Hello all xda community.
I want to ask help from people about my problem.
Ok first, i try to follow jammasterclay.webs.com/step2 regarding multiwindows cascade in note 10.1
when i try using zipthemer then try to configure the step, i get error from zipthemer that "failed to find system mount/umount commands in updater-script". So i hope help from the community regarding the problem. I dont have any idea. I try searching with google also not get the answer.
i get the same message. i used the latest supersu version.
i pm'ed JamMasterClay and i hope he will reply to us
The issue is that chainfire changed how the SuperSU instillation method works. I'm sure it's still possible to make the ZipThemer method work, but I am investigating newer methods such that ZipThemer won't need to be used at all, you will simply have to flash the zip in recovery, regardless of ROM.
I'm currently in the middle of having to re-install Windows and set up my computer again, so bear with me - it might be a few days. I'll try to have something soon though.
Update: The new method works. I'm going to put everything together and will update the original thread. I'll let you guys know when that's done.

I updated my thread with new steps. Follow the steps found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136313 and everything should work perfectly. Let me know if you have any problems.

Im really new to rooting phones && this ODIN stuff. I want to get the Glorious Overdose rom but I need KJ2. I downloaded the [ROM][ODIN] T839UVKJ2 (Sidekick 4G) Firmware [13.10.11] but it got my phone stuck in the logo screen loop. I really want the rom , can anyone help ?!
bump..
This is my first post - but have spent the past few weeks searching through the depths of xda. I know the rules, and am rather turned off that questions get immediately shot down.
I'm not new to this but am no expert either. My phone is soft bricked, though not the first time and been able to get myself out of it a few times. However I am not stuck, trying in ODIN, but either am not receiving the proper files to download on this on other forums, or something is not working.
I've had a ton of questions but tried to trouble shoot, since it appears most on here either get ignored (hence above) or receive a weeks worth of "WHY are you asking questions dumbass?!" responses without help.
Though there are alot of you that have been tremendous help, through reading your responses to those have similar questions.
Anyway - bump this subject - Ive downloaded multiple zips and files relating to what my sk4g needs to odin properly, however none have worked. some have made it through odin, but reek havoc on the phone and still will not boot.
does anyone have the modern rar and mc5 files i need to odin flash my sk4g. ultimately im looking to flash glorious overdose and soo close, only to end up sooooo far behind with bricks.
any help or file links would be great
Hey guys. I know how you feel on the no answering of the posts. I got a lot of that when I first started out. Don't get discouraged though. I think both of you guys are soft bricked. Go to this site http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6H-5SSE0E0, he will give you a full description w/ video on how to odin back to normal. Make sure your phone is in downloading mode (there is a vid link for that too.) I myself am tryin to find a way to get to get the update, so i can try another rom. Hope this helps, don't get discouraged!
the link is not working i am trying to do this too! damn government.... does anybody have a good working link?
this is only to get back from a soft brick. as far as trying to switch over to kj1 im not too sure. been tryin to find a link or post about it. the link works fine for me.
---------- Post added at 08:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:44 PM ----------
ok guys. odin your phones using the link earlier. when that is done, you will be back to stock. after that go to http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2452. this is tmobiles site which will give you the samsung klies app, which will then update(when directions are followed) and you will have kj2 operating system. from there you root your phone, and can put on your new rom. search the internet guys. i bounced around 3 different sites and found the answer in about 10 minutes. seek and you shall find...
Just to update. I did try and it did not work. trying to find a fix guys.
---------- Post added at 11:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:30 PM ----------
Just to let you guys know i tried the Heimdall file and it worked fine. Had to try about 5 times but it worked. Phone wiped to original state and now doing the klies upgrade for the phone. will be flashing glorious overdose in a second.
This thread seems to be developing pretty nicely..
I need help with my bric.. I mean Sidekick.
Soft-bricked it trying to flash Smooth Maximus I believe..
I can get it into download mode but I need mirrors.
does anyone have the KD1 or KG2 stock .tars? If so, a mirror would be VERY helpful to quite a few people now.. =\
EDIT: I found a firmware claiming to be newer than the 2 mentioned above. It is labeled "KH1" instead of either KD1 or KG2.
http://hotfile.com/dl/145788939/08a9a06/SGH-T839_T839UVKH1_TMB.zip.htm
That is the address to it, I just downloaded it so I can confirm it is a working link.
You will need the password to open the file, and to get it, sign up on samfirmware.com (free), and look for the password for files containing the symbol "##".
It should be in place of the KD1OdinSTOCK.tar, or the KG2OdinSTOCK.tar, along with the .pit being sk4g.pit.
Any questions or comments, (I'm not an expert by any chance at all) Ask me and I'll try my hardest to answer.
Is KH1 a beta because my sidekick doesn't detect it as an update?

