Can I install CyanogenMod 10 with TWRP?

Hi,
I have currently 4.5 CleanRom, and I used TWRP to install it, but I want Jellybean on my phone, can I just use TWRP to install CyanogenMod 10 with it? or do I need another installer of roms like CWM Recovery?
thanks.

of course you can, but if you're on a newer Hboot, you will need to boot the rom through fast boot with boot.img
but of course.

I already have TWRP installed and I know how to access it on fastboot, the only reason I asked why is because I have seen some rooms not working properly with CWM Recovery, so I didnt know if there was any problem the other way around with roms like Cyanogen.
Thanks!
your good to go with twrp, i recommend updating to twrp 2.3.1.0
Will the CM nightlies flash normally on the old hboot?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
they should but if you have any problems go into bootloader and run this command "fastboot erase cache"
are you using twrp 2.3.1.0?
Bootlooping CM10 on Telstra One XL
Hey guys been trying to work this out for the last 20 hours.
Now i followed the very good guides to put TWRP on the phone that worked fine tried to load cm10 latest nightly rom on kept bootlooping. so decided to give another rom ago.
used viper and it worked fine.
wanted to try and get cm10 working
So i have twrp 2.3.1
And latest cm-10-20121102-NIGHTLY-evita.zip
i wipe system, factory default cache. and the other cache.
go and install the rom all looks good, wipe caches and reboot.. than goes to the cool cm10 logo and loops there for AGES like 30 mins than i power cycled it and tried over.
with no working cm10 there i looked around and followed a guide to fastboot a new boot.img on from out of the cm10 zip.
this looked like it was going to work but still reboot and bootlooping.
can anyone help please.

try this.
1.) Download the 10/27 build
2.) get the boot.img from this build
3.) wipe cach/dalvik and system
4.) install 11/2 nightly
5.) flash the 10/27 boot.img
6.) reboot
This worked for me, something with the 11/2 and 11/1 boot.img was keeping it from booting.
Good luck

I would only recommend TWRP with CM10, or any other ROM.
Problems with CMW are due to the fact that it never officially supported our device, and was just a port. TWRP has no such issues.

cm10.0 BigPart boot image

After upgrading to BigPart i wanted to go back to the last "official" 4.1.2 based Roms to compare speed and stability with more up to date cm10.1 and 4.3. To try it out without reverting BigPart, I patched and recompiled Cm10.0 stable. I found cm10.0 stable and faster. Wanted to share, but I can't post in developers thread yet
perhaps someone could copy to the right thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2506997
Link is to Boot image as cwm flashable zip. To use, flash full cm10.0 stable, then flash this boot image over the top before rebooting, so the new partitions are recognised. [ same technique as all other boot images in the main thread ]

Cool
Thanks a lot red321z
your CM10.0_wingray_BigPart_boot_image works very fine :highfive:
I couldn't get the BigPart boot.img to flash.... Formatted as BigPart (currently running CM11). I flashed CM10, it worked, then flashed the boot.img and got an error. Is it my recovery? I'm using TWRP 2.6 or 2.7 RunAndHide05 edition. I can't remember if 2.6 can flash 4.1 ROMs or not....

well try to superwipe and install again..happend to me to and it fixed it..oh and for the future use CWM with CM
Sounds like the standard recovery issue but yours should be new enough. As mentioned, do a full wipe, if that doesn't work do another and try flashing using cwm. I haven't had a single issue with 10.2 yet, good luck!
I think twrp 2.6.1.0 has worked for some people or use cwm(philz I think) and flash from there. After that switch back to twrp 2.6.3.0.

managed to get out of the CM11 bootloop after applied Fix Permissions (or something similar) in TW's Custom Recovery.
Seems that only TW recovery can fix this through a permissions fix.
Got the same problem last night and the only thing to do to get it works was to re-flash the stock firmware, flash the recovery and reinstall the CM build. Latest build seems to be pretty good.
Simply wiping the cache before and after flash worked for me.

