Hey. Thanks for the fast answer. I am still a noob when it comes to android terminology but radio means better data connectivity ? Such as calls and sms and data network right ? Or am I mistaken ?

So if I update my firmware now, do I have to reinstall my current rom ? (revelation 1.0.2) ? or i can flash as OTA ?

firmware it has nothing to do with rom
just follow the instructions to the letter
and before flashing check md5 sums
the rom will remain untouched

ok but what if i dont like the new firmware ? the nandroid backup wont help me if it doesnt have to do nothing with it. so i have to reflash 1.17 and again flash 3.32 ? will i keep root and soff ? sorry for the questions just i am not informed about the firmware

no need to go so back(to 1.17)
just flash directly your previous firmware
you won't lose S-OFF and root
once again proceed with caution

Here are stock RUU ROM's http://www.filefactory.com/f/c87a2330449af512/ and here are instructions how to flash it (STEP 5) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
It's very important that You have to flash a same or similiar RUU version as your phone came with. FAILURE TO DO THIS MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE.

Your RUU should be for sensation (not LE), Europe, your original baseband.
You may be able to identify it from the list above from these 3 pieces of information although you ideally match it to the software version also.
Do you have a nandroid of your original rom to get that?

Hey, I have backup of my original firmware. How can I use those files the right way since i have s-off, firmware, radio,.....
OK there's a RUU in the aforementioned dev sticky that seems to match to me:
RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.45.401.2_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M_
So that's for standard sensation, Europe (don't see any IT specific RUU except a Voda branded), no carrier branding, for your radio version quoted above. That's what I would use.

[Q] Why S-off?

Hello guy's
I have been searching on xda and google, but did not find a clear answer for my question. I know that S-off allows you to do anything to your phone, and i read 'Alpharev'.
I have unlocked my bootloader, flashed the recovery and rooted my Sensation Hboot 1.27.. using the Hasoon All in one toolkit.
The phone is still s-on and i flashed cyanagenmod 9. All working.
The question is: Wat difference does it make when i make my phone s-off? Is it meaningfull to do it?
I am just a noob on this territory, so is it usefull for me to doe the ('risky') wire-trick to S-off my phone?
Thank you!

Hi,
S-off will enable you to flash different firmwares and radios, and any RUU.
Until you NEED to do any of those things, you are OK on s-on.
What the post above says, there's really no need to unless you're gonna be messing with radios, different firmware, cid, and stuff like that

Okay, thank you very much!
Could you maybe tell me what I can do with that stuff? What does it mean and what are the benefits?

super cid you can flash any firmware region, but it is not required for your device's own firmware.. firmware upgrades are sometimes a must when flashing different roms (like going from gb to ics or vice versa) if you are already on ics I really don't think it's a benefit to upgrade to another ics firmware if yours works fine.. and you can flash different radios that might improve signal and better reception (results vary so only real way to know is to try one yourself) hope that was clear, that's as far as I know

Like above post says, basically you have more freedom to do what you want with s off. Also flashing involves less steps with soff. I'm s off and I'm glad I did it. I can change radios firmwares, with ease.
sent from HTC sensation, soff, 3.33 firmware, viper Rom, sense 4.1, mugen battery. please press thanks if I helped in anyway.

I flashed Miui but i was stuck on the Mi-logo when the phone was booting (I could not fix it). Then I flashed Cyanogenmod 9, but here i can't get my contacts back wich I placed on my SIM and Google account, pretty anoying..
Could this be a problem because I'm not S-off?
I realy liked Cyanogenmod 9 and Miui seems nice too, but ik can't get it work properly

Nope has nothing to do with not being soff. Did you flash the gapps addon for cm9?
For MIUI confirm which firmware version you need to run it (could be why)

Yes i had allready flashed the Google apps. I now got it fixed by getting back to stock rom and synced the contacts once more.
But the strange thing is that CM9 still keeps saying: 'No contacts on SIM'.
For the firmware, I do not know which firmware is needed. Is it so that I need a ICS rom?, or must I look at the number, 3.33...
Thanks for all your help!
Edit: I know I need a ICS rom, flashing for instance gb is impossible without flashing firmware.. but must the numbers match?

I think it's all great, but I some terms and actions are a little over my head, so I don't excactly understand what the things mean when I'm s-off.
I'm totally new to the rooting and flashing, but I think it's fun to do.
For instance: What is Supercid/cid and RUU excactly?

Well depends. I know some Miui 3.33 roms run awful on 3.32. Makes no sense as 3.33 was literally radio related update.
Otherwise yeah they should mat h. 3.32/3.33 seem to be backward compatible though.
SIM part though that is a new one to me

then you have to change your firmware version in order to boot a gb rom
in ics firmware you can't run gb rom
see here

follow carefully the instructions and check md5 sums before flashing(important)
Probably because you've previously had ViperS, which is ICS. You need a GB firmware I think.
Edit: had this tab open for a long time, didn't see your reply. Scusi.

there is no other way to return to stock and unroot
if you are S-ON you have to use a ruu with the same firmware as yours or higher one
otherwise flash another rom from recovery
by the way what problem did you meet when you used the ruu?

ruu works independently of the rom you are using
but i saw you opened a new thread where you are saying that you want to send it for repair
if you are still on warranty then ruu is your only option

Right now i am on firmware version 3.32.531.14. because i am using the 1.2.2 arhd rom but going to switch because the other one seems more popular. And it says for all 7.x roms it recomends to flash the radio listed.

Hi,
I would not worry about it too much.
Almost all the current batch of ROMS will run on your radio/firmware.
HTC are certainly not very forthcoming with any updates
Besides,s-off is not such a hard thing.

Hi,
The only way ,as I said, will be to s-off your phone.
What number of bars did you have when you were on the t-mous version?
Go to the market and get the app called "GetRil".
It may be that you just have a mismatched radio/ril combination.