Hi I have had a Duke in Asia for about 6 months fully rooted running 3.2, so it is possible. I have attached all files and instructions in a word document to allow this to happen, but it is as always at your own risk. Please refer to the Euro version under "Tablet PC Duke Root" discussion forum for other queries
Thanks to Krtonsrx8 who supplied the boot image from "Tablet PC Duke" from Europe I have updated the install files to make the installation simpler for the Europeans. I have also modded the boot file from Europe so now there are separate processes for the Asian "Prolink TA8 Tablet" (mine) and the Europe tablet mentioned in this discussion.

hi just seen your post, it has been a while since I put everything together. Make sure the .android folder is under your user folder and that USB debug is ticked under development. Have another look at the instructions and follow them line for line and you will get there

kick, still need help, tablet useless this way,, anybody?
Hey dudes, thanks in advance for reading.
Having a tough time rooting this thing - B90; stock ICS 4.0.3; build 9.2.1.17
I've tried viperMOD (although the version 4.5 download link is broken so tried the old version) - no results
I've tried nachoroot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427838) and end up with this error:
failed on '/data/sensors/AMI304_config.ini' - Permission denied
link failed File exists
/data/local/nachoroot.bin: break: cannot break
I've tried rolling the firmware back via )http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1417006) but when I try and enter recovery, I get the gears for a couple seconds then the dead android.
I have the Asus Sync software installed (not running while doing any of this, nor the stupid Splashtop streamer which won't uninstall) for the drivers.
Has anybody had any luck rooting the later models? I can't be SOL, I want to like this thing but the stock android is crippling the user experience. Any help or relevant links would be greatly appreciated!
The latest ver of ViperMOD Prime worked for me...and very easily. Exactly what happened with your attempt to use ViperMOD Prime root?
---------- Post added at 12:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:13 PM ----------
btw...viperboy has a website:
http://vipermod.tiamat-dev.com/
you can get the curr ver there.
Just ran viperMod again, option 1 (I only have 3 choices, root, unroot, exit). This should be viperMod 4.1.
The script finished and rebooted twice just like the nachoroot procedure. After the second reboot I get uid=2000<shell> gid=2000<shell>, ....
These two entries should be zero, no?
Does anybody have a copy of the viperMod 4.5?
Here you can get the latest version of ViperMod (use option 1)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25036158&postcount=21
genius! it works.
thank you sir for finding the file and thanks to viperboy for the script. on to flashing.
Have problem two!
Im on 8.6.6.23 and in settings are no update avalible, where i get this?
But my greater problem is i get no root... with all listen mods in threat, also vipermod 4.5.
Can anybody help pls
This is a continuation of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2769405 which is now closed.
I spent several hours trying the various suggestions and all of them failed for one reason or another. I spent the most effort in returning to stock since that is the cleanest approach. The one click link provided in the original thread has a dead link to the files necessary for it to work. I tried another thread for returning to stock but I am receiving the ODIN error "FAIL! (Auth)". I tried following the instructions in this thread to resolve this ODIN error but it also did not work after several attempts.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2519669
This is just a suspicious, but I believe what has happened is that when I initially tried applying the 4.4 OTA it knox'd the boot loader and will only take 4.4 or greater ROMs. Forgive me if I used those terms improperly, but that's the impression I am getting from all of the searching I have been doing on this. All return to stock guides I have found start by flashing 4.3, but this results in the ODIN error that I haven't been able to resolve.
Any additional help pointing me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.
Hi again!
Here is what seems to be a very informative thread on Odin, Knox, and its current.
If the info here doesn't help, then its the perfect thread to ask for help in!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2743554
Hopefully that works!

And its sprint. The only thing you'd need to be sure is that you get the firmware for your particular model. But everything else would be the same. ?
I read through most of the thread. It doesn't explicitly address my situation but it definitely reads like it might implicitly have the information I'm looking for. If not, it is definitely the place to post questions. Thanks for that help! I did a ton of searching and never came across that thread.
Okay, so I am new to all of this (sorta) and I don't know what is happening. So I have my Galaxy s5 (900V) rooted on version 4.4.4 ( thread to how I rooted my phone {including all files and kernals used: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/safely-upgrade-root-4-4-4-nha-volte-t2879348}) and when I use ROM Installer to try and install a rom, no matter what rom it is, it always goes into the recovery boot and says, "Installing Updates" and then goes to "No command" and it forces me to reboot my phone, then says "error" and restarts. I want to install the Carbon ROM but it just wont let me. Please halp :/
Hi,
I'm not sure what "rom installer" is, but I suggest you read the flashing instructions in the rom thread you are trying and follow them exactly. And if you have issues, Asking in the rom thread is the best option.
Good luck!
Could you send me a link to that page? And ROM installer is just a basic installer for ROMs. It automatically does it for you. It might just be the app but, I've used multiple apps.. Please link me though
You must know where the rom threads are if you've already tried them?? Read the first posts for flashing instructions. I can't pick a particular rom for you, that's up to you. ?

Here is the section for your device. Roms can be found in the development sections. Be sure you choose ones made for your exact model number.

Further questions about your device can be asked in the Q&A section.
