Latest root method - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm trading my Verizon note 2 for the s3 today, and was just wondering what the latest root method was. I used casual 1 click for my note 2 and I'm really hoping I can do the same when I get the s3. Any help is very much appreciated! Thanks guys!!

Well if you check the android development section prior to posting you see Casual pinned to the top of the section. There is also a few threads that asks how to use casual on this device which is further evidence.

Mobile ODIN Pro

I could have sworn that someone asked awhile back about this Chainfire app ... must have been before the forums got split up by carrier.
Anyone try this yet? I'm curious - as we're unlocked now - whether we can carry ODIN with us like the rest of the SIII population.
Here's a link to the xDa thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
edit: Mobile ODIN Pro 3.1 is up in the Play Store !!!

Don't think u can use it until the creator of the app says it's compatible with our system.

It might just not be compatable because the developer still assumes we have a locked BL. Now thats its unlocked like the rest of the varients it might just work.

I know Chainfire just got back from an extended vacation ... he's probably very busy.
I'm tempted to give it a try, though $4.99 is a bit steep for a program that may not work with our phones.
I'll put a link to the xDa thread on Mobile ODIN in my OP.

looks like the testing went well, from what i read in the thread... hopefully this will be posted today...
I spent the better part of yesterday testing 3.1 for Chainfire ... it is sweet.
Mobile ODIN Pro will actually take bone stock firmware (like an OTA), root it and inject SuperSU before flashing it to your phone.
Look for a release anytime now ...

[Q] How long before root packages become available after phone launch?

Thinking about pre-ordering the S4, but don't know how long it will take for a stock rooted package to come out. What's the average time?

Well, 1 this would be better asked in the s4 section. 2, it's probably already available. All that you gotta do is add the files to a stock package.

If I've helped, please hit the thanks button.
A carrier specific package would be available for VZW? The phone isn't being shipped yet.
One version is already rooted. The others should come quickly.

Phone won't ask for unlock code. help!

I bought the unlock code for my Samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket and I originally had it rooted on 4.0.3 I believe and I would insert my tmobile SIM and it wpuldnt prompt me for the unlock code. It just said invalid SIM. So now I thought maybe I did something wrong with the root or the firmware so I updated to 4.1 and it works greats no bugs but I still won't ask for the unlock code if someone could help me out here that would be great havent really messed with a galaxy s2 in a while since they first came out and not to good with gsm phones as I use cdma for the most part. All help is appreciated

Maybe be wrong but I think you have to be on a stock ROM. There's a thread in general about unlocking.
Edit: this may help.

There are YouTube guides. But if you can get your hands on a PC, do it, it will save you a lot of time. And Vincom's one stop will help you there.
