hi i'm new 2 xdadev and i'm asking what will be the best ics based rom 4 my next coming galaxy s 2 and maybe some good kernels and tweaks and etcc. thanks 2 all bye
Quick warning that may help you: on the portal a few days ago there was an article about an issue with offical (leaked) SGS2 kernels that can cause your eMMC to become corrupted. That will irreversibly brick your phone. Just be careful

You should give a try to cyanogenmod 9 (they said its pretty unstable but still)
No CM9. Please try one of the many custom Samsung roms and AOKP roms which are trending at the moment....

Hey. Try resurrection remix. It's in the SGS2 android development section. And I find that the SiyahKernel 3.2.7.2 is the best so far. You can turn on bln. This let's your menu and back keys blink when you have a new message.
You have to download "extweaks" from play store to activate this.

CriskeloServanTeam is a BIG rom, it is that i use
Wrong forum. Should be posted in the SGS2 subforum...
Desire S • Fallout V2.0.0 • xda premium
SlimICS

New SGS3 flavored ROM - requirements definition

Hi Guys
I want to make an (English) SGSIII flavored ROM for our SGH-T959V.
What I thought of :
1. Based on Team Acid CM9 / Erikmm's IMM76L.
2. Added Touch Wiz ICS.
3. Added S-Voice app.
4. Added Smart Stay MOD.
5. Some theming (maybe ask for Raver's advises/participation).
6. AwesomeBeats (by Awesome).
7. Dalvik optimized (Odexed) by airfluip.
Let me know what you think and please raise your suggestions.
I want to gether them all before starting to work.
Thanks.
P.S
Obviously it will need some heavy testing as these MODs are quite mem eaters...
You know where to find me ;-)
Oh, it seems RemICS has the same vision.
I will ask Team Unknown to add some more features. No need to make another similar ROM.

Right now, I'm trying to find S-Memo that comes on GS3, if I can find it, you should definately incorporate it if it's possible. Watch a video of it, it's pretty awesome.
Look at the sgs3 forums download a rom then unzip and got to system/app and find the S memo
This is getting way off topic.
So far I decided to base ROM on Erikmm's IMM76L ROM, take SGSIII stuff from RemICS, add more features such as AwesomeBeats, smartstay, TWICS.
I will look into SGS3 memo.
Regarding wifi calling I'm pretty dependant on Erik implementing Team Acid fix once and if it arrives.
More suggestions please.

Please don't include pink unicorns or dancing bunnies.....lol...just messing around bro...I'll change this as soon as I can think of something I can't add, change,or fix

Any roms you guys want for the blaze?

Ok this thread got buried in the other threads. Let's bring it back. Any roms you guys want for the blaze? Let's go from ICS to Jellybean 4.2 (expect no wifi for 4.2).
Rootbox looks interesting. I have read good things about it on the galaxy exhibit thread.

Edit fixed link
A continued port / update of SlimBeam would be great. One of the Allstar Devs also has a Slimbean based rom on the GS2.

Asking now,
former exhibit 4g owner
Hello all new to the blaze forums lol. Previously had the galaxy exhibit 4g, and tried all the roms with slimbean being great! But my favorite rom for the exhibit was Rootbox! So hell yeah for attempting to create this rom because it is totally worth it!!! And i was totally excited to see some action on the blaze forums, and all will speak for me when i say who wants stock when awesome devs create roms that ROCK!!!!
I have been trying to download rootbox source for a couple of days now.. Keeps getting stuck at 97%. anyone know if they are having problems with their repo.
Going to try again today..

All Stars are about to make all their ROMS open source so that's nice.
Got to get some ports..lol Damn 10.1
Well what I want is a rom with a full LCARS star trek style ui, I would prefer a borg appearance but starfleet would work as well, and TNG at least not origianal its too cheesy looking
although i think that might be way too difficult

Excuse me..please post this in general section..this thread is nothing to do in this section
Mods please move this thread to general section
@gurasees the more the better isn't it always so.
My suggestion is to port paranoid android 3.x(preferably source built). You can use Paul.L sources(take permission of course).
@Raj joshi the mods usually don't monitor legacy or low-end device thread so you might have to pm one.
my sugest is to make a good cm9 for fit because we have too small screen for pac

I also think that Galaxy Fit has a screen size not suitable for parandroid because parandroid is all about hybrid interface and better on sizes above 4 inches according to me.
Currently i am working on a rom For my new Nexus and will begin development as soon as i am finished with it.

Please dont port other Roms, at the end we just get unstable and incompatible Roms; You can see this ports in the forum all of them have bugs . Will be great if you build a pure AOSP for Fit 2.3, No one finish that proyect, and right now the proyect is dead. A Stock gingerbread base and theme Rom will be great too.
Yeah please!!!!Miui is under aditya...He will manage thatCan u plz try pure AOSP gb?

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
Who is Team Carbon?

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

Any chance this supports BLN in the kernel? I'm guessing not, but then I've also found that the few ROMs which do, don't tend to mention it in the features.

I'm tracking the cm kernel so no. Bln is known for random reboots so I didn't need to implement it.

Thinking of moving from 4.3. I don't see a bug list here, or one of those "THINGS NOT WORKING" lists. Looked at your website, didn't see it there. Is the info somewhere?

You know, I've seen all sorts of negatives said about BLN, but most seem almost mythological. lol I've used it full time for about a year, on various kernels and ROMs. Only real bug I've ever seen is that it seems to interfere with vibration feedback at times with some kernels. Which, I can see why you'd leave it out for that. Was just curious, as that's my must have feature. Thanks for taking the time to answer!
