Hi.
I already upgraded the firmware to 2.2 following the instructions found on the forum, however, does anyone know if it is possible to do a fresh install of Android 2.3 on a FT2 tablet? I don't like the crap apps coming with the original firmware. Please provide the instructions or links if you know how
thanks!

you could try to look for one or you can root it and remove thouse damn bloatware. be careful you can brick your device with some of the apps you remove.

Is it still possible to root the captivate if i flash to the new build? I just got this phone and I really want to do both of these..lol. Please someone let me know. I already downloaded the guide from this site. So I just want to know if I get the new build, is it possible to follow the same root instructions that are for 2.1? Thanks in advanced.

Yes it's still possible to root, but with a different ( more complicated ) method as of now. It's not the same as rooting on 2.1. You can find couple of threads regarding rooting froyo in development section.
Greetings. I did a fair share of searching but I end with more questions.
I'll try list them as clear as I can.
First thing to note: I don't have experience with all of the below.
1. I am an avid flash user/developer and would like to develop apps for android. Which apparently is running android 2.1. However for flash / air apps we need android 2.2 at the very least.
My phone (garmin-asus A10) seems not to get any android upgrade anywhere soon.
Q: Is there a rom available for this phone. I read on the web / this site that in asia this phone comes with Android 2.2
2. So if anyone has a link to a downloadable rom, is there any link or tutorial to install this on my phone?
Sorry if this has been asked before. Just trying to get some answers.
Thanks
Hi. I'm new in hacking devices. My phone is an Acer Liquid Mini with Android 2.2 Froyo and I have some questions:
1. What is the best way to root my device?
2. What is the best ROM that I can find? I want one that can ugrade the OS to 2.3. There is an official update, already?
If it is possible, provide me links with the best tutorials to do that.
3. If something goes wrong, it is reversible?
Thanks for all the answers and sorry about my english.
Got all your answers!

Hey,
1. The best way would be to use "Super One Click". If you want to know the version I used 1.7 for my liquid mini.
2. Yes there was an official upgrade in October I think. I just got it updated an hour ago and I am on top of the world feels like the first time I got this phone, it looks totally new and no acer UI (thank god) but the new UI in place of the old one looks really awesome. Worth the upgrade. Just go to System>Update phone; and make sure you have atleast 410mb free on your SD.It gets upgraded to 2.3.5.
3. While rooting it won't screw up, it never does. (very rarely unless you act smart and remove your battery during the process) Its very safe nowadays to root.
Hope that helped.
Because no one seems to do it I was forced to work by myself and I managed to upgrade the phone to Android 2.2.
I wrote detail article with direct link downloads for the ROM file and the flasher. They are direct downloads no ads or such.
I also have all Firmwares for all Alcatel phones, but they are about 11Gb so I'll upload them in the next few days.
the tutorial is little big, but I was trying to be more precise so everyone can understand me.
Thanks.

Thanks for the info, a guy was asking to me if he could update his phone to 2.2 and he will be pleased of hear: yes you can! =D
What about performance of 2.2 on this phone, is it good. Do you need OC? Is all working like on the original 2.1 rom?
Thanks again!

The performance is BETTER then the stock ROM because a lot of unnecessary apps provided by alcatel are deleted and left only the important one. I made this upgrade for mu sister's phone and I can say it is running with no problem. Everything works, GPS, WiFi, GPRS. All is normal.
I am happy because it is at least 2.2. Android 2.1 is prehistoric, there is even no Google Play store upgrade for it.
Need complete ROM files
Can someone upload the complete ROM and share the link? I want to make a similar ROM for Spice MI 270 based on MT6516. My phone has android 2.2 but does not support adb currently.
Please upload system.bin, boot.img, recovery.img and others if possible.
Thanks!
Holy Batman it's a very old thread I know!!
Would someone be kind enough to upload the tutorial and the files. I would be grateful...
Thank you.

Hi, I just bought Alcatel 890d a couple of weeks ago. It comes with Android 2.2 out of the box. Is it possible to upgrade it to the newer Android version? Also, could you please give me the TWRP/CWM img file for this phone that I can flash using Flashify? Please. I really need it so bad.
Hi everyone
I got this nice tablet Efun Nextbook NX007HD8G that has Android 4.1.1 and I wanted to install a custom rom for it but I can't find anything here about this tablet, I have seen a very few threads about it and nothing about installing a custom rom into it.
I'm very beginner in these stuff so if you y'all can help me install a custom rom then I would really appreciate it.
I have this tablet (just got it yesterday. Have you had any feedback yet that hasn't been posted to this thread about the files you provided and the rooting process on this tablet? I'm hesitant to be the first one to try it. Is there a way to test this out prior to actually going through with it? Thank you.

Hey! sadly I'm still looking and still can't find any way to install a custom rom, I don't want to try anything so I won't break my tablet.
As for rooting, well I tried 360 Perm root which works on Samsung Galaxy J1 (2015) but it didn't work on this tablet however I found this thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2564609
And I'm not sure if it works 100% or not because I haven' tried it yet.
