I tried rooting my inspire with aahk but in the process the phone restarted and ended up getting stuck on the htc boot screen. I've tried to go into the hboot screen and do a factory reset and recovery but every time it goes into the same htc boot screen and just freezes on there. What could be the problem and what can i do to remedy this problem and get my phone operating properly again. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

What version of firmware did your phone come with, Froyo or Gingerbread? What exactly happened with AAHK? As in, how far did you get in AAHK? What does HBOOT say from the top to FASTBOOT?

You should have read the manual. It covers what to do in case of errors. Now that you did a factory reset you disabled USB debugging. List what your hboot screen says and also try entering recovery to see if that got flashed.

honestly i was dumb and didnt check to see what version of firmware i had. and when AAHK it downloaded the downgrade and applied the downgrade then it rebooted the phone after that it has just been getting stuck at the htc boot screen. And in HBOOT it says the following:

Based on the radio and boot version it looks like your on 2.47.502
You need to reflash the ruu and start all over. Look at the sticky I have in the general. Their I have a link to the ruus.
If that ruu doesn't work you could always try the 3.20 version.

This may be a stupid question but how do I get the computer to see my phone. I downloaded the new ruu but when is searched or prepares the phone it cant find it.
Boot your phone into hboot.
Pull battery.
Reinsert battery and hold volume down and power
Once in boot select fast boot.
Then plug in your phone should read fast boot USB. Then you run the ruu

Hello, I have a an HTC Inspire 4G and it won't turn on. And I can't get into HBOOT. I tried the AAHK method and now it seems to be perma-bricked. It's not even mine. It sometimes turns on, constantly vibrating. I have no idea what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have never rooted or any of that stuff. I will admit I had quite a bit of apps installed on my phone. I recently did an update and everything seemed fine. The other day I restarted my phone and it would not boot back up. It loops on it's own into the white screen with HTC on it. During the black screen I can hold down my buttons and get into HBOOT but no type of recovery or factory reset works. I did get it to boot into the OS once after this happened but once it lost the charge it will not boot up again. When I have my SD card in all these messages come up saying that some IMG.zip files are missing. When no SD is in it just shows the HBOOT screen. I cannot recover or Factory Reset either way.
My HBOOT screen reads

Once again I AM NOT IN ANY WAY ROOTED (have no clue what half of you guys are talking about on this forum LOL) and when I select Recovery or Factory Reset, whether my SD card is in or out it just continues to loop.
HOW CAN I FIX THIS THING?
go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193033 and follow from "download ruu"
How can I make sure USB debugging is turned on if I can't boot into my OS... I think it is but.... *sigh*

No. Nothing that should cause this. It had been showing the HTC screen a lot during navigation back to my home screen. I usually restart and this minimizes that action but this time it would not get past the HTC screen. I tried starting from where he told me. When I tried to flash the ROM it kept saying "battery voltage too low replace a battery" although it had been charging. When it charges the light never turns green like it used to. When I unplug the charger the orange light stays on. I finally tried it again and it said something about couldn't update, installed version is older. I did not do the S-OFF in the post he referred me to because I cannot boot into my regular home screen like it asks me to in some of those steps.
If you haven't done anything to it, leave it up to tmobile to fix it.
If s is on and you weren't rooted or. running a diff Rom just have tmobile worry about it.

so i rooted my HTC Sensatation and all that good stuff. everything was great. i tried to flash CM10 jellybean but my batter was low so as i was flashingg its stuck on the screen and wont go past it. it just stays on that screen like its trying to boot but wont boot. Also i didnt backup my stock phone....its not brick its a soft brick this is what i know. how do i get my phone back working? please help me!!! anything to point me in the right direction would be a great help....thank you
It would be good to have some more information about your device. S-off/S-on? What revovery do you have? If you are S-ON search for Asskicker's guide in the general section "Flashing roms with S-ON".
I used the htc one x tool to root and its s_off. Im usong cwm recovery. I thonks its on a soft brick because I didnt have it chrged qhen I tried to flaah it. What othr info do u need? I justt put the s_on back on thinking that would help but it didnt. Im all out of ideas I know my phone can be aaved I juat need help. What so I do???
Right it is quite difficult to understand what you are writing. So are you currently S-OFF or S-ON? What is you current HBOOT version?
By the way! Why did you use the ONE X tool? I know it is stated somewhere you may use it for the Sensation as well but there are other utilities tailored for the Sensation. Like kgs1992's All in One Utility! You should use that and you cannot go wrong! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668276
You want to be s-off (because life is easier when you are s-off)
For whatever reason, maybe low battery related, it sounds like your ROM didn't flash. This wasn't a big deal until you turned S-on again, thus making it more difficult to do these things.
Did the recovery give you any error during the flash? What screen is it stuck on? The splash screen (HTC logo) the boot animation (Blue circle with CyanogenMod in the middle) the recovery screen (mostly basic text telling you error messages)
If it's stuck on the splash screen....we'll discuss that as need
If it's stuck in the recovery screen giving you an error that you can't flash with the battery so low, charge the battery. Proceed with flashing.
If it's stuck on the boot animation...chill out and give it a few minutes. It takes time to boot the first time. If it stays on the boot animation for more than 10 minutes, reflash the ROM with the instructions below.
Turn s-off again if you can.
Boot back into recovery
Do a full wipe in CWM
Flash the ROM again.
If that doens't work download a fresh copy of the ROM and flash that instead.
If you're still stuck come back with VERY SPECIFIC details on what is on the screen where it gets stuck. And please, read your post first and correct gramatical errors. I assure you this will greatly help the XDA community to be able to help you instead of us trying to guess what you are saying.

