[Q] HELP About Android Application Market - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Dear Sirs,
Please, I need some clarification about My Android Android Device.
I've been a Windows Mobile user for almost 10 years. So used to find free cool applications, download, install and use it. That simple. Have a Windows Phone with more than 60 installed applications.
Well, I've bought a Android Tablet. But almost ALL applications I want to download needs to be downloaded on App Market, BUT, almost all are NOT shown there when I search using my device conected to the internet.
I realize that many applications that are supposed to be on Android App Market, are there, but I aren't avaible to my device, even those that actually WORK well on my device (when I could get them from another web site and test them).
So, there are developers offering FREE applications, but Android Market Doesn't alow me to download them for some reason I can't understand. Is it right ?
My device is a general Android Tablet running Android 1.6.
What's the advantage of a Mobile O.S. that dictates what I can install on my device ????

I think this question has been asked many times before. I suffer the same problem, so I wonder if there is another way of installing Android market apps on a phone without android. For example, using a QR code scanner? Would that work from a device that doesn't have Android market?
It's an android application, so to use on a non-android phone you'd have to port it.

android software packages cannot run on non-android devices, no offence but we know this.
Us users of devices that have an android version without Android market, want to have android market on that device.
I just tried using a QR code scanner on my motorola XT701 (which from the factory does not have android market), and it failed to install, because it wants android market presumably.
So here goes again: does someone know of a way to access android market apps on an android device that does not have android market?
Alternatively, can someone explain why Google does not make Android Market available? I mean, it's in their own best interests isn't it? I mean, Google Android is an Opens Source platform, so the app should be available to all android users, right? Or am I thinking to normal here?
For your phone or tablet to have access to Android Market and the rest of the Google apps, it has to be approved by Google. Android itself is free to everyone, but not those apps.
many thz everyone
it can be loaded but crashed in loading terms and argeement scan.
So how about flashing it to another rom or kernal?
For phones flashing it with a new ROM is possible, most android phones tend to have a ROM availale somewhere. However, for those Chinese made tablets, many donot have Market installed. I happen to have one I bought in May, and it does have Android Market, but so far many others do not, even proper brand ones, like Archos, don't have Market, which is sad.
So for chinese tablets, I guess you just hav eto search until you find one that has teh market pre-installed. Probably you'd have to order from HK, rather than mainland china (they are quite arsy, even about google maps. Infact, if you check google maps in China, you wil find the satellite images have been shifted compared to the map....)

[Q] How to buy Paid Android Apps without having registered android device?

Guys,
I wanted to buy many of the recent specials that Google have but I don't have an android phone yet.
Is there anyway I can use my friend's android device to buy these so that later I can get them when I get my phone over Christmas ?
When I log in to his Android phone it does not allow me to change the primary account in the android market app..
I am here in Aus so I think we didn't get the ability in the android market to change accounts..
Have you tried it on the market page?
https://market.android.com/
You might need a device but it is worth a try.

The device:
GT-P6210 v3.2
Kernal: 2.6.36-P6210UEKL1-CL583281 [email protected] #3
Build: HTJ85B.UEKL1 P6210UEKLI
The sitch:
I'm a US citizen with a US device (I bought through Amazon.com and had shipped to me through a third party). However, I am currently living in Japan on a military installation. When searching for an app on the Android Market, 95% of the time the return is: No results found--even if what I'm searching for is free. I'm assuming the 5% app result (even though it's never what I'm looking for) is because of a similar app posted on the Japanese market (I could be wrong). Using a median to get through to the market (GetJar, etc.), I am able to download free apps, but I cannot buy anything that costs money. I finally emailed the Android App Customer Service and was told it was because of my IP address.
The kicker:
First and foremost, how is it my IP when I have reset my device to factory default and used a US VPN before I logged into the market and was still unable to access apps? But even putting aside that point, here is some food for thought:
I have owned both a Nook Color and Kindle Fire and, after rooting them, was able to access the Android Market just fine. All within the IP address I am currently using.
I have friends here who own Android phones (bought here on the military base through a Japanese phone company) and an Android US tablet. On all three devices they are able to access the market without any problems. Additional info: Friend's devices are SIRIUS α IS06 [au.kddi.com/english/seihin/ichiran/smartphone/is06/index.html] x2, and a Toshiba Thrive 10”; none of friend's devices are rooted.
I had above friend log into my Android Market account on her phone and buy a few apps for me, and she was able to.
Another friend of mine here owns the same Galaxy Tab I do and can also not access the Android Market.
So what is going on? How, exactly, does the market determine your location. And how do I fix it? MarketEnabler and MarketUnlocker don’t work on WiFi only devices.
Not a fix, but have you tried accessing the market from a computer, and purchasing the apps through it? If the computer can access all the apps, you may be able to choose your tab as the device you wish to install them on. Not a fix, but maybe a temporary work-around.

