Hey guys, I just got my optimus f3 today and rooted it a couple hours ago. I am trying to use link2sd but I get an error that says: "App2SD is not supported by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. You can link the app in order to move its files to your SD card." Well the linking buttons are greyed out and it has a message that says "Symbolic link -not mounted-."
Well I followed these instructions: http://www.link2sd.info/description and used Minitool Partition Wizard. I have F which is like 4gb and G which is like 3gb. They are both formated to FAT32 and are both set to primary. Well I connect the SD back into the phone and it pops up with a message in the notification bar saying the SD card is blank or has unsupported file system. I then launch link2sd to see what it does and it pops up with a message that says: "Select the file system of your SD card's second partition." I then select FAT32/FAT16 and it pops up with another error message saying that the mount script cannot be created. mount: Invalid argument. I go into the link2sd settings and storage info and it shows: Internal (69% free) /data; SD Card (69% free) /storage/sdcard0; SD Card 2nd Part. Not Mounted; System (7% free) /system; and Cache (98% free) /cache.
I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. Do you guys have any idea what I did wrong?? Thanks for the help!
Nevermind guys, I re formated and partitioned it again and it worked.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been able to make a second partition on their O3D/Thrill. I'm not sure if this problem I'm having is a limitation to the phone, or rom.
I'm using an LG Thrill with v20c baseband, Prometheus V1.4 rom.
I'm following this guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning
I have a 32gb micro sd. I've made my 2nd partition 10gb as ext2. When I put it in the phone it reads it, says it's ready to read/write media (in notifications bar). I then go to link2sd, it automatically asks me if the 2nd partition is ext2, ext3, ext4, or fat32/fat16. I tried ext2 and it says:
"Mount script cannot be created. mount: mounting /dev/block/vold/179:18 on /data/sdext2 failed: Invalid argument.
I then put it back into my computer and formated to fat32, same thing, then ext4, same thing. Each time I put it back into my computer Gparted sees the 2nd partition as "unknown", so I believe android is changing the partition type to something unrecognizable.
Well, being I haven't got a reply yet, I'll ask this,
Has anyone with an Optimus 3D partitioned their SD card?
Oh i did & got it worked but I stopped using the link2sd partitioning my sdcard, because somethings you should know. Well first, the sd has to be fat32 & when asking about the 2nd partition, chose fat32 and then reboot the phone. I tried ext2 or ext whatever just never work. After reboot and link2sd ask the same thing again, just pick the fat32 partion and reboot again. It worked for me after 3 reboot, strange don't know why.
Lastly, just let you know the 1st partition of the SD card won't show on your phone because theres already internal SD and external_SD folder only show the 2nd partition of SD card. But the 2nd partition won't show on your pc to transfer files, if you know what i mean. Like I wanted to use the 1st partition for music/movies and 2nd for apps (link2sd) but you have to partition the SDcard for the link2sd to work. So the external_SD folder is for 2nd partition, I looked everywhere for the movie on the 1st partition but never found it or maybe I should try root explorer...well I don't know maybe there's someone can help us out about the 1st partition OR maybe just my O3D SORRY for the long reading! lol
I'm hoping someone might be able to help me.
I've got a HTC explorer, which is my fist smartphone and after having it for a few weeks I realised that if I wanted more out of it I had to root it.
So I've managed to root the phone (i've checked properly), I've installed Link2SD and I've even managed to partition the SD card using MiniTool partition wizard. I created 2 partitions, one FAT32 which is a primary and shows as active on MiniTool and one which is EXT2 also primary but status shows as None.
When I open Link2SD on the phone it has superuser access and it asks me to select the file system for my SD card's second partition, I choose ext2 and it gives me an error "Mount script error, mount script could not be created. Mount:no such device, ext2 may not be supported on your device. Try FAT32 on the second partition." I have tried FAT32 on the second partition and it tells me "mount: invalid argument".
All I want to do is have more internal memory so I can install more apps and not worry about the low memory.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi All,
I have a galaxy s2 plus (gt-i9105p) with android version 4.1.2.
Because of the limited space on the internal sd card I thought it would be nice to have apps on an extra external sd card. But I haven't managed to do this so far, is it possible?
To use link2sd the app info says:
-The phone needs to be rooted.
-A second partition on your SD card is required
My phone is rooted, but I'm having problems creating a second partition on the ext. sd card. I tried the "MiniTool Partition Wizard". Because it didn't recognize the sd card (there is no letter assigned), I activated the usb mass storage option on the phone (via: app terminal emulator:su -> setprop persist.sys.usb.config mass_storage,adb -> reboot). This worked, so I created two partitions, one with fat32 (primary) and the other with ext2 (primary). Then windows explorer started to freeze up and the ext sd card was no longer accessible. On the phone it said "damaged sd card." I reformated it and so I'm back to where I was.
Also partitioning via de CWM is not working. It doesn't seem to do a thing.
Any help to get link2sd working is appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

It doesn't really move the apps to ext-sd(SD CARD)
I'm not sure but it moves the apps from the emulated storage to the system storage, correct me if i'm wrong

It moves only apk file with libs (or without) to mnt/asec and takes memory from extsdcard, but doesn't create any folders/files in it.

Try using the app called "Aparted" by Sylskat. I made an ext 4 with but I dont know what happened and it turned to ext 2, maybe my card doesnt support that kind of storage. But the partition I created with it works. Also it has swap support, if you want
I use a HTC Explorer running cyanogenmod 10.
Previously i was running stock ROM and using Link2SD onto my SD card. I then factory reset the phone and flashed it with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1847002. The partition i had made for Link2SD has now completely vanished. It was about 500Mb, now the SD card total storage shows a reduction in total memory of he same 500Mb.
Further, im not able to partition the remaining memory in the card to use Link2SD with either! HELP! What can i do?
Error Messages:
MiniTool Partition Wizard cannot create a new partition on this removable disk. If you like to create several partitions on this removable disk, you need to delete all the partitions first.
and
Link2SD: Mount script cannot be created. mount: Invalid argument
I have an LG F3 running Jellybean 4.1.2 and have almost all of my apps linked to sd card via link2sd.
I cant see or access any of the apps. However, I can see/access pics & music on the sd card.
Link2 sd shows "SD Card 2nd Partition" as unmounted.
I tried to recreate mount script in link2sd, selected ext2 but got "mount script error. mount script can not be created. mount: invalid argument"
How do I get it to mount?
I cant access the playstore or keyboard since they're linked to the sd card.
HELP!