Thanks for the reply. Im going to try that now. Hopefully it works. Whenever I press the power button to select an option from the HBOOT menu screen all it those is go to the HTC boot screen and freeze. Will report back.
Did you update the firmware to the latest? If not than that might be the issue.

I had previously rooted by ONE S T-Mobile version and it had been working fine. I then decided to try out another rom. I likely flashed an incorrect boot img because it would only reboot into fastboot, but would still allow me to go into recovery. I went to recovery and restored my nandroid backup; however, now the phone will get stuck on the opening HTC screen the red language on the bottom, "this build is for development purposes only." It will hang on this screen for about 20 seconds and then turn off. No loop. When I attempt to power up again, I get a quick horizontal flash of light across my screen and then the orange LED comes on in the top left corner indicating the phone is charging. I then hold down power and again the phone gets stuck on the opening HTC screen with the red language.
Any advice regarding a remedy would be much appreciated.

When p hone is on you'll have to power it off manually by pressing power for 10+ seconds. Then you should be able to enter the bootloader and fastboot. (Vol down + power) No matter if you have flashed a wrong kernel.

Thanks for the advice on how to enter the bootloader. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I try, using your method and a variety of other methods, I still can't get past "HTC developmental purposes only" screen. Thankfully I finally figured out how to consistently get my phone to enter into Fastboot; however, no the trouble I'm having is finding the proper RUU. I've tried the 3 T-mobile varients available in the RUU depository found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2094414
But alas, while I am able to run the RUU program, which enters my phone into a mode where the screen is all black expect for the HTC logo in the middle, I keep on getting error codes. Are there more than 3 RUU varients identified in the depository?
Oh, I should note that I was also able to get into recovery, but my SD was unable to mount so I can't find my Nandroid.
Also, while the RUU program recongizes that I have my phone attached, the Hasson utility does not, nor does my computer.
Which error code?

How did you enter the fast boot?
I was playing with System Files because of the low mic volume problem, rebooted and since then the phone does exactly like yours: 20sec of "this build is for development purposes only" then it switches off.
All button-combinations tried.
The PC in Printer and Devices sees it as an Android Phone, Device Manager sees a HTC MTP Device, but I don't see it in Windows Explorer.
Adb do not see any connected device.
I guess I have to change the motherboard.
I successfully rooted and S offed, was able to get into bootloader, turned the phone off, turned it on got into the home screen. Restarted it and now its just stuck on the verizon logo screen.

Hold the power/lock button and volume up for 10 seconds. If the phone doesn't restart, wait until the battery dies and restart your phone. If you have anything like I did, the problem will resolve itself once you restart.
If restarting does not fix it, wait for it to restart and do a factory reset.

If you want to get into recovery, hold power button + vol down. If you want to force reboot, hold power button + vol up for about 30secs.
this is resolved, thanks for everyone's help
Infamous84 - disable fast boot in power settings and it won't happen again
No need for a factory reset to anyone else reading this, just do the button combo the guy a few posts up says until it boots into the OS. Then uncheck fast boot and it won't happen again.
My good buddy helped me on that one.

Flash the latest s-on ruu (does not turn s on or require locked boot loader). That will get you booting again without data loss.

when i ran the update i had the stock RUU of Lollipop from dotat (i'm s-off and rooted) been running it for 3 months.
i did the proper update actually ota'd it and after the second part the same thing happened to me ... stuck on the verizon screen.
any idea why this would have happened?
i'm in the process of RUU again DOTTAT_VZWM8_S_OFF_SF_6.0_RUU.zip ... i couldnt find one that said S-ON so that i could keep the data. it was probably in the thread and i just couldnt tell which one was S-ON

That ruu is only hours old. Do you want help saving your data before you flash the 6.0 one?

I'm having the same issue.. stuck on verizon screen even after multiple restarts using vol up + power. power + vol down is not doing anything.. can't even get into bootloader to do a factory reset or anything. The device is not detected as well anywhere. What to do .. ?

To get to the bootloader you hold power+ vol-up. Then as soon as the phone restarts you switch to vol-down. The timing may take a few attempts but it's not hard.

well,
I wanted to try and get going again.
flashed TWRP 2.8.5 and did a /data backup thinking it might be needed...
wiped cache and dalvik just because
then I took this advice:

downloaded the S-ON RUU from dottat's developer downloads page.
transferred the zip to internal storage
renamed it to 0P6BIMG.zip thinking it might pick it up automatically, no it didn't
did fastboot oem rebootRUU
did fastboot flash zip 0P6BIMG.zip
then fastboot reboot
after what seemed to be the longest reboot ever... back with data intact!
thank you dottat (for a 2nd time) for sharing your expertise and modified files
pp donation on the way, its appreciated.
Ok. So let me start off by saying that while I'm technically minded and good with computers, I've never done anything like this with my phone (HTC M ONE 8), so if you can help me out It'd be super appreciated. Last night I was prompted by my phone to do the marshmellow upgrade. My phone is now completely stuck on the Verizon logo screen when trying to boot. I can get to the bootloader, but I have no idea where to go from here to get my phone not only working again, but with my data intact. My phone is NOT rooted. here's the info from the bootloader:

Verizon is overnighting me a new phone, but I'd rather just get this one going again so I don't lose important stuff, that's not backed up.
If you can walk me through this, it'd be amazing.
Thanks

Run the newest s-on ruu I posted. Then let it on that red screen for at least five minutes. I have an exe version that drives itself.

The exe is run on a computer connected to the phone. It has a whole gui for RUUing the phone from the computer and is pretty full-proof.
