I did some multiwindow themes for the S4 and decided to start some for the Note 8 since MW is probably used more often on larger screen devices. These have been tested on a N5110 running CivZ-FLEX-BEAM 4.2.2 rom but should work on any stock based rom. **Confirmed working on the 5100 as well.**
As always make sure you have a backup before flashing. The user takes full responsibility for anything that may happen to his/her device.
**If anyone wants to incorporate these into your theme/rom package you may do so. Just please give credit w/link to this thread and shoot me a heads up on where theme is used. Please do not make changes to any images or post zip links.**
To install just wipe cache in favorite recovery and flash as normal. Please test and post your findings to help others. Let me know if there is anything found that might need to be corrected. More to follow. Enjoy.
**If you want to return back to stock N8 MW theme than flash this: Stock MW

Not taking requests right now. I just don't have the time to devote to it. More will be added but I work on them when I can and make them for the S4 as well. Thanks for the feedback though.

Are you on the stock rom and if so what version? Might try extracting the apk and pushing to system/app and rebooting.
Otherwise, post some more info on your device setup.

Could you tell which file should be modified to change only the MW mode indicator (attached pic), so I could try to make it is less obtrusive? Stock indicator covers too much screen, and your glass theme, while very nice, is tiny little bit too transparent for my ageing eyes. Thanks.

Are you referring to the left handle pull (this is what I see in the pic)? If so just go into the zip and you will easily see them in drawable-xxhdpi.
Transparancy is what makes it minimal which was the intent. When I get time will probably make a frosted glass one which might be easier to see. Also remember that you can hold the back button down to easily reveal or hide the tab.

Then don't flash it. Not sure why it is so scary when you can do a nandroid and restore easily (which you should be doing anyways) but to each his own. Rename the original apk and push the modified one and reboot. If something doesn't work right (not sure why) then just rename orginal and reboot. A lot more flexibility with these because the framework is not touched.

I like the transparent theme, but there's too much confusion when there are other icons in the background. Maybe the best solution would be a frosted theme or a 50% transparency.

It was only a suggestion, as I said I like the transparent theme, but after having tried it I have found that in certain cases (depends on the background) it's difficult to understand what's in the MW bar and what's in the background.
I don't need a fix, I simply wish you could add a new theme with less transparency.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your work.

If anyone's interested, below is my attempt at having unobtrusive MW handles:
- closed handle: smaller and 66% transparent (see screenshot)
- closed-pressed handle: normal size and 50% transparent
- extended handle and everything else is unchanged (stock white)
Thanks to OP for inspiration and hints.

Nice idea, I like the little handle. What about a bit of transparency for the extended handle too? Maybe 50% or 33%

I'm really sorry, but it will not happen, mainly b/c serious lack of any free time (but also due to my pathetic graphical soft skills). If you'd want to try it yourself, here's what needs to be done:
0. unzip the apk file
1. find the images you want to change (path to the right folder is inside the res.zip file in my previous post)
2. edit the images to achieve required looks
3. replace images within the apk file
4 replace the apk within the zip file
5. flash
Step 1 is time consuming as it may require putting numbers inside every image and flashing such mod just to identify which image shows when.
Step 2 requires basic working knowledge of graphical soft (GIMP, Photoshop etc.), not my strongest skill.
What I can do is zipping, but it's probably nothing to brag about here; nevertheless if you were willing to try playing with images by yourself, I could pack it and post here.

-TWO DIFERENT COLOR COMBINATIONS x TWO DIFERENT CLOCK POSITION MAKE....TADAAAA! 4 STATUS BAR THEMES
-B&W WILL DELIGHT THOS WHO SHOW OFF THEIR ELEGANCE, CLEAN INTERFACE, NO TEXT, JUST ICONS, THE ONLY COLOR IS IN BATTERY TO HELP YOU NOW IF IT'S GREEN (OVER 15%) OR RED (UNDER15%)

Use root explorer or any other file explorer that allows you to write over system folder and just remove the file from your phone , and I woul recommend you to use Rocket Rom. The closest to stock just slightly tweaked for performance and gorgeous battery life

Wow that's great thanks for the info it worked! Awesome transparent pull-down now & loving the extra options!
Now say I wanted to change the icons (i.e. I like digital battery theme). Do you know, would it simply involve using a program like 7zip to just go in & swap the images? Or would I have to recompile & sign the zip & stuff?

