I really don't understand. Am i in the same situation? why do this happen to a phone? there must be a way to solve this kind of problems. I downloaded the stock rom (.exe file) from htc webpage at at&t htc one x update tutorial. why if htx is letting someone downloading it the phone can get bricked? thank you for your answers

I unfortunately had the same issue, The SuperCID & S-ON come into play. You would want to do the JTAG revival, your only hope. Your SuperCID indicates the modification done, which primarily causes this.

Would you recomend riff jtag? i know it is very expensive but i will look for some one in my city who has it. Any other idea of how to solve it? any idea if i can build jtag on my own. i'm good with electronics so i think i can do it if i get the circuit diagram. thank you
To be honest you'd be better off getting someone who knows what they're doing to do it for you. HTC have nothing to do with the RUU bricking phones, it's nit a fault with the RUU. It's because it looks for certain criteria wharf it runs and if you don't have those criteria it goes bad. It's up to the users to educate themselves about what happens when they've modified their phones.

The brick is due to SuperCID, which is a mod/hack that you did. HTC is not responsible for that. RUU with SuperCID typically shouldn't result in a brick. But on the other hand, you should always do thorough research before applying any stock updates (RUU or OTA) to a modded phone.
If there was a way to come back form this short of JTAG, it hasn't been found yet. And its been worked on by some knowledgeable and skilled folks here.

I've messed up my phone twice & was rescued through JTAG by MobileVideotech. The service is good, although the AT&T ROM that they loaded kept my phone rebooting frequently. However, I have seen that issue ever since I came on custom ROMs. You can give it a try if you wish.

I've checked every possible tag in my mind about this and couldn't find one for Sensation.
Is it possible to revet back to the original state before the Revolutionary. Is it possible to completely uninstall the Revolutionary from my phone?
I'm not talking about the s-off -> s-on
I'm talking about returning the phones software to its original state.
Like it is never installed in the first place.
Thank you.
It's funny because last weekend I wanted to do exactly the same thing.
What I learnt was to go from S-OFF back to S-ON can be quite fiddly and tricky, abd if you mess it up rub the risk of bricking your phone.
In order to get the stock Rom, here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559
Now it's just a case of finding which one you are, and your ril and radio.
Good luck
Thank you for your answer. But this is not what I want I can do this already but when I check the bootloader I see the pink "Locked" and it tells me that Revolutionary is still there.
I can go to S-On without any trouble that is not what I am asking.
What I am asking is to be able to get rid of every little bit of coding about the Revolutionary and return my phone to its original bootloader software.
If is says locked then ur good since that's what it said when you bought the phone.

When I get my phone there wasn't such writing. It is the product of Revolutionary.
So it is still there. I want to be able to get rid of it.
I'm not asking this about the warranty purposes. I'm asking this because I've realized that after using Revolutionary I can't install any app from market via wireless no matter what I did. Strangely it is fine to surf and download via mobile.
I know this because this is the Second Sensation I've faced having this problem and I remember some user Leviathan(maybe wrong?) talking about wifi dieing after Revolutionary.
So what I need is to get rid of it and be able to install original bootloader(maybe bootloader is not the right term here I don't know).

Hey.
I have a Sensation XE currently on the stock ICS ROM (Android 4.0.3), and root isn't really used by me anymore. I managed to unroot my phone by using the unroot option in SuperSU, now the only thing I want to do is remove ClockworkMod and recover the old stock recovery.
I've tried using the Android Recovery Manager, but it doesn't have my software number of 3.32.401.105.
If anybody could point me in the right direction and give me a noob friendly guide of what to do, I will be forever grateful.:good:

Hi basically I have a very retarded lot of HTC care people in my town. I wanted to get back stock on my phone. After searching long and hard did not find my RUU anywhere. (Its the HTC__038 India VilleC2 for HTC One S). As my bootloader was unlocked guess they were unable to flash the ROM.
Now I thought I will lock the bootloader and then take it over to them for rework. But when I do it, the phone gets stuck on boot and does not load further. I have to again unlock, and restore before the phone becomes operational again.
So can someone tell me how to fix this issue if at all??
I have 3 choices.
1. I get the RUU for my phone and all is sweet.
2. I get a NANDROID from someone else and flash that and try to update. (All I am trying to do it get to 4.0.4)
3. Lock bootloader and take it to HTC care in a working condition else they threaten to ship it to HQ for checking. That will mean 30 days (min) downtime. no cant do!!
So if anyone has any suggestions I will be glad to hear. Thanks.

Without the right RUU you have no chances here if you ask me.
A nandroid from another phone will not work for you (at least I know somebody who tried it once and it resulted in a bootloop).
But there should be a RUU for you. I can't imagine there is no RUU for India!
The best you can do for now is to search this thread and if you find nothing, to ask for your RUU:

SuperCID is when you changed the CID on your phone to 1111111 when/if you tried to root your phone. Here's a brief explanation by another XDA poster.
gol_n_dal said:
Certain things, e.g. RUUs, need to have the correct Carrier ID on the phone in order to install via the bootloader or recovery using the PG58IMG.zip process. The Latest Firmware packs for example are grouped together into sets, this is to allow you to install them if you don't have SuperCID. If you have got SuperCID you can install any of them as all the CID checks pass.
Another reason to change the CID if to allow you to install a generic RUU instead of the one that came with the phone, this allows you to remove the bloatware. For example I'm on Vodafone and I installed the generic Euro RUU purely to get rig of the Vodafone crap that came pre-installed.
The process to change it back is identical to the way you write the SuperCID just using your original CID (mine for example is VODAP001). IIRC HTC__01 is the generic CID

It is not known if super-cid causes issues with doing an OTA! I have super-cid and s-off, and I applied the AT&T OTA without any problems after using the 2.20 RUU to go back to stock. It may be that super-cid causes issues if you are not s-off, but I don't think anyone really knows if it is definitely the presence of the super-cid that is causing the problems. It could be, but given that some people don't have any problems, it could be anything.

