what's your battery life/your usage?
i'd use my phone pretty heavy during the day - wi-fi on for maybe an hour, 1 hour of video playback, approximately half an hour of music, half an hour of apps/games, half an hour reading, a few minutes talk. could it last the whole day?
It surely will!
I Play music 2 Hrs a day, 1 hr on Wifi, 30 min of Video and lasts 2 days easily!

At an average i am getting 1 & 1/2 to 2 Days on normal usage which pretty good on any android mobile, i will play games for 1 to 2 hours, Browsing for 1 hour and call's max 1 hour.
I don't even get an entire 12 hours on weekdays.
College.
But I go through Saturdays and Sundays on one charge.
centrifugal ducatk
i bought 2 batteries
I charge overnight and use it the whole day... Happy with it.. And sometimes charge it while driving.. Keeping brightness to as low as possible and increasing it only outdoors helps a lot... Cheers.
Use a black background/wallpaper, instant battery boost, I generally end the day with 50% batt. and I tend to listen to a lot of music, play games @ lunch and use the data connections a lot
First, a LCD screen does not get anything from a black wallpaper, or at least it isn't significant.
Second, how much time do you spend looking your wallpaper during the day?
I Use it on Auto Brightness and a Bright Color Wallaper!
Use it for 1 Hr Music, max 30min of gaming, 30min - 1Hr Wifi Browsing with Bg data On, 30 min call and 100 sms messages!
Yet I get 2-3 Days off it.
Its an awesome phone!
If you are not using "Hi Galaxy" disable it, double click on the home button -> settings -> voice talk settings -> uncheck wake up command.
it will save you battery by at least 5 to 10%....

Battery life depends on usage ofc unless you got some fake or defected battery sitting at the back. I think it's possible to get a better battery.
I charge mine overnight and it kinda lasts through the day. With about 4-5 hours of music and 2 hours or maybe more of games. I keep brightness on auto cuz the light detection thing is real nice and it keeps the brightness at a near perfect level except when my fingers get in the way of the detectors which are near the front camera.
I'm guessing if you use this phone for just calls and messages and when listening to music if the screen is switched off, it should last at least 3 days.
Also my Wi-Fi is on all the time and I have a live wallpaper ^_^
You could prolly make the battery drain really quickly if you play music and keep brightness on full while playing some hd game like shadowgun.

Well, black being the off state of an lcd pixel... Cba to explain.
Derp on derper
First thing is don't use widgets which use internet .......
The best thing is use DROIDWALL app from market and .........block the internet to apps which u will not use internet
Example :1). if ur are using gmail then block email app
2) some games in which more adds will come so better to block that also for not using internet for disable adds
3) for me I will not use maps, places, latitude .....so I will block that also
This the stuff that helps to increase my battery life

Black is not 'off' in an LCD display. You are confusing that with an OLED display.
SGS2 has an SAMOLED+ display. In that a black pixel is truly off. That does save power.
But in an LCD screen like the one on SGR, even black is on. It is just colored black. Try looking at a black image on your phone and then switching the screen off. You will see the difference.
I read all 15 million post on what other people's use is and getting over 4 hours of screen time, but no one is saying what the do to get all that screen and use time. Can someone shed some light on what I am doing wrong? I get just over 3 hours of screen time with the phone off the charger for about 24 hours. I only several 3g and no juice defender. I keep Bluetooth and gps off all the time.
Would someone please post some tips? I'll click thanks for any tip that helps me out.
Thanks a million
3 hours screen time for 24 hours discharging is really good

So the other day i put my note 10.1 on the charger and went to sleep , and because of my sleeping dissorder i slept for about 30 hours... Soo my worry is that since i left my tablet on the charger the whole time i was sleeping, that It might have caused damage to my devices battery :S i tried to find answers for this on Google, but could not find an spesific answer :/ so i hoped one of you guys had any clue about this
Hope you guys can calm my nerves
PS.. Sorry about the horrible grammar. Im norwegian and my tablet Has the most annoying autocorrect ever

these days i am lucky to get 6 hours sleep let alone 30, i wish i could sleep that long.
Leaving it plugged in for a day and a half won't reck the battery, but leaving it plugged in for it's whole life or not letting it have a full charging cycle (ie: charging to 50% and unplugging it and/or draining to 60% and then plugging it in) will slowly reck the battery. Hope this helps you.