IT would work if you choose the right pngs and change their names to match exactly the ones in the apks and if they are same size , I have not decompile anything. I am waiting for eybee197p to help me with that. But even without decompiling and recompiling It works OK

This is probably because I'm using stock, but the iPhone-style clock ( )in the middle of the status bar is interfering/overlapping with status bar notifications. Like I just updated a market app & when I got the status bar "app successfully updated" it overlapped with the clock. Any fix?

Hello,
I am running the latest 4.1.2 update on my Verizon Galaxy S III, which makes the Kinda Crap Mods not work propertly, and the mod is not looking to be updated.
I have extracted 2 sets of icons, one blue, and the other green, that are the icons required for the Circle Battery Icons, and the files need to be created to have the 1% icons work. I tried doing this myself, and it did not change percentages as expected. That's why I am posting here.
What I was looking for is to have a recovery flashable file with the AROMA installer, that gives the option for blue or green. That's all.
I am in no way an Android "mod maker" myself, but if there are basic things that could use some help, I'm here.
Thanks to whoever can make this happen!
Kindacrap will install as long as you DO NOT select and install the policy or framework.

Try this and let me know if it works for you.... Flash in recovery or extract the systemui.apk from it and push it to your system/app folder. it replaces your systemui.apk so if you have other mods done to it, they most likely will be lost. this is the green one if it works i'll put the blue one... thanks

If the rom has the option to change your battery within the settings, pick the stock option and it should work. Otherwise PM me your SystemUI.apk if that doesn't work and either later tonight or tomorrow morning I'll make another one that works and post it here

I put it in a UFT zip and edited file names to be compatible with more than just one single TW rom for a single device. Now thanks to my help with his original work, it is compatible with AOSP, TW and GE roms for any device. not to mention VRthemes (like the other guy posted) are only good for CWM or TWRP. there are separate VRtheme templates for each. eww. my UFT is compatible with both cwm and twrp, and all 3 rom types on any xxhdpi device.

Dear friends,
First thanks to TRusselo for its nice work.
I see some people have problems with this theme. I think that coming from the fact that the MOD is a VR themes, and some mods are not possible with this kind of project. The advantage of it is that they are universal, but they can only patch resources like icons/pictures and sometime its not enough.
If you study the original MOD, you will see that the author also work on layout XML files (signal_cluster_view) which are compiled for a particular ROM so they cannot be used in a VR mod. You won't be able to have the "stacked" signal icons that way from original SystemUI.
The problem of the battery is the same : some systemUi have been changed by ROM makers to extend the original behaviour (animated charge battery ...). We can see in the icons directory that the icons are patched in the drawable-xhdpi resource directory while most of the SystemUi use drawable-xxhdpi directory and tw_stat_sys_battery_xxxx file names.
For all those reasons I'm afraid that the only way to achieve the original MOD with all its feature is to rebuild the original files and to replace them on ROMS. I've done it for me, I will try to share a version for latest TW roms.

its not a VRtheme zip, its a Universal Flasher Theme zip. 2 different but similar methods. and with both, it doesnt work with ANY rom but, also can..
there are some TW roms that this does work on, others not, works better with AOSP and GE roms, but there's one or 2 they dont. Subtle differences break functionality. Some custom TW roms have the stacked icons incorporated already, and allows this to work. other roms have no send/receive icons at all, and yes some xposed modules take over icons.

Hi gonemad02
I do not speak for the dev but I think the answer will be "not in this thread".
The gap that existed between 4.2.x and 4.3 was kid play compared to the one between 4.3 and KitKat. Huge png's changes are leeding themers to redo all the source from scratch.
But it's just my thought.
Nice regards.

Hi -Koze-
As you are ONLY dealing with PNG's replacements it's technically impossible to harm any device. The reports should be verified with clean install and known procedures.
When the time come, shortly I hope, to start modding xml's there will be the time to be careful with these kind of issues.
Just an last question that had already been made by @cuite_zhangh ... Are you decompiling and recompiling (using apktool or so) all those .9.png's ? Because from my own mistakes plainly stated here, that wi-fi thing may be happen to you for the same reasons.
Be welcome to if any advise needed.
Nice regards.

@ op
flashed it on my 9500 and everything is working fine.
One more suggestion, one thing the theme badly misses is the tw dialog divider line, since tw theme dosent supports dialo box divider why not try embed it on tw dialog middle png ? , if i get some time ill try to make it for u

AWESOME man!! Amazing theme, minimalist but looks elegant here. And good point is my wifi still working. Just find some glitch on notification toggle, i see green icon appear between i turn off/on the button. And i agree with @bela_gamer, maybe you can change the scrolling effect, with glowing effect or anything better. This one looks good but should be better and smoother fade effect.

