Region Locks Removals?
Will cooked roms remove the region-locks that most models have?
Mine is from The Netherlands (got it yesterday) but we have the European region-lock.
This means that, whenever I am outside of Europe, I will not be able to just insert another (local) sim card and enjoy using it outside Europe.
I truly hope that home cooked roms will remove the region-locks

Yes, region Locks.

Can you take another pic?
The one you attached is not really legible.
Thanks
.
EDIT
No need...I already found many articles...
Outrageous
It is only for the first time you activate the phone. E.g. If you are in Europe with an European phone, activate using a European sim, you are OK to use other Sims when you travel.
But if u try using a say a American sim to activate the European ph on first boot then u are ****ed.

As you may or may not know, the Samsung Galaxy S4 - I9500 is not sold in the UK & IRE which is a crying shame.
Some people have decided to import the phone for use within the UK & IRE and now have a few issues with APN setup etc., this firmware is being released to solve a few of these issues.
Enjoy...
NOTE: If there is enough appreciation for this, I will consider to release future firmware updates for BTU. This is a factory (LOW) image and it will make a wipe of cache and data.
If you like my work, maybe you would like to say thanks by buying me a beer

Please DO NOT mirror any of my files, thank you.
Thanks for this.
Downloading now!.
Great to have you with us in the S4 forums (coming from an ex-i9100 user).
Sorry for the wait guys I had to go out by the time the file finished downloading last night so I have installed it this morning & it runs fine so far!
Anyway just ran a speedtest and my network speeds have jumped up!!! indoors here used to be patchy on three uk, but now I'm getting:
69ms ping,
4.53Mb's dl,
1.60Mb's ul
all whilst indoors, I'd love to see the outdoors performance when I next go out!.
PS: previously I was lucky to get 1Mb's dl indoors on the other fw's
and just bare in mind this includes a CSC change so you will have to setup your device again and re-download your apps, but I think it is worth the effort considering that now I personally have seen almost 5x network speed improvements!.
Thanks again to Odia!.
*EDIT*
Here's a screenshot of a Speedtest (indoors in a bad signal area) on this fw:

Yes I will update the OP, I forgot to mention this is a factory (LOW) image and it will make a wipe.
Do you think you could you make one using the lastest build, XXUAME1, or at least tell how to make our own? I take it your using a 9505 CSC from a BTU rom and combining with 9500 firmware??

I am interested in this - I9500 using T-mobile in the UK. At the moment (using the original XXUAMDK) the phone seems to give very pessimistic signal strength values - rarely over 2 or 3 bars. Will the new version help this?

While testing ME1, I found the mobile signal to be unstable, only showing a few bars when it should be full signal, also the data signal was low causing bad downloads, MDK was a lot more stable using many of the popular UK networks.
i downloaded this file , now how to flash ??
via ODIN ?
if via odin we sould extract .zip file ?
via recovery menu ( update via sdcard ) ?
must phone be rooted to apply this flashfile ??

The problem was that Hong Kong Note 3 has a different partition structure for some reason and thus when trying to write the system partition, we got the infamous 'invalid ext4 image' error. I tried extracting the pit from the CSC file and partition with it, but it didn't work. Even tried it with heimdall. Still didn't work. But after a lot of reading, experimenting, and praying, I tried this.
1. Download leaked ROM from here: Terafile; Google Docs; Torrent; Storage Cow
2. Extract the 4 files.
3. Fire up Odin 3.09 and put the phone in download mode.
4. Load ONLY CSC file in Odin. (It contains the pit we need)
5. Make sure Re-partition is unchecked.
6. Flash it.
7. Reboot to Download mode.
8. Flash all 4 files normally.
9. Reboot to Kitkat.
10. Enjoy.
This worked for me. Thanks!

This will only work on 32 gb or 64 gb devices. The 16 gb n9005 needs a different pit file which is not provided for any ROM other than the Hong Kong roms. For some reason, Samsung decided that Hong Kong phones should have a different partition table than the rest of the world.
Yeah I have the 32gb model.