Not for me, sadly.
I've also tried to re-flash the rom through the recovery but the only fix that worked for me was to flash the stock firmware and then install the CM via recovery.
Same here, had difficulties getting Cyanogen to boot.
What I did is :
- roll back to stock 4.3 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546251 (yes, you can roll back, read the end of the post)
- allow OTA update to 4.4.2
- install CWM
- in CWM : format /system, /data and /cache, install cyanogen from ZIP, wipe dalvik cache
Mysteriously it worked like a charm after many unsuccessful tries and a softbrick ^^
Btw, no need to root the stock ROM to install CWM or a custom ROM, just skip this step
Do you have the XT1032 version?

I´m tired of the mess made it because of the three different Moto G versions, i'm waiting for official Recovery from CWM, maybe 3 months it's to early but I wanna try this method. (I hope to don´t hardbrick haha)
I was having the same problem with every rom i tried. After going back complete stock with Alonsoch's tool in the original Dev thread, I was then able to get past the boot on any rom

Recovery Problem

Hi everyone . I need help . I have an Xperia L with resolution remix rom and two days ago it just got restarted and ended in a bootloop . I tried to reflash but it was stuck at patching system unconditionally.
I even tried different recovery
Some times the recovery says that flashing finished
But when I reboot the phone it just stays at the sony logo. And when I check the size used in the system partition there is a lot of space left it means the ROM was not installed
All the recovery have this problem. Now I can't flash any zip ( the recovery just reads the update script and shows on the screen ) ? please someone help me
I have tried TWRP
PHILZ
CWM
Let me know if there is a cure for this
THANKS

Seems like partition issue. You're wiping all partitions properly before flashing new zip?

I have no idea what's happening with my phone
I did wipe everything except internal and external storage
The recovery is not copying any files to the sys partition
While flashing because of this the recovery just loads and loads for ever but still nothing happens
I'm trying to install cm 12.1 and the recovery is currently paused patching sys unconditionally
Can someone give me link to a good recovery
Except these ?. ?. ?
I have problem with TWRP , CWM , PHILZ
Or any cure
Thanks

If nothing is working then I'd suggest to flash the stock ROM FTF and see if the device boots, if it does then just download latest TWRP and start flashing!

Tried flashing stock ROM but
It's not booting . And because the cm 12 was stuck at patching sys unconditionally . I decided to install another rom and I found you're prime Xperia LP
. But sadly it was not booting even after a clean installation . It's stuck at the thunder zap logo ??
What to do now
Thanks for replying ??

Stock ROM not booting? Hmm..It is sounding more like a hardware issue to me or most probably messed up partition table. Btw you said stuck on thunderzap logo, why are you flashing thunderzap kernel? It is outdated, abandoned and not supported to latest releases anymore.

But I didn't flash thunder zap. I just installed the prime Xperia LP and when I restarted the phone that's when I saw the thunder zap logo
I thought you included it in the ROM
I didn't flash anything additionally
And sometime the recovery dose flash correctly n ROM dose boot but after some time it just hangs and restarts
Then it goes to bootloop almost every has this problem
I installed stryflix ultimate yesterday and the same problem happened to this ROM too. Then I tried to reflash but recovery problems again
Thanks

Do one thing, download latest twrp from HERE and using the dd method listed there, flash that recovery. Boot to the new recovery and wipe everything (boot, system, data, cache and internal storage). Then download any of the latest ROM e.g. AICP or AOSP-CAF Nougat and flash that. Do these and let me know the result.

I have flashed a mm ROM and fortunately it booted up
And the phone is working. But I don't know for how long
Anyway I installed super user and when I type the commend it is saying
Unknown id: dd ???
Don't know what's the problem but I think that the resource file name was different or something else
Stryder i think that the problem for bootloop is the SIM ?or carrier? . All the rom i flash has RIL problem
And when I reboot my phone without SIM it doesn't stuck. But I can't use the phone without carrier
Is there any solution. And I still couldn't do anything about the dd commend.
Thanks
Some how the problem is solved ( i think )
I have flashed some other Roms and they are working fine and the recovery is working smoothly
