Hello,
I'm trying to upgrade my baseband but am running into a problem.
Following the guide:
- I restore back to a Stock rom using the links provided to V10F, then wipe the cache, dalvik cache and factory reset options. IthenI download and install the LG tool and proper drivers.
- i then choose the update option which fails and says i already have the software update. then shows the software is V11H in the tool
- I've tried other versions of the stock rom and starting from scratch, but it continues to fail
-i've searched for a solution but nothing helped, I will continue to search for help but I was hoping someone might be able to direct me in the right direction or provide a possible solution as i'm very lost right now
Addtional info.
This a Wind Mobile version of the phone (Canada)
Current Baseband: June 2011
Android Version: 2.2.2
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Software Version: P999-V10F
Build number: FRG83G
Wind version requires offline kdz method to update the baseband and phone to stock 2.3.4 gingerbread. Search for it.
The noob says:
In the absence of a valid argument, 2+1=3 may be used to explain why the g2x did not get the ICS update!
Thanks will do, i Would have spent days looking for that info :S
I'm using the same old baseband on Wind and the phone works fine. There doesn't seem to be much benefit in updating the baseband and you'll lose Bluetooth calling if you want to play with ROMs other than stock.

Are you serious? i just got this working and bluetooh calls are huge for me as i have it running through my car stereo... I'm done with LG, this is ****ing ridiculous
There's a few decent stock-based roms that you can try - I used Weapon as my first rooted ROM and it's still a great solution.

You could always roll back to previous baseband.

I'm running the July 2011 baseband right now with Eaglesblood ICS and I want to update to the March 2012 baseband. Just to review the steps before I actually proceed to doing it.
From my understanding and research so far, first, I need to restore my phone to a stock version, then update it via LG update tool, then root it, then install clockworkmod and then I could install the ROM I want, is this wrong?
Nope, that seems correct, that's how I did it.

So, just to be completely clear... the Recovery needs to be back to stock before using the LG update tool as well?

Hello there,
Just got a used samsung skyrocket with At&t and upgraded to the 4.0.4 android version.
My problem is that I have no data and wifi will not work. I tried changing the APN settings which would get my data to work but still no Wifi or mms. Any suggestions of how I can fix this? Thank you.
Need more info:
1. Are you on stock or rooted?
A. If rooted, what rom?
2. What radio do you have installed?
It sounds like your radio didn't flash correctly. You can either ODIN to a stock 4.0.4 or just flash a ROM thru CWM Touch.

Try going to the Sky ICS thread in the development forum, grab one of the radios from there, and flash through CWM or TWRP. If it's a bad radio flash, that will fix it.

Why this is happening with network and wifi, I need phone as daily tool for my work, can someone help me out , throw some ideas?
Btw I flashed v21e with smart flash, because had issue with lg flash tool with OMAP driver not able to install
dropped Post [ROM]NovAndroid v2.1.5 v21e JB Green[04/09/12] on top of fresh bb flash but still no luck
V21E may not work with your country.
Use whichever baseband Lg offers to your country.

I tried every in the list without luck, some of them did allow me to use wifi until I rebooted phone, but network was unavailable for all of them
it appears I don't have IMEI after smart flash to 21e, do I need IMEI to get internet connection / network ?

Could do with some help after doing restore via LG mobile support tool.
UK p920 that was bought second hand and unlocked to all networks I am using a T-mobile[ UK] sim card
I updated from froyo to 2.3.5 gingerbread 2 weeks ago using LG mobile support tool. The sim card was in at the time.
update successful and then rooted phone all ok. Tried doing backup of current rom with rom manager and failed. also tried orange, and rom manager, none would backup anything. tried flashing rom and bricked phone!could not even get into a boot recovery. Last resort I used LG mobile support tool to download and auto re-install 2.3.5 (without sim card in) didnt think this would affect anything. Phone booted up and all is ok, did a titanium restore of apps and settings all ok, but cannot get the phone to connect to sim network-tmobile.
Current config; model number LG-P920
android version 2.3.5
baseboard version L6260_modem_sic_01.1042.00
kernel version 2.635.7+
build number GRJ90
software version LGP920-V21e-APR 19 2012
Has the recovery loaded the correct version for my phone?
I am a noob so please reply using basic language and instructions, thanks for reading.

Have you changed baseband ? Normally it is a baseband problem.
The rom must suit with the right baseband.
And watch if you have imei.
EDIT: are you on stock 2.3.5?

Everything is stock 2.3.5 used LGmobile support tool which is a recovery tool as well. Had to use this method as rom manager decided to kill phone as described in original message. The update tool did find my imei number as it did when I upgraded using the same tool from froyo to gingerbread.

Well I tried a cwm/ rom manager flash recovery and it trashed the phone again and this time LG software recovery doesn't load phone, it wont booot into bootloader just get LG logo and then switches off after a minute.trying to get omap 4430 drivers to load on W7 to try the all in one tool to flash a GB bootloader, so far no luck If only there was better info on it. Thanks for help so far, now I have a bigger problem !!
My camera doesn't work on any rom. It opens then force closes saying "camera not connected" or "camera not working".
WHen i restore to my stock backup It works fine.
I've tried these roms in this order:
synergy
liquid
cm10
axis
all latest updates
I use TWRP 2.5
When i originally rooted i used ODIN and followed it to a T.
Like i said being stock my camera works. When i flash a rom it doesn't. Also i try reflashing, fix permisisions. no luck......... Seems to be the only thing not working too. Only problem is I have to have my camera!
Any help would be great!
Tony

But when you restore your stock backup your camera still works?
Did you flash anything from the new update? Or are the roms that you are on based on the new one?

When i rooted my phone... 2 days ago
I was only the latest samsung over the air update.
when i was done rooting I made sure everything works then did a back up so i can always revert.
When i flash any of the roms I just flash the latest available. If it requires gapps i use the one for the build it's for. 4.1 or 4.2
And like i said I'm on twrp 2.5
The fact that it works stock tells me it's software and maybe related to TWRP? but i can't figure out how.
The new update is the problem, it breaks the camera if your rom is based on the old firmware.

OK ,now I get to sound like a noob
So what now? I'm guessing flash a old Samsung stock then root? But how and where
I've been rooting and flashing different devices for awhile but never had issues'
I really appreciate all the help!
I'm not the best at explaining things. I just went back to my backup and stayed with that. My camera works fine now.
I'm sure someone will come to help and explain it better.

There is a custom firmware package that has the MD3 bootchain and the MB1 modem that will work across all roms. I'm at work now but I'll try to link it when I get off. It's somewhere in the BoneStock ROM thread if you feel like finding it yourself.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Seems to be an almost daily occurrence. Reading a new thread about the camera issue that has been documented and the solution posted time and time again.

I love reading this ****,..lol

Just updated the kernel to the new kt747 jb 4.2 june 8 2013 and the camera works.
Flash mb1 firmware, the modified file someone is talking about is simply the md3 modem with an mb1 tz. The md3 modem gives shotty data connection for most people and the mb1 radio will probably work better for you.
Just flash the mb1 firmware aio package, that should fix your problem.
Please try to search next time, this question has been answered everyday for a week, and this method works for almost everybody.
