About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub. and on our Gerrit CarbonDev Gerrit.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

Any chance this supports BLN in the kernel? I'm guessing not, but then I've also found that the few ROMs which do, don't tend to mention it in the features.

I'm tracking the cm kernel so no. Bln is known for random reboots so I didn't need to implement it.

Running nice so far and seems to be good on battery too. Only issue so far is some apps eg xda, wont remain in a folder after a reboot.

Thinking of moving from 4.3. I don't see a bug list here, or one of those "THINGS NOT WORKING" lists. Looked at your website, didn't see it there. Is the info somewhere?

You know, I've seen all sorts of negatives said about BLN, but most seem almost mythological. lol I've used it full time for about a year, on various kernels and ROMs. Only real bug I've ever seen is that it seems to interfere with vibration feedback at times with some kernels. Which, I can see why you'd leave it out for that. Was just curious, as that's my must have feature. Thanks for taking the time to answer!

Our next goal is to put together a build machine, and we need your help. Why do we need a server? Well, a few reasons. The first is the most obvious - we'd like to build more frequently and need the hardware to support it. That means drive space and speed. The more of each we have, the more we can say "hey let's crank out a build," and throw it up on goo so you see an update in goomanager. Right now, building is a pretty intensive all-day process. The second reason is stability. Building from a development machine means that the environment itself is less stable. This translates into, again, fewer builds and more work to make them. Faster building means we can build for more devices, too. All this free time means we can do more cool stuff. We've got a lot of great ideas coming, and every bit of time we can get to work on them means a better rom for you. If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

This release is built from CarbonDEV's source on there github, with some changes to get it to build for evita. InflatedTitan's port on Kole_Ackerson thread is a dirty port using a evita rom as base (liquidsmooth i believe) and coping over the files for carbonROM from another device. Nothing against InflatedTitan. But source built roms usually have fewer bugs and are a much cleaner "port"

One trick to that is just to tap your power button once you're in the call, that way it turns your screen off.

Could I have some clarification on some things?
From a framework/basic structure/whatever level, how is this ROM different from the other similar 4.2.2 AOSP based ROMs, most of which have very similar features? I've always wondered what – if anything – at the base level is unique between such ROMs.
Just wondering cause I've tried a few other of the feature-heavy AOSP-based ROMs and most of the features seem very similar.

Thanks! When I use this kernel and toggle "disable HW overlays" in developer options, everything is very smooth (without that toggle it's the same as the stock kernel - jittery). I am running at 1134/192, and it's very smooth.

Good question! From what I understand, this particular ROM has superior battery life when compared to other aosp based ROMs like cm10.1. So I'd be very curious to know as well.

Re: [ROM][AOSP] CarbonRom 1.6 unoffical JB 4.2.2 [evita]
So I've noticed a couple of glitches with the gallery. Firstly it wouldn't show any media whatsoever, reboot fixed that. Then when trying to open it, it kept telling me "unfortunately gallery has stopped", and a reboot seems to have fixed that. Other than those small issues this ROM seems to be running quite well.

Hi gals/guys, I'm making this thread to clean up the official CM-10.2 thread and to give you unique opportunity of flashing cm-10.2 builds with something extra in it..
I don't take ANY credits for this, I'm only posting uploading builds that I'm using as my personal and think of them as that.
Also there is NO use of posting rom bugs because I won't be working on them and they are 100% identical bugs as CM official 10.2 nightly!
Now when that is clear, here is the download folder of the builds:
http://goo.gl/DWGqq0
You'll find fresh builds there that I upload when I feel that CM made enough changes and are worth uplaoding and proper 4.3 gapps of course.
For now ALL builds will have:
stock CM kernel BUT capable od s2w, dt2w, l2m, etc what was reverted in official CM
kernel supports FastCharge and UV
Adcanced menu under Settings/Device/more... that was also removed from official CM
IR working - that is for now not a feature of CM (I'm using Smart Remote but it's a paid app, but I think that this one should work also: http://goo.gl/hFmgcy) - credits to Randall Rushing
CMAccount in the added: http://goo.gl/FDHKDP (you must make CM account over phone or over the link I posted)
Currently latest build of 21.08. has all that included.
Sorry for no MD5, but I already changed dpi to 420, to copy to my phone and than changed it back to 480, so original MD5 won't be the same.
I hope I make at least someone happy with these builds
Again, I don't take any credits for this!!
Oh and to be compliant with GPL, this is the kernel link what I'm currently using for the builds: http://goo.gl/5s4I4D
RESERVED just in case
Thanks

