Please follow this tutorial, it will lead you to flash firmware using Flashtool
How to install the newest Android 4.1.2 for Sony XPERIA S LT26i
a) First of all, you need to install driver into your PC (You can use PC Companion to do it)
b) Download and install latest Flashtool from HERE.
c) Download also Android 4.1.2 firmware (you can find it HERE or HERE) for Sony XPERIA S LT26i
d) Paste the ftf file downloaded in step c) to folder „Firmware“ included in the XPERIA Flashtool
e) Open the XPERIA Flashtool, click on flash and choose downloaded firmware, than click ok. Important - if you do not want to delete any data of your phone, just uncheck flashing userdata.sin file. All data will remain in your phone, but sometimes it can cause additional troubles. So it is better (and I recommend that) to do the backup of your personal data, than proceed with clean instalation and then restore your personal data.
f) Turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button
g) After few minutes all is done and your phone gets the new firmware
GOOD LUCK
TWRP should allow you to mount your device as USB device and install a zip file that contains a rom.

root your xperia tipo without downgrading
Many peoples claimed root for last Xperia Tipo update (both International 11.0.A.4.22 and Vodafone 11.0.A.4.25)because of the boost of performances of the phone. With this 2 updates the antutu benchmark app shows an increased value of score.DISCLAIMER: if your phone becomes a brick I'm not responsible of the damage.
1. Unlock your bootloader from xperia developers site (search on google)
2. Download freeXperiaProject CM10
3. Do a backup of your firmware from Sony Ericsson Update Service, copying the entire folder of Sony Ericsson update service to another folder.
Download flashtool from the link at the bottom of the post
Convert you files using Decrypt files function from the Tools menu of flashtool, selecting the folder where you saved files from Sony Ericsson Update Service
Select the 3 files having the beginning of the name FILE_
Add all the list of files to move them on the right
It will create a ftf file to flash from flashtool
Put it into the folder firmwares of flashtool
open it with win rar and save kernel.sin
From now follows these steps carefully.
Put the kernel.sin and the boot.img into you fastboot's root folder (example android-sdk-windows/platform-tools)
Shut down your xperia tipo
Press volume up key and keep it pressed when connecting your USB cable
Go on fastboot and type "fastboot flash boot boot.img
Type fastboot reboot
When the led becomes pink press the volume up key a lot of times
You should be into cwm recovery
Download the SuperSu flashable zip for universal root (link at the bottom of the post)
put it into your sdcard by mounting it (recovery will mnount external sd via usb)
unmount your usb and mount system, then go to install zip from sdcard -> apply zip from external storge (or sdcard)
apply the SuperSu zip
Detach you usb cable and remove the battery for about 30 seconds
reinsert battery and do not power on yyour device; press the fastboot volume up button and connect the usb cable
go back to fastboot and type fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
You are done, reboot your tipo and enjoy it rooted!

Your best bet would be to flash the stock firmware onto your device using flashtool.
1) Download flashtool from here: http://androxyde.github.io/
2) Download Miro firmware 11.0.A.5.5 from here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_d8uWGbkaetR1ZuSWlUcTNNQVk/edit?pli=1
3) Install flashtool to your computer, keep the install location default to keep things simple.
4) Move the firmware to the flashtool directory. Default path is C:\Flashtool\firmwares
5) Install the device drivers provided with flashtool. Default path is C:\Flashtool\drivers. Install every driver firmware possible.
6) Open flashtool and click the lightning bolt. Select flash mode.
7) In the new window select your Miro firmware what you moved to the firmwares folder. Do NOT change any of the tick boxes as doing so can cause complications. Press okay.
8) Let flashtool prepare the file for flashing. Once it has it will ask you to connect your device in flash mode. To do so plug the large USB end into your computer, remove your phones battery and leave the back off. Connect the small end of the USB cable to your phone and hold the volume DOWN (-) button. Insert the battery. This puts your phone into flash mode.
9) Let flashtool work its magic. It takes about 2-5 minutes to make your phone work again.
10) Enjoy your working phone.

