Dear Sirs,
Please, I need some clarification about My Android Android Device.
I've been a Windows Mobile user for almost 10 years. So used to find free cool applications, download, install and use it. That simple. Have a Windows Phone with more than 60 installed applications.
Well, I've bought a Android Tablet. But almost ALL applications I want to download needs to be downloaded on App Market, BUT, almost all are NOT shown there when I search using my device conected to the internet.
I realize that many applications that are supposed to be on Android App Market, are there, but I aren't avaible to my device, even those that actually WORK well on my device (when I could get them from another web site and test them).
So, there are developers offering FREE applications, but Android Market Doesn't alow me to download them for some reason I can't understand. Is it right ?
My device is a general Android Tablet running Android 1.6.
What's the advantage of a Mobile O.S. that dictates what I can install on my device ????

The Note is a fully functional Android phone. Just use the Android market or any of the other markets like Amazon. Or you can side load with adb.

Connect your phone to wifi, start Market on phone, login with google account when asked and install apps.
When you log on Market from your phone, then phone is added on your google account and then you can use market site to install apps on your phone, but you must have internet connection on phone. I don't have antivirus on my phone and I don't have any problems...

Use the market it is full of application lot of is free, if you don't search in the "alternative" market the antivirus is not necessary.

About apps
I hope to say if you find some apps on the internet.Just find something file name is xxxx.apk is ok. I suggest you go to http://android.d.cn/
Does anyone know how to go about downloading applications for android without having to connect the receiving device to the internet?
I need to be able to download applications on a computer and transfer them via SD card to the device that they will run on. The device that will run the apps will NOT be connected to the net.
Suggestions?
Download from somewhere other than Google Play. Or try reverse tethering
well at least your computer has to have an internet connection and you can download from other forum sites etc..
if not you should get .apk files (android application files) from your friend or something..
Using Google Play Store

-.-
The play store needs internet on the phone
So it seems that if I wanted to have a device (tablet) with absolutely no internet connection the only way I would be able to load applications from say Google Play is I would have to download the application and install it on another internet connected device and grab the APK off of that device and sneakernet it to the tablet with no connection.
Google Play does not seem to offer any way to download apps except if the developer offers the apk on their own website.

I've found a link to a tutorial that may be useful to you:

I hope this helps.
Edit: Resolved, used droidvpn.
I have a question I can't seem to find the answer to... is there any way to make your device think it's in the US? I know of the market enabler but I'm talking about the whole device. For instance to be able to download books, music, movies, etc from Google play. Or even be able to some how combine thru using your laptop on Google play and pushing it to your device? Some background info.. I'm currently deployed in Qatar and basically everything is locked down on my phone and tablet. Or maybe there is a way to vpn on my laptop and then create a hotspot from it for my devices to tunnel thru? Idk looking for ideas and solutions. Thanks
