There is not an option on your ROM... And for all purposes you should not need it. Titanium backup usually requires you to do this or it may cause errors. But with no aval I have not ran into an app that hasn't worked properly by not changing the setting.. Even adb is working to side load apps.

Try these, click software tab

To get my pc to recognize my captivate I had to use my rear usb not my front ones.

And what is your USB settings set to? If you don't know, go to:
Settings->Applications->USB settings
I tried all of the ports and have tried usb debugging and mass storage and kies

Try different drivers. Like the link I posted. Sometimes you may have to lead your computer to the drivers. When the pop up says unknown device click on it. You will need to know where the drivers are saved. Guide it to the drivers
Or you can insist you have done everything and in which case why create a thread
i installed the drivers, now do i need to restart my computer, thx again
Then take it into an AT&T store and see if they can make an USB connection. If not, then you can get the phone replaced with one that does work.

Kies used to recognize my phone till it was on JF6 stock. Even after 2.1 update 1 JF7, it stopped connecting.
I connected my phone as usual to the computer via usb but all it does is charge.
No usb icon, no popup on computer no missing id just charging as if it was plugged in to a wall outlet.
never had this problem before
any ideas?

Are you stock or modded?
Solution lies in the phone
a. key in the dialer *#7284#
b. it has 4 option there..
UART (MODEM/PDA)
USB (MODEM/PDA)
c. For USB. select the PDA.if it already selected to PDA. reselect it by select MODEM and then PDA again.. Only change the USB setting.. andthen press back. try reconnect

When you re-installed the drivers on your computer did you first remove the old ones? Or just run the install again? (Stupid question, I know, but I had to ask)
I've ran out of ideas the last think i can think of is restoring to a backup or odin back to stock...

installed over but Im pretty sure its not the comp because other devices work perfectly fine and regardless if drivers are installed or not the computer would detect unknown hardware
Uninstall the drivers then re-install them. I'm 99.9% positive that will work for you. For some reason they corrupt or something, and your computer wouldn't recognize it as new hardware if it thinks it already has the drivers installed.

I have a weird battery bug with the TamsuiCM11 from @UltraGamerHD for Xperia E. I know that for some user, their battery display is stuck at 100% and can't charge.
On my device the percetage is correctly displayed and updated but I still can't charge. Neither with the charger nor on a computer. And my computer won't recognise it either, I also can't access its internal storage.
The offline charge doesn't work either. When I turn my Xperia E off and connect it to the charger the phone simply boots up the CM11 without going into the offline charge mode.
It doesn't seem to be a problem with the kernel, since the phone does charge the battery in the recovery mode.
I installed CM11 just like the instruction said. Does anybody have the same problem?
Edit: I just saw that UltraGamerHD relased the alpha 3. I should probably mention that I tried this with Alpha 2 yesterday.
Go to Settings > Storage. Press the Menu button. Select USB connection settings (or whatever it is - it's the only option in the menu), and then tap MTP. Problem solved.
-Install Android terminal emulator
-Open it and type:
echo 08> / sys/devices/i2c-2/2-0034/axp20_reg
[Press enter]
echo 0800> / sys/devices/i2c-2/2-0034/axp20_reg
[Press enter]
-Reboot device
-Discharge and recharge battery
-It will help you
P.S. Sorry for my english

Thanks for the suggestion. I currently don't have CM11 on my Xperia E to test it, but isn't "MTP" already the default setting for it? At least on the stock ROM it is the default. The battery won't charge right from the get-go, immediately after I've flashed.

On CM11, the stock setting is nothing - that is why your phone can't talk to the charger and/or computer.

Your Windows/Mac/Linux version is too old to support MTP - you need to use PTP to transfer data.

Um... wait. Windows 7?! You should have MTP support... try to plug it, unplug it immediately, then plug it in again. At least in 8.1, this forces Windows to redetect drivers.

Weird Network and battery bug with Tamsui CM11 Nanhu
I have a Sony Xperia E Single Sim. I am using the latest build from this thread. .
Apart from known issues, I have a strange problem. After using my phone for few days, the network connectivity stops and battery stops charging.
This has happened twice in last 1 week. I had to flash the JB ROM ftf again using the flash tool and then push the kernel and the CM11 again to get everything working again.
I am using "batteryfix.img" kernel.

Don't use the battery fix kernel - it's old. Just flash the ROM and use the boot.img inside it as the kernel.
Thank you so much for quick reply,
I flashed the batteryfix kernel using flash tool and then flashed the cm11 rom zip. Does that mean batteryfix was overwritten? or should I extract the boot.img and flash using flash tool again?

You can find Samsung USB drivers here.
http://www.teamandroid.com/download-android-usb-drivers/
Alternatively, the drivers should automatically be installed when you install Smart Switch desktop app which you can get from Samsung's website.
Once the drivers are installed you should be and to plug in the phone and all should be OK.
I'd have thought that installing Kies would have fixed your issue so the above may not work but my fingers are crossed for you

Hi all, I have been having a problem for the longest time now. My s6 refuses to connect to any pc. My first laptop had windows 7 on it and the s6 would successfully connect to it. That laptop is no more and i upgraded to a new one with win 10 installed on it. This laptop along with 2 others windows 7 completely refuses to connect to my phone. I think i have tried every "solution" but nothing works. My phone is rooted with a custom rom and the fast charge also refuses to work. I need to be able to connect to windows so i can reinstall the original firmware for a warranty exchange. Yes, i have all sumsung drivers installed, i have the original cable (and more), i tried smart switch, it still doesn't work. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

can someone please help me sort this out? I have tried numerous methods to get the phone to connect, all of which has been unsuccessful. Everyone knows the struggle of not being able to connect to windows.. thanks in advance.
The problem could be the USB port on the phone. Or the data / charging cable may be faulty.
Try download Shortcut master lite from playstore, run secret code explorer in it, then code 0808, and set AP and MTP+ADB to see phone as disk in windows, this helped me, hope it will help you.