Hi Everyone
Just tested on bruce2728 - and they work. So should work on any stock ROM odexed or deodexed.
I see some of my uploads are missing from Dev-Host - If required, please shout and I'll re upload them.
This thread will be a WIP (work in progress).
I would like it to be a place where the modders can showcase and publish their efforts, show off screenshots and share Zips.
Be patient, be kind and I'm sure some of us will even accept requests, within reason and time permitting, of course.
Personally, I work all day, have a family and this is just a hobby!
All those Pardus users who enjoy modding their LG G2 climb on board and post your mods with pictures for all to see - just please help out if any problems arise.
I set this up for the Pardus modders amongst us. The Popup mods will work on any stock based ROM I think. (Let me know :good
The standard 12 pngs used by LG for the popup variations are the ones modded. LG has ALL of them in drawable-xxhdpi in white, which makes it an easy mod.
I've reserved a few of the first posts, perhaps I can create an index of posts with interesting and useful mods - to make them easy to find.
To All users - It is your phone - you decide what happens too it - make a BACKUP before you flash anything.
That said, I test everything I make on my phone (how else do I get those screenshots ) before it goes on here and will try and help where I can if you have any problems.
Some of mine as a starter.
Downloads are on my Dev-Host - please read descriptions.
I will add more screenshots of the mod zips as I make them.
To all those who have helped and guided me, THANK YOU.
To @pendroz - for his great ROM Pardus
and his permission to use and abuse it with my mods.
The whole great bunch from the S2 Forum - way too many to mention.
To @xanthrax - for his Discussion thread - Discussion and Q&A
xda Developers - I'm glad I found you. Old dogs can learn new tricks!
I created a Guide a while back - it was for Jelly Bean and the Galaxy S2 - but the principles all still apply.
Have a read - it will help you I'm sure. I will update it for KK and LG when I get the time and re-post it here.
PNG swopping guide
For Instance:
You have this :
BUT you want this :
The guide will help you do it!
Again
and Again - just in case
And one for luck and a 9 patch png guide I have in mind
great mate ! LG , life`s good but ... we can make it even better !
subscribed to thread.. cant wait to see a bit of variety!!!

Good Day trabucaire - yes those can all be installed - I would prefer to help you do it than just provide a zip, so as soon as time permits I'll put a guide together.
As a starter - those would all have to be replaced in LGSystemUI.apk in two folders drawable-xhdpi and drawable-xxhdpi.
If you have the icons you want and can use 7Zip to replace - you can try following this guide here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43773654&postcount=4
It was set up with JB and an S2 ROM in mind, so filenames etc will be different, but the principles still apply.
I will update it for KK and Pardus some time.
If you are still stuck - I'll try find Dori's zip file.
that rom is good but i dont like your new circle on the setting button that in the notification panel, how can i make it look like 7.1 again without that circle?

Now this is what makes the whole thing worthwhile - another modder on a growth path! :good:
Well done and thanks for sharing!
@reemar - perhaps you could try following the same guide I pointed trabucaire too and see if you can make your own mod for your phone.
The ICONS you want to change are all in LGSystemUI.apk in the res/drawable-xxhdpi folder.
You can pull the old ones from the 7.1 apk and drop them into the 7.2 LGSystemUI.
I think this is exactly what xda is all about - make your own mods or at least try - we will help.

LG G2 setting>about phone banner
Hello everyone I know this thread is pointed out specifically for the PardusHD rom and well d802 devices but I was wondering if maybe someone can help me with the following problem :
I am in the process of trying to add a custom logo or banner if you prefer to the lgsettings about phone but I ran into a bump in the road, I know you need to deodex/decompile make your changes/recompile/reodex and your done, the changes made are as follows:
-add logo.xml to lgsettings/res/layout which will point out to where the new logo is
-add logo.png to lgsettings/res/drawable don't really need an explanation here
-edit device_info_settings.xml in lgsettings/res/xml whit the following line <PreferenceScreen android:layout="@layout/logo" android:key="od_logo" /> right after xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
recompile create flashable zip with original in case of bootloops and flash, after rebooting and going into setting>about phone there is no logo but I know that sometimes the logo is placed in settings>about phone>software version and when I try to go to it I just get a quick settings force close and then the settings restart inside the about phone so my question is do you know what might be going wrong, if you need any information from me like the lines in logo.xml or anything related just let me know and I can get you the information
Thanks in advance and have a pleasant day/night
