Ok so today i was playing wind up knight (running CM9 beta 2) and my sensation got stuck so i tried to reboot by hold vol + and - and the power button...nothing happened, so went ahead and did a battery pull
when i tried to turn it back on, back light turn on but the screen dies but the phone vibrates as it always does when u press the power button to turn it on, then if i wait like 20 secs it vibrates the same way again (keep in mind the screen is off), the 20 secs later vibrates again, and so on
so im assuming im in a bootloop and screen is not turning off
so i decided to try going to hboot to try and see if adb recognizes the phone and it doesnt but i press the power button again to go to fastboot and the pc recognizes the phone, i tried fastboot devices and it indeed shows up my s/n (keep in mind screen doesnt turn on as well in hboot)
so ive been thinking my options at this point are:
*try using fastboot flashall, to flash new firmware and stuff however i dont know how to do that, ive just read that command can be done, but i havent found anyone using it on the sensation
*or i can also try an RUU, thinking about the telstra RUU since my sensation is a telstra one, however i dont know if ill lose s-off if i do this, also i dont know if i have to change my CID to the telstra one since im super CID
my fear about losing s-off is that if my screen doesnt turn on after running the RUU i wont be able to use fastboot commands anymore to try more options
so anyone have advice on what can i possibly do?
thanks
Can you reboot into recovery? If so why not just super wipe and flash a new from?

Since the phone doesn't support Braille, how would he? He is without screen!
From my point of view seems like hardware... Most probably the screen... Or the gpu try flashing an ruu with out turning to s-on and pull a logcat... It might just help
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA App
i just flashed the RUU and no dice still no screen seems like im not stuck in a bootloop anymore
still no ADB commands since ADB debugging is off lol only fastboot
is there a way to get the logcat via fastboot or without adb?
Take a look here... It might do the job. http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/12834/broken-screen-cant-adb

thanks for that link it dled screencast but it need adb to get to work :S
so i tried flashing a cwm via fastboot cause i read adb can be used while in recovery after flashing i rebooted into recovery and got some drivers to install but 2 of them the last one fail, device manager recognizes the phone as an HTC Modem in recovery and no ADB commands =/
also tried setprop persist.servece.adb.enable 1 but not sure where do i have to try it
also forgot to mention when the phone is off and i plug the usb the led lights up amber after a little bit it gets green (i assume its cause the battery is fully charged) if i press the power button the phone vibrates and the led goes off
Bump for HEEEEEELPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!
apparently i dont have a radio either, even after flashing the RUU
tried flashing one but i got the FAILED remote message
out of curiosity. Pull the battery and put it back in. Hold volume down and while still holding volume down button press and hold the power button. Are you getting to the HTC boot loader. If so then good. Now grab an ruu for your phone and see if it will run. Don't worry if the ruu tells you to boot the system on and click next to proceed. Flashing a ruu you will NOT lose s-off. If you can't see a screen to tell if you are in the boot loader still try to do the ruu. Let me know what happens and I will try to help you out further or not
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA App
just did, for the second time still nothing happens =/ the telstra RUU i booted to fastboot usb before flash so RUU would recognize the phone
what else can i do?
So ruu recognized the phone and finished flashing?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA App
yup, still no screen
Hmm not looking good. Have you tried removing the SD card and try to boot the phone without it?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA App
yes, also without the sim card
I am afraid you will have to send to HTC for fixing or buy another sensation. Definately seems like a hardware issue that a ruu won't fix or anything currently available to us.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA App
another option would be to purchase a USB jtag to go into phone via serial. Beyond my skill there but treve on evo3d forums may or may not be able to help or anyone else? Which leaves yoibto decide on a replacement phone. Treve's post is [wip] download mode serials etc etc in the development section. I would link it but I am on phone atm.

ill look into that thanks!
You are welcome and good luck!

First off, i'm not bad with computers, but apparently not so great either.
Also tried searching, but I couldn't find it.
Then my question.
I tried to unroot my phone and followed this guide of the unlocker.
downloaded a RUU (after a lot of searching for mirrors) and I think it didn't work properly.
Either way, I continued with the guide doing the following in the cmd on windows
adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
fastboot reboot-bootloader
now, my phone doesn't do anything anymore. Doesn't charge (or atleast the LED does not turn on) can't turn the phone on, nothing. I checked the SD card and that is still all in tact.
Is there any way to let my phone work again?
I would really appreciate the help!
Phone specifications
HTC Sensation (3g)
Vodafone NL Carrier.
If you remove the sd card and the battery, than after some seconds re enter just the battery and try to turn it on, does the htc logo come up? Does the screen turn on?

Did not work, unfortunately
if it doesnt even charge sounds like it bricked...
Did the RUU flash ok? Got any errors?

It did not i found out later
So battery taken out and let sit for a few seconds and still nothing..sounds disturbing. try putting the battery back in and press the power button and the volume down together at the same time for a few seconds.. anything?
I"m having the same issue with mine. S-Off, root and CID all went perfect. Went into clockwork, installed/ran the superwipe program, flashed the AHDRev ROM successfuly, then installed the 'bricked' kernel. Also went successfully.
Then popped battery, then nothing. LED flashes to indicate charging, but phone refuses to boot. Popped battery up to 10 minutes, also tried whilst on charger
Nothing in fastboot cmd prompt either

Did you also use clockworkmod or 4ext?
I wonder if that's the pattern
ARHD specifically ask for 4ext in the guide.