For Flashing Stock ROM fastboot drivers are not required, only flashmode drivers are required which Windows manages to get them easily. I wanted fastboot drivers for my phone which were in Flashtool -> Drivers folder. But the installing always used to fail. After lot of google searches I found out as the drivers were not digitally signed Windows used to block it's install process. If you are having same problem just Google 'How to disable driver signature enforcement in Windows'. It helped for me
[Q] Bassoon 7" dual sim .zip SDcard recovery rom needed or USB driver for flashtool
Ls,
I'm trying to help a friend who deleted too many files from his Bassoon 7"dual sim tablet.
Now it fails to make calls and keeps saying that: "unfortunately, the system laucher has stopped".
I have no idea what he deleted (after I adviced him to install SU so he could move apps to the SDcard, so i feel responsible)
So im trying to reinstall the entire thing.
Factory reset doesnt help.
On needrom.com I found some jxd p1000 roms that might work(apparently the bassoon 7"is a jxd p1000 clone)
I have found several roms on needrom.com that might apply.
There's only 1 .zip rom that will attempt to install from SDcard. It starts but fails after a while because its the wrong ROM prob. It has android 4.1.1 and the tablet says 4.2.2.
The other roms require the flashtool.
I tried all possible flashtool that were adviced on this, and other, forums.
The problem is that the flashtools dont seem to recognize the device, neither does adb.exe.
I can use sideload but dont have the right .zip file for it. I can also copy it to the sdcard and use; recovery boot and install from SDcard but again, i dont have the right .zip ROM for that.
WIndows recognizes and is able to acess the device as a USB or as a m72_nand_p88 device.
I have installed the MTP-65xx usb drivers. some HTC usb drivers (windows reported the device as a HTC desire at some point) and the ADB usb drivers(windows reports the device as a ADB usb device if connected in recovery mode)
Questions(calls for help );
- Is there a USB driver that I haven't found that will enable me to use the flashtools so I can try the other ROMS from needrom.com
and/or
- Is there a way to convert the .rar ROMS that use the scatterfile to a .zip that i can use in reboot recovery from SDcard or use ADB sideload
and/or
:cyclops: :silly: im going crazy here....
Recap:
- I cant connect to the device with the flashtool
- I do not have the rom in a .zip that I can use in recovery from SDcard :silly:
- I do not know how, or if its possible to, convert the scatterfile/flashtool roms to a format (.zip) that I can use with recovery from SDcard or sideload (the scatterfile .rar roms are about 170Mb the .zips are about 400+ Mb so eitehr they are pre-unpacked-installed...?)
- I seriously have no idea what to do next..
Device:
samsung p1000 look alike clone; it has dual sim, 7 inch display, says bassoon on the back.

Greetings Mac,
I have a similar problem with same tablet but I was able to fine the direct download site for Bassoon. It's in Chinese but you can figure it out. Scroll to the model and version (version # under 2nd battery i.e. 061) as well as the , click on link and on the page there is a down arrow and horizontal bracket on button on top to download. "SP_Flash_Tool". I am currently downloading the rom for my device but will post results.

Did you install boot.img from other ROM??
Read this link first: http://xperiafirmware.com/2-uncategorised/30-androxyde-xperia-flashtool
2. Download flashtool from
http://www.firmwaremobile.com/index.php/xperiadownload/file/233-flashtool-9-2014
3. Download the firmware from
http://d-h.st/nCu
4. Install the flashtool in C:
5. Go to C:\flashtool\flashtool drivers and install the drivers
6. paste the ftf firmware file downloaded in step 3, to folder „Firmware“ included in the XPERIA Flashtool i.e. C:\flashtool\firmwares
7. open the XPERIA Flashtool, click on flash and choose downloaded firmware, than click ok.
8.*turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button*
9. after few minutes all is done and your phone gets started
Hit thanks if it helped!! And tell me when it is done

