[Q] will not start up - HTC One S

Hi All.
I have just bought a second hand HTC One s, its only suppose to be 4 months old, when I first got it, it needed a long charge as it was really flat, it worked for about 4 weeks, when I pressed the on switch, the three touch buttons flashed 3 times and it wouldn't start up, after a few attempts it started ok, I have had it for 4 weeks and the other night I switched it off to give it its nightly charge, when I plug it in, the orange light comes on to show its plugged into the charger, but it stays on forever and does not go green, I have left it plugged in all night and when I try to start it up, it does nothing, has anybody got any ideas please, at 60yrs old, I am a bit short of technical megabites myself. or is that my excuse for my ignorance.
Regards to all
tankie.

[Q] Completely unresponsive Xoom

I've got a 4G Xoom, that I bought new about 13 months ago. It's been great to me so far. I had it rooted and was running CM 9 on it and had been doing so for about a month without any issues.
Yesterday, it was plugged into the charger and I happen to glance at it and it was doing some strange things with the screen, flashing on/off, black lines on part of the screen. I powered it off and left it alone for an hour or so.
Since then, it's been completely unresponsive. I've tried Vol Up+Power button countless times without it working. The charge light (white) came on briefly while plugged in, but then went off, never to return. The only reaction I can get is that after holding Vol up+Power causes an orange light next to the front camera to blink twice. That's it.
Any suggestions? Is it completly dead?

Given that it's sealed, how is this done? I hadn't even considered cracking the case.

You may not need to remove the battery as several people have reported success with just slipping some paper between the contacts for 30+ seconds. You will need to open it up though and here's a post with info and pictures to guide you through that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1578365
On edit: here's another thread with good info for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528706&page=3
Good luck.
Well, I did the paper under the battery terminals for 15 minutes and still no joy.
One item of note is that when I plug the charger in, I'm not getting a white (or green) light. At least not much of the time. Occasionally, I can wiggle the plug a bit and it will light up, but I'm not getting to green at all.
I can put a multimeter on the battery leads, does anyone know how many volts/amps I should be reading?
Are we sure that its not just a crap connection with the charging plug. It is a wimpy little pin and my Xoom needs me to do a rain dance to get it to charge. I have to plug it in, wait a few seconds and then the white light comes on , but only if the wire is flipped back over the top of the screen. Another thought is I use Tiamat ics and there is an option to have the light on or off during charge and I think it is set to off as default, maybe you didn't set that up. I would bet its something stupid and you just need to keep playing with the wire and see if you can get it on. Good luck.

[Q] Xperia x10 mini pro wet 5 months ago working?!?!

Today I was so bored so I decided to finally "destroy" my little and old friend what got wet in a pool and the rice trick didn't save it.
Just one time launched to the ground I decided to put it charging and see if it is alive, big was my surprise when the led turn on and the phone start charging, I waited for an hour and then tried to turn on the phone. The phone vibrates like before and with I was like "omg it is alive and working" but the screen never turned on. After that I just tried for last hope and put it my SIM card to the phone. I call it and the phone ringed and all.
With that, Can I asume that the screen isn't working but the phone works fine?
I also tried taking pictures with holding the key and after just press but the click didn't sound, sorry if this is in the wrong place, I never expected this and eventually I don't know how to post it

[Q] MotoG dead after, can't boot.

Hello,
first of all, I've read every other guide on the internet with the same problem, I haven't found a fix yet.
My problem is a little bit different then others.
A couple of days ago my phone got really hot, so I decided to stop use it so it can cool a bit. It still had like 80% battery remaining. After it was cooled down a bit it wasn't powered on anymore and I was unable to boot it up, it was just dead. I placed it in the fridge for about half an hour, after that it was working fine again.
Now I have the problem that it won't power on again. If I plug it into the wall (original charger) There is just a white LED on the front, which means the phone is too low to turn the screen on, After 2 minutes or so the white LED disappers, but the screen is not turning on. If I plug it off and on again the white LED is back on.
When the LED is gone i tried pressing some buttons according to some guides in the internet. The only result was, when I pressed the power down and the power button while the white LED is off, it just comes back on after exactly 2 minutes.
I also tried 3 different batteries, 2 of them are original motorola batteries for the MotoG, the other one a cheap ebay one.
Is there any chance I can bring it back to live? Or at least get my data recovered?
Greetings,
Lukas

[Completed] LG G2 No power...Constantly Vibrating

Hey everyone 2 weeks ago I was using my lg g2 verizon model running android 5.0.1 lollipop and it felt from my bedside. Note this is not her first time the phone had fallen. I have a tpu case on it and it usually fears very well against occasional drops. That fateful night however the phone fell and when i picked it up it went blank and was switched off. I tried to power it on by pressing the power button but the phone just vibrated continuously on a second by second basis ( literally counting mississippis). I then tried to plug the phone into my wall outlet to force a boot but it just vibrated too.
Later that week i opened it up removed and reattached the battery cable and IT CAME ON!! Two short days after i rebooted the device for a new app but then it didnt power on. The same problem occured. I tried my fix again and after a couple of tries it finally worked. A week later and forgetting my phone problems i restarted ny phone again only to find out that the problem had returned. After trying my quick fix over and over again, nothing seemed to work so i decided to try troubleshooting the device myself. My results have left me baffled.
Ok so before you guys start shouting out solutions, heres what did and found ;
1) Tried a new battery and the phone still vibrated.
2) Unplugged the battery from the motherboard and plugged in my charger and the phone still vibrated. Lead me to believe that its not a battery problem.
3) Removed all un-neccessary components from the phone ( camera, screen, mic, antennas, etc...) the phone still vibrated.
4) Removed the power button module from the phone and it still vibrated when the charger was plugged in.
Note: I disconnected the vibrator behind then motherboard and held the phone to my ear while I plugged it in to my wall outlet. I could hear a faint clicking sound in a cycle.
Im completely lost sorry for the long thread but if anyone can offer some advice please help me i have no money to buy a new phone atm #life
Thank you in advance xD

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
Unfortunally for your phone this is indeed an hardware problem and i doubt it may be a software one...
If you didn't "worked" on the device from the software side i think the better way is to take it to an assistance shop or something like that in order to fix your vibration problem.
But for futher assistance i suggest you to ask overe here: Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good luck!

Water damage only orange led

Hey guys,
a few days ago I accidentally dropped an HTC One E8 in water and obviously it doesn't work anymore. Before buying a new one I wanted to ask, if some of our "HTC experts" may have suggestions on what else I could try before giving up.
The situation: I dropped it in water, didn't turn it off (dumb, I know) and it worked for around 10 minutes until it powered off. I left it in rice for a day and it didn't turn on or charge. At this point I nearly gave up.
I left it for in rice (about 48 hours) and - the orange led was flashing while charging. Even the screen turned on and it showed a charging symbol first and after a few seconds it showed a red circle and a white exclamation mark. After some time I could power it on and the touchscreen worked and I could use it, but it still was around 1%/0%. The screen flickered, but it was usable. I wanted to plug it in my computer then to rescue some data, but 5 seconds after I took it off power (to switch from the wall charger to my PC) it died.
Now I tried it to power it on for like 2 days, but with no charger connected nothing happens and when I connect the charger, the orange led is on constantly. I tried power/volume- and power/volume+, but nothing happens. Not even the charging indicator comes up, the screen is completely dead.
Are there any steps to try before giving up? By the way I don't want to disassemble it
Thanks in advance
