[Q] Root Desire and which Rom

Hello.
Can someone please tell me how to root htc desire and which rom is currently the best? By best I mean fastest. Or is there any link where are descriptions of roms?

go to this site and read, read, read every step.

replace the rom you want with a rom of your choosing.
also, it pays to read into things before asking others. If you investigated this forum your would find a whole section dedicated to android development for the desire, and guides on how to root and flash new roms. From the sounds of it, you are not quite ready to root your desire. Read up more on the process.

You are referring to custom roms? you will find that with many of the custom roms, they are faster because they are stripped out versions...that will allow you have more options to choose from.
Faster? maybe because many of the gimmicks are gone....I am using DeFroST 5.6 on my HTC Desire at the moment...its faster than the original HTC rom because it doesnt have the HTC applications or the HTC Sense UI...give that a try...pretty happy with it!

i recommend leedroid and install it using rom manager available from the marketplace. or if you dont want htc senc the any of the cyanogenmod roms i.e opendesire

Hai,this is my new post in Sensation's thread.
I'm concerning about the root method and Rom of both of the device(sensation and sensation XE,
Here is my question:
1)are both of the device use the same root methode?
2)are both of the device use the same ROM/GPS/kernal?
3)Do the DSP manager really could do just like the beats audio of sensation XE?
I will be very appreciate if someone could help me to anwers my question

Hi,
The two phones are virtually the same in terms of hardware.
1.Root both the same way(see s-off in my sig)
2.Use any ROM from THIS THREAD
3.Some ROMS have Beats.Some do not.Use whatever DSP you like.

How to port sense roms from one x to xe

There is no point in porting a One X ROM because everything needs to be resized and not all things (.m10 images) can be resized yet. Try going to One S forum and Ville or Ville C2 ROMs.
Also porting is extremely difficult and requires proper knowledge and use of logcats and countless hours work and as such there is no 100% n00b proof solid guide, its trial and error so If your a n00b ten my advice would be dont attempt it

[Q] HTC Sensation XL

I just got a HTC Sensation XL , my first android phone and figured out that it is not root-ed
So my first taught was, that i should root the phone and install the best suitable rom available
My questions are: could you provide me whit a link which contains the safest root-ing programs and downloads
Could you tell me which is the latest and/or best configured rom available for my Sensation XL

[Q] how to downgrade version from 4.0- 2.3

guys i have a htc sensation xe z715e viper s 1.6.3 ics4.0.4 modded and i need to downgrade to 2.3 for performance
but i tried many kinds of 2.3 roms but all were not working
the phone stopped at the htc logo and i am using 4ext recovery

First, welcome to the forum. This is a place where you will get lots of resources about cellphones, especially HTC.
Second, you should read the forums rules first. The main principle is to self-help first - look for answers by doing a search. You should have searched for posts related to "4ext recovery" and ask questions there, or search for answers in the correct forum for your phone model. There is a search for your phone from the box "Type To Find Your Device ..." which appears on the top of every page, or use the "Search" for a more general search.

When you ask, it will also be most helpful if you give more information, like:
Is your phone rooted?
How was your phone upgraded from the original GB 2.3.3 to ICS - custom ROM, or HTC ROM?
What are the types of 2.3 ROMs you tried?
What you did (processes) when flashing from the 4ext recovery? (eg, did you wipe/format?)
The more information you can give about what you did and observe will help whoever is trying to offer help.

yes my phone is rooted and unlocked bootloader but is on s-on mode and running viper s 1.6.3 4.0.4
4ext recovery
i tried many roms like miui cm9.0 pyramid wp7
cleared /data / cache wpied battery stats
and smartflash enabled
but all restarted with just the htc logo and its not working .....