Also, what are a couple of the apps? Could be that the market doesn't recognize them as compatible with the 7+ (due screen resolution, lack of telephony, etc.) List a couple apps, and i can see if i have access to them. Good luck!

Yes. I apparently have 3 devices on there and all 3 are always grayed out. It says "This item cannot be installed on your device."

The 3 latest apps I've tried are gReader Pro, HD Widgets, and Tabletbar Hider (root). My friend was able to buy the first 2 for me on my account with her phone, but Tabletbar Hider is incompitable so it doesn't show up. When trying to download it from my PC, my friend's newly added phone says "This item is not compatible with your device" while my tablet gives the above error. I've had the market issue with every single app I've tried.

Yep, I have access to all three from my 7+. Strange that the options for your devices are grayed out. Hopefully somewhere here will have more to offer.

I forgot to add that if I can get an outside link to the marketplace app, if it's free I can download it fine. I can even browse within the market and download free apps. I cannot search for apps (free or pay) and I cannot buy apps even with an outside link into the marketplace. <--this is all on my tablet. My PC can find apps, I just can't download/buy them because it says I have no compatible devices.
Update from The Galaxy Tab Forum:

I logged into my friend's marketplace account and was unable to access the market properly. I don't know exactly what I'm supposed to be doing in Devices and Trouble Downloading. My device shows up, as well as an old Nook Color and Kindle Fire, along with my friend's newly added phone. I am now able to buy things from my PC on the marketplace using my friend's phone, but only if it's not tablet specific (which sucks, 'cause I own a tab). As far as trouble downloading, I can download things if they're free. Oddly enough, I can't search for free from my tab's market, but I can download free. If I need to search for something I have to use alternate means (GetJar, Browser, etc.). I can not buy anything, though. And that's especially frustrating since a few of the things I needed to buy are tablet only apps that couldn't be bought from PC market (using friend's phone as device).
Also, my friend tried using her Toshiba Thrive with my market account and was unable to. So I wrong, her tablet can't access the US market. Not even using her own account can she access it. So it seems to be a tablet specific issue. But only "real" tablets, because like I said in a prior post, after rooting a Nook Color and Kindle Fire I was able to download, install, and use the marketplace without issue.

The Note is a fully functional Android phone. Just use the Android market or any of the other markets like Amazon. Or you can side load with adb.

Connect your phone to wifi, start Market on phone, login with google account when asked and install apps.
When you log on Market from your phone, then phone is added on your google account and then you can use market site to install apps on your phone, but you must have internet connection on phone. I don't have antivirus on my phone and I don't have any problems...

[fix] how to install Mytube! after you bought it from the windows store

I have not test this on windows 10 rt, only on windows 8.1rt.
MyTube is the only youtube app that I know that still works in 2020 for our RT devices but when you buy it from the windows store it you get an error "this app is not compatible with your device".
Here is how you fix it....
1) buy it from the windows store (its only 0.99$!)
2) download the mytube-winrt.zip file at the end of this post.
3) apply the sideloadAppx.reg file in the zip file and reboot (it enables AllowAllTrustedApps so you can sideload windows store apps)
4) right click install.ps1 and hit run in power shell.
After that it should be installed!

Do you have edge? Go to developer tools, and go to the emulation tap. Switch the user agent string to IE 9. That will load the old Google classroom site

Hi! this is great!! now I can load google classroom, thanks. Last question, Do you know how can I block
pop up in Edge?
Thank you so much, finally can watch YT outside that old slow version of IE
I assume every time MyTube updates, we'd have to sideload the updated appx and run the process again? Where can we find them from?
I got it straight from store. i have surface rt 8.1..
is this MyTube best youtube app for now?
Sorry to dig such old thread, is this still working?
I never had mytube on windows rt.
Installed it on my other windows 10 devices to see if it "synced" the installation to the store on my vivotab rt 8.1 but not. When I go to my apps on windows 8.1 rt store it is not there, even when I select "all apps".
Therefore, when I install it with the tutorial here, it opens and gives me an error.
Do you know a way to solve this?
edit: as I tried to install windows 10 on the vivotab, mytube appeared on the store and installed (v3.5.41.0), so far I was not able to watch any video, but windows just installed and it still installing office etc etc...
If any of you with 8.1 or 10 rt still manage to use this app in 2022 let us know