Believe it or not but batteries dying or defective can result in the same issues I'm seeing. My sensation had to have a battery replacement before. Led indicator stays orange and black screen occurs. I don't know if that's what the problem is and it can be a handful of different things. Sorry to hear about your phones. Hope you get it up and running again

I tried rooting my inspire with aahk but in the process the phone restarted and ended up getting stuck on the htc boot screen. I've tried to go into the hboot screen and do a factory reset and recovery but every time it goes into the same htc boot screen and just freezes on there. What could be the problem and what can i do to remedy this problem and get my phone operating properly again. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

What version of firmware did your phone come with, Froyo or Gingerbread? What exactly happened with AAHK? As in, how far did you get in AAHK? What does HBOOT say from the top to FASTBOOT?

You should have read the manual. It covers what to do in case of errors. Now that you did a factory reset you disabled USB debugging. List what your hboot screen says and also try entering recovery to see if that got flashed.

honestly i was dumb and didnt check to see what version of firmware i had. and when AAHK it downloaded the downgrade and applied the downgrade then it rebooted the phone after that it has just been getting stuck at the htc boot screen. And in HBOOT it says the following:
ACE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-0.85.0024
MICROP-0438
RADIO-26.09.04.11_M2
eMMC-boot
Apr 12 2011,00:55:45
Based on the radio and boot version it looks like your on 2.47.502
You need to reflash the ruu and start all over. Look at the sticky I have in the general. Their I have a link to the ruus.
If that ruu doesn't work you could always try the 3.20 version.

This may be a stupid question but how do I get the computer to see my phone. I downloaded the new ruu but when is searched or prepares the phone it cant find it.
Boot your phone into hboot.
Pull battery.
Reinsert battery and hold volume down and power
Once in boot select fast boot.
Then plug in your phone should read fast boot USB. Then you run the ruu

Hello, I have a an HTC Inspire 4G and it won't turn on. And I can't get into HBOOT. I tried the AAHK method and now it seems to be perma-bricked. It's not even mine. It sometimes turns on, constantly vibrating. I have no idea what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've looked every for a solution to this problem and I never could find a similar case or an answer. I am running Viper on my sensation (specs in sig) and heading back home my phone just shutdown. I turned it back on and it stayed on splash screen. So I took out the battery and now it won't turn on. I have 3 other battery's and they're fully charged. Sometimes I can get it to Bootloader, but once I go into recovery it shuts down. Sometimes it just won't even boot. The orange light doesn't even show when I connect it to the charger either with battery is in. Can someone help me get a solution because I don't think I can send this if it still unlocked, rooted, and have a ROM.

Hold the VolDown button then press the Power button. You'll get into the bootloader and just go into the Recovery.

Put a small piece of paper behind the battery in order to make it fit in more tightly; that way we can see whether or not the problem is being caused by a faulty connection to the battery pins. Also, all Sensations don't charge when they are at the htc splash screen nor when they are in the bootloader.
I have Put a small piece of paper behind the battery, but my sensation not boot at all... first i want to install viper ROM, i have try 5 times but it boot-loop, than i install super-wipe, but wrong super-wipe,
htc sensation I can not turn on it at all
i think the boot-loader error when i install wrong super-wipe (i install superwipe for htc wildfire)

using wrong superwipe is the problem ...it might have wiped important partitions and thus bootup failed .... only Jtag is the solution i think ..
you need to go to any local shop who have jtag and try to flash firmware using jtag
I've read all the tutorial threads and none seemed to work for me. I have a HTC Sensation, on stock ROM, Android 4.0.3 and software number (3.33.401.53 i suppose that is the firmware version). I tried to get it S-OFF, but that paperclip trick doesn't work for me, cause it goes to fastboot and after that command prompt hangs on Test 2. I tried using Hasoon2000 tutorial to install recovery, it hangs on sending recovery for hours. I used htcdev to unlock bootloader and it says **UNLOCKED**, but i can't move from there. I tried PermRoot from Hasoon's tool, still no luck. Can anyone help me????

No error messages. It's just wont get through certain steps. I start Hasoon2000 all in one, try the permroot, it goes to fastboot and after that nothing happens, i can still navigate through fastboot but dos program stops doing anything. I try to install recovery, it goes to fastboot normally, and program stops on "sending recovery". It reacts to computer commands to restart and so on but nothing else. Tried ControlBear, it stops on part where it should load Joupuntu loader... "Test 2...." . Can't even TempRoot it... Any ideas? Do you have any other link for HTC drivers?

since your bootloader is unlocked, probably you are able to upgrade it. I DO NOT PLEDGE IT THOUGH. but i suggest give it a try. http://www.mediafire.com/?1ed2y87pld66638 download that file and put it in root of your SD card then boot into bootloader, it'll ask for update, accept by pressing vol up.
but do this at your own, i did n am using right now, flawless.