If you're waiting for a train some train stations will allow you to charge your devices, you can be sneaky or ask them but I've never had any issues with this. Also MCDonalds are sometimes open to around 12PM but they can close at varying times but again they should allow you to charge your device. Most small, independent cafes open at around 12PM will probably let you charge your device if you ask.
Also if you're near a shopping center then some have little docks where you pay a small amount and leave your phone in a safe to charge but since you want to use them that could be an issue.
I'd also suggest looking at the late night restaurants as most will have a small cafe/bar section where you can work quietly.
Hi,
This is my 3rd day with the watch which I like so far but I was wondering: so far, what is your impression of the battery life?
Yesterday I drained it and food a full charge (about 1.5hrs) and it looks like it will survive fit an approx 24 hours. I've tried to have only light activity (send and receive few messages, play with a few watch faces etc.
From the Samsung gear app on my phone it shows that watch faces takes the majority of the power (makes sense as it's the most running app). In the 2nd place I see "settings"
Also, any proven suggested modification to dramatically improve battery life?
Where is the "no thanks" button??
I have had my Frontier for three weeks tomorrow and the battery lasts three days and still has 10% left. Looks like it takes time to condition the battery.

No, did set it when I first got it but with a twist of the wrist the display comes on so why bother. I do wear it every day and shealth runs in the background. My two sons have Apple watches and they say the battery only lasts the day and always charge at night.
I have a Non LTE frontier. I have everything on - AOD, most notifications, have used some GPS today, location on. I'm sure I could get 2 full work days out of it. I charge nightly anyway but have yet to have less than 55% left if I put the watch on at 6am and go to bed around 10pm. I'm more than happy with the battery.
Are you interested in metrics just for the sake of it? Under all reasonable circumstances, the S3 will last more than 24 hours. This, combined with its quick charging cycle means that the battery life of this watch has no impact on real-world functionality. I would probably be considered a heavy user: the S3 is my primary phone so it's in standalone mode (LTE always on) with AOD. I wear it at night to track sleep patterns. When I arise, I put it on the charger while I get ready for the day. So the watch is worn 23 hours per day and recharged for one. Most use cases are less demanding than mine and thus require an even less rigorous schedule.
When a device requires charging 20 minutes a day or 30 minutes every other day, battery life discussions become kinda trivial.
I had this issue my first day, It doesnt have a built in way to take out apps that are draining alot of power. SO after I use apps like the media player and such i remove them from ram and it lasts a ton longer.
It takes a few days to settle.
I have everything turned on, enabled, maxed, AOD, brightness, location, wifi, bluetooth, volume, vibration, synced with phone. And I get 2 FULL days out of it.
I don't use the AOD on my watch and I've had mine for about 2 weeks. I can consistently go at least 12 hours with battery remaining around 93%. Granted I don't use any of the SHealth functions because I don't need it, but I get my notifications from my device and frequently switch watch faces.
I don't use AOD and get a good 3 days between charging, one thing I did that improved things was changing from a white watch face to a dark almost black one
When i first received the S3 Frontier, I was getting around 8 hours the first day and 1/2 that on 2nd day.
Mostly due to a new toy and constantly playing with everything.
Now for 12 hours, I lose about 13-18 %.
I have the LTE model with AOD off, BT on and wi-fi off
sound at 15, screen at 5 and screen time out at 30 sec.
Email linked to exchange ( ~ 40-60 emails)
Text - < 100 a day
inbox notices from google
all sounds and vibrations enabled.
Number synced.
< 10 min. on phone
Currently getting 2 days on the battery with everything set to on. Screen brightness set to 5.
I do switch it off at night as I see no need to have it powered up whilst asleep. Always on display is switched on along with Wifi too.
Without AoD and Wifi on I can make 3 days.
Happy with it.
Frotier LTE: I get one full day.
I get one full day 7AM to 1AM.
Brightness: 4
Always On: Yes
Auto low brightness: On
Screen Timeout: 15 seconds
Bluetooth: Always on
Network: Always on <--this is a biggie. BTW: Setting this setting to ON is the only way to get text and phone calls from BOTH you cell phone number and your watch phone number simultaneously.
Phone calls: 10-12 a day.
Text: 10-12 a day
Notifications: ~50 a day
New toy factor: Play with it too much.

what am I doing wrong? My watch doesn't turn on half the time I flip my wrist. Any suggestions on how to flip my wrist corrrectly?
@joe1234567890
I have a non LTE Frontier (UK) S3 and that may be why I get the three days compared to you, not really sure.
Is it anyway to stop all shealth fonctionality except the cardiometer?
I'm at 11% right now with 4day 13hr 37mins on battery. Only use it for notification and some samsung pay. AOD off. Frontier LTE version.
Frontier BT version, 3rd day in use, first load lasted 2 days, aiming for 3
Aod off
Brightness 2
Dark watchface
Wifi off
BT always on
~50 messages/d
10 phone calls/d
1 hour/d playing with new apps and stuff
1 hour/d training program
Not too bad
In my experience, this thing has awesome battery life. Even better than my Huawei. I have the brightness at maximum, have the AOD enabled, and use the Chronograph+ face. I get notifications on it pretty frequently throughout the day, and when i get home after an 8-9 hour work day, the Gear S3 usually has around 75% battery life left.
