[Q] Partition missing! - General Questions and Answers

I use a HTC Explorer running cyanogenmod 10.
Previously i was running stock ROM and using Link2SD onto my SD card. I then factory reset the phone and flashed it with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1847002. The partition i had made for Link2SD has now completely vanished. It was about 500Mb, now the SD card total storage shows a reduction in total memory of he same 500Mb.
Further, im not able to partition the remaining memory in the card to use Link2SD with either! HELP! What can i do?
Error Messages:
MiniTool Partition Wizard cannot create a new partition on this removable disk. If you like to create several partitions on this removable disk, you need to delete all the partitions first.
and
Link2SD: Mount script cannot be created. mount: Invalid argument

[Q] LG Optimus Logic (LGL35G) File system changes!!!

Ok first off i am infact a noob.
So heres the thing after rooting and removing almost everything i could i still do not have room to install apps even when link2sd move over to the phones fake built in sd card.
I am unsure how to do what i am asking or what info is needed but one issue is the phone has an internal memory of 1gb mounted as /sdcard
then my 16 gb class 10 sd card mounts as /sdcard/_ExternalSD
i did follow a thread of trying to use link2sd with a fat32 and an ext4 partition but in doing so the phone lost its ability to see the fat 32 partition and only saw the ext2 partition
so that attempt failed me.
my system and my data mounts continue to loose space after installing a few apps.
Now i live the flexibility of the droids but the major design flaw is the limited file system structures i removed almost all stock apps installed dolphin mini and holo launcher plus as system and removed stocks..
so my question how can i use my phones true sd card mounted as /sdcard/_ExternalSD for storage of apps and my phones fake sd card /sdcard for storage of the data mount ? can i possibly reassign space using some kind of secret partition manager to increase the data mount and sys mount and remove space from the fake sdcard mount?
Or how can i regain the fat 32 partition in my phone when the symlinks to the ext4 partition are holding up and working as intended
Im using a straight talk LG Optimus Logic (LGL35G)
It has no access to a recovery menu that is disabled all i can do is the basic wipe userdata with the vol down pwr and menu.
all changes i made to system remained root stays all sys apps i assigned stayed. no option for firmware update ect...
More details .
formatted 16gb class 10 sd to 10 gb fat32 primary and 6 gb ext2 primary
the fat 32 partition does not mount because the link2sd is confused by the existing /sdcard mount from the phones 1gb internal memory... and i dont know how to mount it or what to change to allow it to mount or what the mount should be called

But i am unsure what to do still and the partitioning sd card failed to work as needed.
does anyone have a work around or a mod to the link2sd script that can correct the loss of the fat 32 partition?
after moving apps to phone thin link2sd the symlinks holding after reboot

I am bumping this topic because I have the same problem.
I am not quite a noob, ever android phone ive gotten my first steps have been root then set up link2sd, and I've never had any issues.
But with this LG Optimus Logic, I just can't get it to work. When I have 2 partitions, both fat32, the phone only sees the smaller of the 2 partitions and link2sd shows that partitions as the 1st and 2nd partition. When one is formatted as ext2, the phone sais the sd card is blank.
Someone has ot have answers, this is irritating. Low disk space after installing a few basic apps.
maybe there is something we can change in the build prop making it so things mount differently. remember doing something like that on my epic 4g touch and motorola photon

[Q] HTC Explorer Link2SD not mounting Low memory

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me.
I've got a HTC explorer, which is my fist smartphone and after having it for a few weeks I realised that if I wanted more out of it I had to root it.
So I've managed to root the phone (i've checked properly), I've installed Link2SD and I've even managed to partition the SD card using MiniTool partition wizard. I created 2 partitions, one FAT32 which is a primary and shows as active on MiniTool and one which is EXT2 also primary but status shows as None.
When I open Link2SD on the phone it has superuser access and it asks me to select the file system for my SD card's second partition, I choose ext2 and it gives me an error "Mount script error, mount script could not be created. Mount:no such device, ext2 may not be supported on your device. Try FAT32 on the second partition." I have tried FAT32 on the second partition and it tells me "mount: invalid argument".
All I want to do is have more internal memory so I can install more apps and not worry about the low memory.
Any help would be appreciated.

[Q] ext partition problem

I've can't find the answer anywhere, so I'm starting a new thread.
I have a problem partitioning my 32 GB class 10 micro sd card. I need to partition it to use link2sd, so I need other partition to be ext 2/3/4. So if I try partitioning it with minitool, the first partition (fat32) works fine, but the second one (ext) after partitioning shows type as "other" and that the partition is full (no free space). If I partition it with cwm recovery, minitool shows what should be ext partition as unallocated space.
AOMEI partition assistant can't finish partitioning to ext (fat32 can with no problem), and gives this message:
Sorry, the current operation has been canceled!
Information Code: 305
Description: Unknown Error.
I haven't been able to find not only solution, but even similar problem is nowhere to be found, so I hope someone can help.