ST23I Cannot Install ROM after Clockworkmod Install , any help appreciated
Hi all.
This 60 yr old bloke cant take stuff in too easy these days so please be patient with me.
I do the clockwork mod as in post #1
I check by turning phone ON and pressing down vol button . YES , It's now ROOTED and I get the options in clockwork-mod.
I clear cache and Delivik .
Now I try to install zip ( yes I put ..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1702748&d=1359981583 ... Into my SD card , along with the gapps stripped.zip )
Unfortunately I I cannot get to the external_SD card as it is NOT mounted. I cannot even see it after I click "mount external-SD" .
To be truthful I am a little confused as to how I get a ROM either onto the Xperia ST23I internal memory or external SD card.
At one point I bricked it but used the sony PC companion and brought it back , I tried install CWM again and success but again have the same problem ... I cant get to the zips on external SD .
Any guidance would be appreciated , especially since I spent the last 3 days going round and round on forum threads.
Please explain ?

Did you install boot.img from other ROM??
Read this link first: xxxxx
2. Download flashtool from xxxxx
3. Download the firmware from xxxxx
8.*turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button*
9. after few minutes all is done and your phone gets started
Hit thanks if it helped!! And tell me when it is done

When you install Flashtool you'll have folder in Flashtool/drivers there is driver.exe just double click it select fastboot and flash drivers and install. If you have Windows 8/8.1 you'll have to disable signature verification first, search for it ther are plenty tutorials how to.

Hi, Thank you , your expalanation was very clear . Only problem is I do see all the drivers but there is none for ST23I which is my device.
If I look in Devices folder I DO see the ST23I folder ... BUT .. when I click in > C:\Flashtool\drivers then double click the ICON ( Flashtool-drivers ) it comes up with the options list and tick boxes yet my device is NOT shown . In fact NO ST devices are shown as options.
Still puzzled !

Just install sony pc companion.
Once installed , connect your phone in flashmode (green led) and it will install required drivers by itself.
Press the thumb up button on lower right hand corner of this post if I helped you.

Hi, I already have it installed and have used it several times ...... 2 times to unbrick and return to stock rom .
To be truthfull, I do appreciate your help but feel that I m out of my depth . Bit too old to take it all in .
I have clockwork installed but cannot get acces to any zips I put onto external SD . The problem is there is NO Boot image so I am still stuck with the stock rom. Even if I mount the External SD via CWM it does not give me access to external. I am trying to download the zips to the phone via my dropbox to phone internal memory . I will see how that goes. I am still messing , you never know I might just get lucky.
Once again ,thank you so much .
Emergency!
What i did is flash stock kernel with fusion kernel for Xperia miro. the phone won't boot. i reflashed stock kernel. in cwm i wiped system partition, cache, and dalvik cache and installed super jelly bean rom with stock kernel. upon reboot my phone is stuck in sony logo. i flashed fusion kernel again but no boot. lastly, i flashed stock kernel and is hung in bootloop. Can you hep me please. My stock rom is in sd card. if only i could acces it with cwm i'd restore my stock rom. please help me. thank you.

( Help me ) NewFlasher Flashing Method
Hi,
Somethings wrong with your flashing.
do the thing only what i do ok.
1. if you have original download file from downloaded by xperiafirm, open it.
2. if not download the file again.
3. then open it and copy only .sin files to new folder name as XZP.
4. go to the downloaded file and there is a rar file name as partition.
5. extract that file to that new folder with name as partition in XZP folder.
6. then copy the newflasher.exe to the XZP folder.
7. Run newflasher.exe
8.type N and click enter.
9. then connect your phone to the PC while touching your Phone volume down key.
10. wait until finish the process and press ok and disconnect the phone.
11. switch on and you can see it as new one

I have flashed my phone. but nothings change. but you cant safe your documents and data. because your phone already software crashed. so you can do it.
please note. this app is not recommended like flash tool. but you have no option to recover your phone.
did you try to repair your phone using Xperia companion.
before flashing using new flasher. try to repair your phone using Xperia Companion. which is officially recommended application. open xperia companion and click repair then select phone and wait until show you connect your phone with press and hold volume down key. if this works no need to use new flasher. if this not work you have to use new flasher
