like an otter box does, but everything all around... If you face the phone down it has a couple of cm so the screen is not touching the surface of your table or w.e. I have a zigs screen protector for my front and my phone is in prestige condition. They are like 25 bucks on their site but I used amazon and got them for 13.99.
Hi...even i use slim armor for my SG S4.. my only concern is about the dirt which accumulates on the back panel which results in scratches when using a back cover. .by any chance do you know how to overcome this??

I use a dbrand titanium black skin with an ringke fusion case, received just 3 hours ago!
Looks great
Ringke Fusion hybrid, and I just change the back to my liking. I use the template it comes with and add whatever design I want to the back. My wife has a **** ton of scrap paper for her crafts, and I use some of the textured metallic designs she has. It pairs well with the slim design of the case and adds a lot of customizability. Kinda like the above pics, but you can make it whatever you want.

I love the way the oem bumper looks but it makes the phone a bit too wide which drives me nuts. I just ordered the i -blason candy shell case with the clear back similar to the ringke case and the tpu has a glossy finish. It also looks slightly slimmer than the ringke case but I won't know for sure until I can compare them

Thanks for the tip, i'll get one asap!
Any of you tried the body glove white case. It gives the phone a decent amount of protection and the phone still feels slim

Can you please give us a link?
I am using the CruzerLite Bugdroid. Still love it, like the circuit board design.
I'm not using anything .. is that bad ? I think the best looking case is the original case .. naked phone.
What about the xda release?

+1
What's the skinniest case for the nexus? I see the N5 has thinner cases for it.

Ringke slim

imho, the best looking case would be 'Nillkin Hard Case for Nexus 4'
-clean looking
-good grip over the phone
-good feel in the hand
-all in black, no shinies
those are my criteria
I like the Diztronic TPU just because it follows the N4's curves while providing protection from drops. You do have to kinda watch the back so it doesn't get scratched though.

I own the ringke fusion, ringke slim, and nillkin hard case.
Out of those three i prefer the nillkin case. It feels better in the hand than the ringke slim (smoother edges).