S-off is precisely the reason you didn't brick. S-off by definition means that all security checks are bypassed, including CID check.

If you were S-Off and SuperCID then the OTA should not affect you.
But. WHY are people wanting the stock OTA? It's causing issues because some people don't know if it's going to brick their phones. Please just wait until custom ROMs come based on the OTA. It's much much much easier

Yup, now I (and hopefully people who read this thread) know better for next time.
I'm happy to report that AT&T swapped out my HTC One X for a new one and 4.1.1 is pretty sweet! I'm going to wait a while before unlocking and next time I'll make sure to have S-off
I found this thread useful, in that it gave me "closure" after trying desperately to revive my bricked phone for an hour. Got some Z's and woke up to a new phone - they couldn't turn it on at the AT&T service center and gave me a few examples of what could've happen. One of them was "using third party rom's" but they didn't accuse me of anything, they replaced my phone and I was on my way.

The guy at the service station didn't really ask me anything other than "what's wrong with your phone?" and I replied "it's not turning on." he said ok and plugged it into his machines and said he was going to run some tests and to take a seat. Five minutes later he said it's not turning on and he's going to replace it, I asked him what could've happen and he gave a few examples (including third party roms, etc) but that it could have been anything from a corrupt file to dropping it on the floor.

at&t customer service and even technical support have been badass for me last few years only issue is 110 bucks for my phone bill which imo should ive me the right to do whatever i want with my service and my phone without having to pay for tethering or getting throttled ever imo and cheaper early upgrades.
Hi, I need some serious help. So I had a custom rom on my at&t htc one x and i made like 3 backup of my rooted stock rom to be safe. My phone is unlocked cause I live in the Caribbean (No AT&T). Then I realised that my 4g wasn't working on the custom rom so I booted to Recovery using Team Win, wiped my data, cache and the system then tried to restore my backup. It said successful but it just booted the HTC Quietly Brilliant screen over and over. So of course, I tried the other 2 backups and it did the same. So I decided to flash the custom rom back on then try to restore the 2.20 stock rom .exe (which I've done before) from my computer. But I didn't want to go back to ICS so I downloaded the 3.18 jellybean rom for AT&T HTC One X directly from HTC's website and proceeded to relocking my bootloader and unrooting the phone, etc. Again, it said successful. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS BAD. The phone never came back on :'(... It doesn't charge, no red light, no boot screen. I can't get into the bootloader, recovery nothing! When I hold down the volume down and power key nothing happens, not even the blinking lights. When I connect it to the pc it makes a sound I've never heard. While connected, when I hold down the buttons, I hear the sound I usually hear when you know it's connected but then it makes the other sound and in my device manager i see "QHSUB_DLOAD". I can't run nothing because the computer can't find it.
Sigh, forgive me I'm a noob who got overly exited about rooting and roms but was I wrong to jump to 3.18 considering it is an official update from HTC? But now what do I doooo? Is it gone? Dead? Can it be revived? Please help me

Hi, I'm back again. Okay so I got my htc one x jtagged and I'm smiling from ear to ear but yea I'm really over ics so I'm about ready to root and all that. Now I checked my cid and it's 22222222:

2. What does that mean?
3. Do I have to root, unlock bootloader, and turn s-off to update the ruu or can I do it just here how it is? Or will it hard brick again?
I can't take another hard brick so kindly help me out please. Thank you

Sounds like you are asking for some hand holding rather than researching and learning on your own. You had plenty of time to search and read and learn. I know you will get help but I don't think you deserve it.

Excuse me, fyi I have been searching. I have like 20 tabs open. I've been searching for what all 2s mean If I found something you think I would've asked? Excuse me if I don't want my phone hard brick again! Don't be an ass! I'm trying and I'm learning slowly. If I don't ask how the hell am I gonna learn eh? All I'm asking is if I have to go through the rooting process or I can just update the ruu, I'm not asking how to from A to Z -_- I can do everything else myself thank you very much!

Hi, I'm back again. Okay so I got my htc one x jtagged and I'm smiling from ear to ear but yea I'm really over ics so I'm about ready to root and all that. Now I checked my cid and it's 22222222:
1. Is that bad?
2. What does that mean?
3. Do I have to root, unlock bootloader, and turn s-off to update the ruu or can I do it just here how it is? Or will it hard brick again?
I can't take another hard brick so kindly help me out please. Thank you

1. no
2. It's Super CID. It bypasses CID checks allowing you to flash things not intended for your device region. it also allows you to S-OFF
3. If you JTAGGED you might already be S-OFF, check in bootloader. IF you try to RUU and you are not S-OFF you risk bricking.

Thank You! Last time when I rooted it the supercid was all 1s and I didn't expect all 2s so I just wanted to make sure. And yes, it's S-ON. I only wanted it repaired, I wanna do the rest myself.
So thanks again I'll root it and turn S-OFF and hope I don't brick it a second time.

So I'm trying to root it but cmd is saying CID not found. If 22222222 is a SuperCID then why does it say it failed? I'll paste it below:

you do not need to do that. that exploit gives you supercid so you can unlock the bootloader through htcdev. Since you already have supercid, if you're bootloader is not unlocked, unlock it through htcdev.com and then flash recovery, then flash a rom or flash su to get root.
Yeah, what exad said.