Link2sd mount script cannot be created

Hi,
When I instal Link2SD and open it for the first time it asks for the file system for my SD card second partition and I select ext4, but after always gives this error message "Mount script cannot be created".
The rom I'm using is CyanogenMod 10.2 by Rashed97 and Kernel 2.6.35.10.
Anyone can help me with this please, I tryed many things but didnt worked.
Problem resolved...
I've updated Superuser and rebooted the phone and after link2sd created automatically a new script and mounted the sd card properly.
Cant know exatcly what was the reason but worked.
But now I'm having another problem, Whenever I try to converte to User App I get this message "Failure - pkg: 7cache/download/****.apk Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_APK]
Anyone can help me with this?
Mount script cannot be created.
If you store the Link2sd application in your memory card, it will not able to link to SD. Move that application to internal storage and use ext4 as second partition. It is working in my Samsung Galaxy 4.
solved for me
i had the same problem but got it resolved by....
connected the SD and phone using USB cable
backed up my files
i formatted the SD card created 2 partitions using Mini Tool Partition Wizard Manager, one with FAT32 and one with Ext4
exited the Mini Tool Partition Wizard Manager
DIDN'T safely remove the hardware from the taskbar
DIDN'T turn off USB storage
DIDN'T detach the USB cable from the PC
turned off the phone by the power button and disconnected the usb cable.
turned on the phone and opened the Link2sd app and chose ext4 and it created the mount script successfully
Hi all, same here, cannot create mount scripts.
MicroSD 32GB, recovery TWRP v2.7.0.0, rom CyanogenMod 11.0.0-RC11-p500.
Formatted SD-EXT (1024MB, no SWAP partition) in ext4 and now ext3, the mount scripts are not working.

Tried ext4, ext3, ext2 and even fat32... Not one of them works.
There is an app similar to Link2SD but working?
Or how can I use SD-EXT to extend the space for apps?
Thank you.

same issue here
Had similar problem also ("invalid argument" message). Problem in my case was that my CWR formatted to ext4 by my ROM do not want to work with ext4. So I used "mini tool" and formatted to ext3. Connect in CWR to PC and format , reboot, create script, ....
I solve the problem by not using the SD-Ext.
I'm guessing that this is something none of you are aware of as I don't see it mentioned in any of your posts...
Link2SD will fail if there isn't enough free space in /system.

For others who find their way to this thread
It appears this is an issue specific to the device - and that is an "unknown" until you try. I tried the above also - with minitool partition manager and easus partition manager and none of the partitions worked with Link2SD. Then I downloaded and installed app2sd (all in one tool) on the device and used the partition tool included with it to reformat the second partition. Be advised the app2sd version from google Play was full of absolutely ridiculous ads that I had to constantly escape and back out of or "X" out of at the top right or left corners - to get back to use the actual tool itself.
1. Ext2 format failed with an error (tried it twice even after wiping the partition)
2. did not try Ext3
3. Ext4 formatted successfully - but the mount script of Link2SD STILL failed
4. FAT32 formatted successfully - AND the mount script of Link2SD worked
I then uninstalled App2SD - and hopefully all the ads it brings
It should be noted even after successfully getting Link2SD working - it could not "move an app" to the SD card because it reported the device - a Teclast x70R was using "emulation" - but Link2SD reported it could "link" and move some files to the SD of some programs. I suspect the reality is the FAT32 file system has something to do with this as it cannot carry the permissions needed by UNIX type Operating Systems.
Others have said the EXT file system partition must be the first partition on the SD card; and while this had proved to be true with a PC hard drive when trying to install OSX as a dual boot Operating System - on my Android device it simply resulted in the SD card being unmounted - or failing to mount at all
It should also be noted that the minitool and easus partition managers COULD NOT successfully format the second partition of the SD card apparently either - because Windows technically only will recognize the first partition on a removable SD card type drive - apparently true even though they both reported successfully formatting the partition - when in fact it was ONLY AFTER reformatting using the app2sd partition tool did I get meaningful error messages - and/or that the FAT32 format of the second partition actually worked in Link2SD
It is another example of "go figure"

Hello, I am having an issue with formatting the sd card to have fat32/ext2 on my sd card. I followed the tutorial I have used minitool and easeus and link2sd still does not create the ext2 folder I keep getting this error mount script cannot be created mount: invalid argument who ever was able to make a ext partition on the sidekick 4g please help. The memory on this phone is too low and I want to use my sd card to install the apps instead. Thank you.
