CyanogenMod is a free, community built distribution of Android 2.3.7 (Gingerbread) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.

* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

This is an AOSP-based build with extra contributions from many people which you can use without any type of Google applications. I found a link from some other project that can be used to restore the Google parts, which can be found below or elsewhere in the thread. I've still included the various hardware-specific code, which seems to be slowly being open-sourced anyway.

CDMA Roaming Mode Issues
I'm on C Sprire and I am having problems when traveling. While I'm in Starkville (where I rooted my phone and flashed CM7) everything is perfect. Everything I have used works. Yesterday I had to drive to Jackson and when I was about 50 miles away I lost signal. I went to check my mobile network settings and tried to switch the CDMA roaming mode to "Affiliated Networks" but it wouldn't save that setting. When I did this it would bring 3G back but I still had no "cell" signal (I couldn't call or text). After a while I would lose 3G, go check the CDMA mode, and it had switched back to "Home Only." "Automatic" did nothing.
I tried following the instructions in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InN-Z340BO0 this video but couldn't find the com.android.hiddenmenu file. Instead I had some sort of motorola menu item that couldn't be expanded. Crazy.
So, I'm back home and everything is working fine. As soon as I got back in range it started working again. I don't know enough about how these networks are set up to figure out what the problem is. Is it possible I'm somehow just tied to Starkville?
I have some time before I have to travel again, so I thought I would ask you guys what you thought before flashing back to the stock Samsung crappiness. CM7 is so much faster, and I love it so much, but I need to be able to text and call outside of Starkville.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
I have had the same results using a CM7 based ROM.
Now that CSpire has released the 2.3.5 update is there anyway to get that modem incorporated into cyanogenmod? I just keep running into connectivity issues. Is there anything I can do to help?

Reporting Bugs
You are allowed to report bugs only at the u81xxcm91 bug tracker. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.
REPORT BUGS IN THIS THREAD ONLY
Grab a logcat (adb logcat -d > logcat.txt) right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)

Very smooth, better than other cm9.1 roms. (usb mass storage isnt working )
Check PC, usb mass storage is full working, i ultra tested it xD
Alberto,
I appreciate you putting me in the credits, but your first post is still misleading, as it suggests that you have built this ROM from source. In fact, you are not building from source - it is a binary modification of my most recent CM9 build (which I really have built from source).
Another (small, but annoying) thing you have done is changed the authorship of scripts that are clearly not your own. For example, your "02HuaweiProps" script says "by Alberto96", but in fact it is an unmodified version of my "02setuphardware" script, which you can see here: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...ngerbread/prebuilt/etc/init.d/02setuphardware. It is generally not good behaviour to try and pass off other people's work as your own.
Yes is true, i changed it (script) as before i mod it adding some changes (for u8180 touch and differences in camera), but i changed them differently and i leave my credits in scripts. Sorry, i will fix it in next version. I will add also this alert in first post. Thanks for the alert
UPDATE: Fixed for Future Release
U8120/10/00 Version almost ready, only need testing on bluetooth and is ok All is new now, audio module, graphic initializer,.... all! Works smooth and without problems. Link will appear on thread when rom test is succesfully. U8150 rom needs still to be tested.

general impressions are good for U8110
- sound is a little weaker but can survive
- wifi, bluetooth, camera works
the biggest problem is the calibration screen, the corners and the top and bottom of the screen is very difficult
thanks for your hard work for us
