To me the auto brightness setting seems a bit agressive (dims the screen too much) compared to my previous phone (Droid Razr Maxx). Is there some way to adjust the auto brightness to dim the screen a bit less than it does by default?
I'd suggest Lux. Great app, much more control, and it will "warm" your display to mess with your eyes less at night.

Is there any way to customize the auto backlight levels in mango? The screen is always too bright indoors and too dim outdoors.
tht's true, it would be cool to customize, because auto backlight depends on the battery level but nothing about light sensor...
Umm, the automatic backlight is very much based on the phone's light sensor. Battery Saver *might* lower the brightness automatically, but the "Automatic" option under Settings -> Brightness is based on the light level that the phone detects.
wow...shame on me i didn't notice that...
HD7 screen is not really effective when sun is shining outdoor...
Just curious, for indoor use like the Office, how do you like your Display Brightness ? Do you use Adaptive Brightness, or use an app or set it to a specific % yourself ?
I kind of like setting it to 50% myself in the office, as Adaptive seems to go either go too low dim, or sometimes too bright, but doesn't stay.
I don't use adaptive; I just set my brightness manually with the slider in quick settings. I prefer fairly low brightness indoors (about 20%), I set it to around 50% outdoors, or full brightness if I need to read the screen under the sun.
Hey!
I have small problem with my phone. I have the automatic screen brightness slider on 1/4. The problem can be seen, when i go outside: the screen brightness increases to a certain level but when i go back home, where it is darker than outside, the screen brightness is not reduced to a level that would suit me, is still mega bright. Only in quick-settings, when i turn off and then again on automatic screen brightness, the brightness of the screen gets adequate to the ambient brightness. Im on edgars xtrestolite 2.4 with unikernel v9.1. What's wrong?
Is there any way to decrease the brightness of always on display?
Just cant see it in a settings.
Any thoughts?
I haven't noticed a setting but I have noticed that the brightness does seem to change based on lighting conditions so I feel like it's got a default auto brightness setting. It does seem somewhat slow to adjust sometimes though.
The screen should refresh every minute, so i think the interval for auto brightness is the same
Hi everyone. Is there a way to trick the brightness sensor so that we can get the extra brightness /contrast under the adaptive display mode? I imagine it like a brightness sensor calibration under strong light! so every time one uses the auto brightness it would scale immediately to the max+ brightness .
Anyone thinks it is possible?
Thanks
