CyanogenMod/CWM is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed.
This is CWM for Wiko Stairway. As there are no custom roms (yet), this might not be very useful as of now
Do not install on any other device than the Wiko Stairway - I have not tested it on other clones (e.g. the Canvas4 210).
Note:
- The recovery has been compiled from Cyanogenmod 10.1
- minimal device tree that builds recovery https://github.com/chrmhoffmann/android_device_wiko_stairway
- the battery driver problem seems to have been resolved with newer kernel source from wiko, so please upgrade to 0.3
Before proceeding please make a complete backup for ALL partitions (especially the recovery with e.g. MTK Droid Root & Tools).
Thxs go to:
- bgcngm/mtk-tools
- the guys who make MTK droid root & tools
- wiko for updating the source
What works
- you can adb into the CWM
- backup and restore (boot, data, cache, system)
- install from .zip files
Installation
a) Get fastboot executable (apt-get install android-tools-fastboot)
b) and then bring device in fastboot mode (power up then press Vol Down + Vol Up -> Follow the instructions to fastboot)
c) on command line "fastboot flash recovery cwm-recovery-wiko-stairway.img"
d) on command line "fastboot reboot"
e) bring device to recovery (power up then press Vol Down + Vol Up -> follow the instructions to recovery)
Changelog 0.3
- kernel now compiled from new Wiko source STAIRWAY_Opensource_new46752.zip which seems to fix the battery thermo issue
- stripped down kernel (without sound, etc.) to fit into recovery partition size. no other changes to kernel source

Changelog
- tried nandroid backup/restore: seems to do the trick
- new self-compiled kernel! YAY!
- stripped down version of kernel (disabled wifi, sound, debug, etc). CWM is complete though.

device tree
Hi,
The device tree is here: https://github.com/chrmhoffmann/android_device_wiko_stairway
(the perl header builder is taken from bgcngm. thx!)
It should now build from scratch. The kernel is still a binary blob (self compiled though) as the MTK kernel build system is .... errr... different.
Chris
I confirm that another way is to install the CWM recovery with Mobileuncle MTK tools https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobileuncle.toolbox :good:
Hi,
How is it to remove the custom recovery to return to after-sales service ?
Comment supprimer le recovery custom que vous proposez afin d'envoyer le smartphone à Wiko ?
Thx

Hi,
new version available. New kernel source from wiko seems to fix the battery thermo driver issue. Amazing that they released new source. Thx, WIKO!
800 downloads and only two thanks in the OP!

Hi chrmhoffman,
Great job (and I already hit may thx buttons), but it seems that in my Wiko Stairway it doesn't mount the SD card.
Everytime I select "mount external_sd" it just says "Error mounting /external_sd".
I can only access internal SD.
Can you advise me on that?
thx
I think it should mount the sdcard with the other menu options for mounting. I don't think I can remove that option.

I'm not asking to remove the option. I actually can't access the external SD.
Usually I have to copy whatever I want to flash to internal SD (and this already got me in some troubles when I format the system and forget to copy the rom).
So when you say

Which one are you speaking about because I tried them all. What am I doing wrong?
Thx, again
Sorry I got confused.... Mounting external sd card works for me. Did you try version 0.3?
I tested with 0.3 and I was able to go to "mounts and storage"-> "mount /external_sd"
Is the card partitioned? What filesystem is the card formatted with? fat should work.
Can u provide file /tmp/recovery.log from the recovery when that happens?
Chris
PS: adb pull /tmp/recovery.log
It's not so simple to intall, like latest ROM...

This is an AOSP-based build with extra contributions from many people which you can use without any type of Google applications. I found a link from some other project that can be used to restore the Google parts, which can be found below or elsewhere in the thread. I've still included the various hardware-specific code, which seems to be slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Reporting Bugs
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread.
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. The following is a useful format to follow.
Code:

No, read inside the brackets
The "CWM Recovery 6.0.1.0 for A700" has broken build prop and will cause the device check to fail.

Actually, I did read inside the brackets, but the CWM in the mentioned thread is not a touch version, or so I thought, that's why I asked.
EDIT: Now I realised that we were talking about the exact same thread title.
Anyways, I will flash this one, give it a whirl and read twice or more next time.
Jeez, where is my mind...
Thanks again.

does anyone else get e:Can't mount /sdcard/ ?

The installer doesn't, but you'll need to wipe data for it to boot successfully. Wiping data won't wipe your internal sdcard though.

I had the other CWM you posted in the other thread which the tablet seemed to boot into just fine.
i'm running a a700 with the a701 rom from way back, is that my issue?

This is great , do not stop ! We need a stable 4.4
New Boot.img !
Fixed Deep Sleep bug, Front Camera and a lot of little fixes...
Link to download new boot.img : http://www103.zippyshare.com/v/xRRsoYKi/file.html you have to flash with TWRP recovery.
I installed Open Gapps 4.4.4, and the rom is very usable.
Have a nice day !

It isn't a nexus7. Baseband is unknown because it is a Duma. What is the issue that baseband Can make?
My tablet ME302KL, not Nexus7.Wifi connect to router, but not mobilnet. Dirty flash: rom, open gapps, new boot img = baseband unknow.
Mobile network works fine. 3g and 4G.
Solved Baseband unknow, but 3G and 4G work fine over wifi.

Installation
Before doing anything let me tell you your main rom should be LineageOs 13
1) first download recovery , kernel and multi rom patch
2) flash recovery zip file using your recovery ( name : - multirom-20160929-3.0.28-UNOFFICIAL-arubaslim.zip don't do any mistake )
3) after flashing recovery flash kernel (name :- kernel-20170218-3.4.0-UNOFFICIAL-arubaslim.zip)
4) then reboot recovery
5) after rebooting you should see new recovery then flash multi rom patch zip from recovery (name :- multirom-20160929-v33-UNOFFICIAL-arubaslim.zip) click inject bootimage and reboot recovery again
6) click add roms then add zip file and flash !
7) after flashing reboot system and enjoy
You can manage your roms using this app https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298932194

Hi bro excellent work! Its compatible with i8260 to? And on the first line where it says "Before doing anything let me tell you your main rom should be los13" you refer to CM13? Or which rom?
EDIT: I already understood that you were referring to LineageOs. You could write it as LOs or the full name to avoid confusion, just a tip. Thanks!
Works perfectly, thanks!
Bro,whats the bugs?

Does not have any bugs bro
My doubt is we have only internal storage of 4GB.So will be apps same in two roms?
Is there any way to remove this recovery with boot injector?
can you please make it one for galaxy core 2 please
I have an error in the apk ...it shows me "MultiROM recovery is not installed.Failed to download info about updates!" ,despite the fact that i've done everything and i can boot normally recovery and primary rom (linage 13) through the boot menu of the mod. Also i can't boot the secondary rom i installed (cm 11 4.4) it is stuck before loading the rom but i don't know if it has something to do with it.Should i do everything all over again?