Just wanted to let you guys know about a beanstalk build I found on goo. It's from 11-24 but it does have a handful of features some of you may be missing. So far so good for me.
Edit. Feel free to discuss you're luck, feelings, and how things are going for whatever KitKat build you're running at the moment.
I'm mainly concerned with builds like Slim, Carbon, OSE, and (Any builds LOL) that have built in settings for customizing everything under the sun. I know most everything can be done with xposed. And I've had no trouble with Xposed, but I'm just looking for roms out there that have this stuff baked in.
Thanks to all the dev's for bringing KitKat to the S3 so quickly. It's hasn't been long, and I know many Rom Groups are waiting until they can incorporate their feature set and get things stable, but the CM builds from Spencer and DMeadows have been nothing but solid for me. I just miss a lot of the little stuff. As one user suggested Gravity for Xposed works great, I just didn't want to go this route if possible.
Thanks guys for sharing all that you have to this point. I hope no one is mad or offended at me posting these things.. Everyone should know they could blow up your phone like the death star blew up alderan.

Thanks for pointing out.
Any additional features that are available compared to already available Unofficial CM 11 by sspencer10 ?
I searched but could not get any thread on beansstalk 4.4. Now Running on CM11 without any issues but dont mind trying something else also.
There is also a gummy build out too.

Are you using the app? I have found that Goo has not been downloading anything for a while. I have had to sideload everything. They say a fix is already done, but I have not seen it.

Where might I find that? I'd like to find a slim carbon or liquid. Anything that has net speed in the status bar. I know slim doesn't have that but it's still slick.
As far as this build. I didn't leave it on long because it lacked the ability to change the toggles. It did have some features that Spencer and meadows didn't have. But also lacked that one I mentioned earlier.
Guess I'm going to have to do some searching.... and see what else is out there.

I could not figure out how to edit in tapatalk. But I forgot to mention that yes I had some trouble getting the ROMs from goo. I had to try several times. It would say the download was starting but it wouldn't ever start.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Found the gummy build. It's from the 11-22. Is that the one you found? How are you liking it? I'll have to give it a try but I'm afraid the older builds won't be up to snuff like the cm builds from Meadows and Spencer.

Thanks a bunch man. I've been looking for a fairly recent build to at least be able to edit the quick settings, and use back to kill, lock screen stuff would be nice.. Anything else, is just icing on the cake. Beanstalk did have network speed toggable for the status bar. I enjoy that.. I like to know what kind of speed i'm getting. Thanks again. I totally forgot about ose. Seems like I remember running across a kitkat from there yesterday.

PA is running awesome! I think its the best 4.4 out and I've tried most of them. Invisibleks newest is great too. But PA added some features I love like Quick Reply messaging and option to disable the button lights.

Is that with the 11/29 build? I always disable the backlight keys and just use pie and the home button only. Idk why any devices have capacitive buttons still

Who is Team Carbon?
Find out here:
Carbon Team
Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

I don't have the means to support it. If we can get a maintainer, we might be able to make room to add it officially, however no promises.

I read somewhere carbon roms are the most feature filled. Thanks for supporting note 3.
But you guys have stiff competition from @temasek . He adds new features like a robot.
We're adding constantly, take a look at our gerrit and help us pie and halo are not enabled yet. We are waiting for the new ones from pa to come. Hopefully it will be soon.