There is no 16gb version. You will have to either wait for the official Hong Kong ROM or else go for a custom ROM.

You can try flashing the exynos Kitkat which was released yesterday.
But I haven't played around with the N900. I don't know if it will have the same 'invalid ext4 image' error when flashing a non Hong Kong ROM on a HK device. Yours is HK, I think.

You bought your phone through an authorized dealer?
I am just asking cause as far as I remember, the phones starting from 'Z' are from Hong Kong.
If you bought it through an authorized dealer, it should be a normal Indian Note 3, in which case you can flash the kitkat ROM.
And yes, SM-N900 and N9000 are the same.

Don't worry about it. This community is built to help.
Can you tell me where you bought your phone from?
To put it in download mode-
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold Volume Down+Home+Power.
3. Keep holding till you see a warning.
4. Press Volume Up.
But make sure you flash the correct ROM to your phone. A wrong ROM will brick your phone.
Note 3 is not a very noob friendly device to flash.

It says your android version is 4.4, which is kitkat. But no such version was released by Samsung. Especially as early as September.
A search of 'ZCUBMI5' on google brings up many Chinese links with reference to N9006 (which as far as memory serves is a Note 3 clone).
I would suggest that you stay put and not tinker with your device.

Try flashing through Odin by taking out battery. Put it in back and go to download mode by pressing volume down home power.
Untick auto reboot option in ODIN 3.09 and flash the bootloader in BL Section or modem/baseband in CP Section...
After you see "reset" screen on Odin.. take out battery again and reboot the phone to download mode and flash it again... Let the phone boot and see if it changed or not... I guess it will...

Hello,
Would like to thank. The process worked with me first. Thank press28. I was looking for it had time. All that thought did not work.
For any who want it I have found the Thom Browne firmware bootloader version 2. I wanted to share this for free because I have found so many websites that are actually charging money to download this firmware that they didn't even have a hand in creating. I hate when people seek to profit from something they don't really own. They got it free, and charge everyone else. I am gonna upload it to G Drive for any who want to try it out. Some say it's boring but it's pretty smooth if you ask me. No root so gotta make the best of things lol
Here it is uploaded to my GDrive

THIS VERSION IS ONLY FOR F711U OR F711U1 VARIANTS!!

This is only for the F711U and F711U1 variants. Double check your model number before you do anything. I believe using Home CSC instead of CSC retains data
I just got an update so now its on October security patch

Hey my friend I found the firmware for your model if you like. I am downloading it now. Upload speed is a bit slow at my house but should be ready in a few hours
OP updated with international variant TB firmware
Alright, probably a stupid question... but it's been a long time since I've dealt with a Samsung phone. I've got the standard F711U1 variant and want to flash this firmware. I'm on the October patch already, assuming this can be flashed over top? This won't trip Knox right? Do I have to enable OEM unlocking to flash a stock firmware?

This can be flashed. Not on top per se but can be flashed. This has September patch but will update to October after you set it all up. Make a backup just in case. This won't trip Knox at all and no you don't have to enable oem unlocking since this is flashed in download mode. But its best to remove fingerprints, lock code and Google account before flashing
Worked like a charm! Just did a quick factory reset before hand and flashed. Thanks a ton!
Thanks, im going to try it. Hope it works for me. I see the csc code is from United Kigdom. wish it were multi. Mine is TPA
just flashed and it seems make no difference on my factory unlocked Z flip3. I wonder if i did anything wrong.

If you see the Thom Browne bootscreen and the theme when it boots up to the home screen then you got it right.

So far I havent found any thing interesting. Besides a wallpaper, and starting animation, a white theme,. The rest is the same. I dont know about performance. I just began to use it. In a couple of days I will notice the difference, if there is one. Anyway I dont intend to be ungrateful with bryanpen77
