Hello,
I have CM10.1.0 installed on my TF700T transformer pad. A few days ago I tried to update to 10.1.2 but this resulted in a boot loop, where the cyanogenmod circle stopped and after a few seconds the device rebooted and produced the same behaviour, until the battery was empty.
The only workaround was to re-install the 10.1.0 (plus the gapps.zip).
Today I installed the 10.1.3 version, hopefully working this time. But the same thing happened again, resulting in a re-install of 10.1.0 as described above.
Is this a typical CM or TF700t bug? Did anybody else experience this?
Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance!

Check your bootloader version. The instructions to update it are not only there for decoration...

Hi, I got the same problem with the new stable CM version (10.1.3).
Could you please tell us which bootloader will work?
Because "Check your bootloader version" didn't help me much. A link to a download would help much more.
Thanks for your very welcome help.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Welcome to xda-developers!
1. Find the official CM thread in the dev forum. It's usually on the first page, so it's easy to find.
2. Read the instructions there.
3. ???
4. Profit!

I just purchased this tablet today and quickly rooted it. I've since tried to upgrade my firmware and its failed 3 straight times. It'll reboot and begin the update, then fail midway thru, leaving an android dude with an exclamation mark. Then it boots back up and gives a message that the update failed. If anyone can help me figure this out I'd greatly appreciate it.

Have you done the build prop tweak? Have You installed any of the themed apps? Have you removed any of the original files in /system?
For me, no, no, and no. All I've done is give it root.

What have you used your root access to do? Sorry for all the questions just trying to figure out what might have affected it.
even though you failed the update does the build version say .26?

I don't mind the questions heck I just appreciate the help. With root I've used AdFree and Root Explorer to change the stock email/exchange apk's for the hacked ones to bypass security. Nothing else.

So you did change system apks. That's your problem right there.
So the correct answer for a couple posts above is no, no, and yes.
Thanks, I restored my email/exchange backups but the upgrade continues to fail. I may end up having to return this but I appreciate the help.

Flash the .17 blob (and probably do a factory reset for good measure) and reroot. Don't touch anything else, and do the update. That should get you where you want to be. A lot of hassle, but I think it's the only way. You definitely don't need to return your tablet.

Hi
I am currently on stock (10.4.4.18), locked infinity, but I want to install custom rom on it? So can anyone tell me how to do it? Do I have to use the ice cream sandwich methode to unlock it?
Thanks in advance for all answers.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
- Download the unlock tool from Asus and run it
- accept that this will void your warranty and unlocking is permanent
- install a custom recovery via fastboot
- install a custom ROM
There are excellent guides explaining the detailed steps in the sticky posts, read them.
Edit: start here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1834521

It's pretty simple. Since you already on JB .18(latest version). Just follow the instruction here, but skip section 1 (because you already on JB) and start with section 2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32825557
If you already have root, there is even simpler instruction to follow, let me know.

Which ROM were you considering?
If I may ask...
I was considering CleanROM, because of all the lag I'm having.

Excellent!
I would very very highly recommend the latest version of CleanROM.
Almost sure there will be no disappointment.

The unlock tool says only ICS, and I used it, but it's just saying there has occured an unknown error, so I'm unable to unlock my tablet.
Edit: I got following message "An unknown error occurs, which may be a network connection issue. Please wait and try again later."

The ICS unlock tool is legit for JB as well. The issue you seeing is Asus server not working. Keep trying and you are going to get it....
hi, First I want to describe my problem. Many of tf700 users had update failure when jb came out and I am one of them. I used my tablet with ics until today. I want to update it to jb. I already read some manuel updating guides but no luck I couldnt get it worked. Even followed the guide about dmclient etc. And many of these guides they are redirecting me to asus website for jb firmware. In asus site when choosing OS there is no OS to be selected ! I dont know why. I am on .30 version of ics. Thanks in advance

OK, so you have a lot of options, do you want to run custom rom?? it's a night and day between custom rom and stock. If you are unlocked, there is NO REASON to stay with stock rom!!!
Yeah I unlocked for it but you know whats my problem. I can flash ics custom roms I know. Is there a way update to jb with twrp ? Or what do you recommend me to do
For example can I directly flash cleanrom while i am not on jb ?

with twrp you could flash full stock JB firmware (included JB bootloader), or just flash independant JB bootloader, then flash cleanrom. The easiest way is flash JB bootloader then Cleanrom. Make sure your twrp is either version 2.3.10 or newer.
JB bootloader and cleanrom can be found here:

Hey guys, complete noob here so please bear with me. I just picked up a US version TF300T and immediately updated it to 4.2.1 JB. Now that I'm looking in to rooting this thing I'm starting to feel like this was a mistake as I'm not seeing any info on how to root with the new firmware. Should I downgrade to an older firmware? How exactly would I go about doing this? Also, are there any good guides to rooting out there?
Thanks in advance!

you'll have to wait for new versions of cwm/twrp to be released.
for now there's no root option that will work on 4.2

OK things have changed since the last answer here. Do the following...
Go to the Asus site and download v8 of the unlock tool in utilities then use it to unlock your bootloader.
Once unlocked download twrp 2.4.4.0 recovery and flash it in. See the Dev section for site and instructions.
Locate the root guide in the general section and dow unload superuser.zip from it and flash it in using twrp recovery to get root.
Go to the market and get supersu, install it and let that manage your su binary.
Hope this helps.

Sorry, but no admin would have told you to post this here.
As it is, I am closing this for now, since it is not N7 or dev related. Moved to proper forum.

If there is no specific forum, it should go where this thread is now, in the general forum (note this thread was originally placed in the Nexus 7 board and then moved) .
not bad
I got my 4.2 a few hours ago and it is pretty damn smooth for a stock rom!
