My phone's K2_UL
after trying to s-off with moonshine (unsuccessful), my phone is not stable : frequent automatic restarts (even after I just flash a new custom rom),
when i uninstall some system app by Titanium Backup then reboot, Those Apps still there.
i can not change font with apps
I want to return to stability!
Moonshine is only for JB, on k2_ul. If your apps still there, you are S-off, i think.
So, when you are on ICS, you can get SuperCid, then Facepalm S-Off, then you should be able to flash the European RUU. Should be possible cause you have k2_ul, but as ever, on your own risk!

This can also be the reason for your problems, cause we have jb hboot 2.00.

I you don't have a stock backup, you can think about the steps in post #6.
If you have a stock backup, restore it. Stock rom, stock boot.img, stock recovery, then do OTA update.

I don't use facebook. And this is something that you must solve on your pc.
The process is: copy the img from phone into sdcard and from sdcard into your adb folder. So maybe look into your sdcard (internal & external).
Ah, and did you allow on your pc to show hidden files!

can I use your guide for my thread ? I will give you credit.. thanks.
Why not do it the easy way since you're already S-OFF?
Take the ENG HBOOT found here and put the PG88IMG.zip in the root of your SD card
Boot into the bootloader (Volume Down + POWER)
Go into FASTBOOT mode
The bootloader will automagically detect your new HBOOT and install it
After rebooting your phone you can install any RUU you want. That will bring HBOOT back to the installed original
Make sure you make a good backup up front and be carefull what RUU to flash. The newer ones will overwrite HBOOT with version 0.98.0002, which, up to this date, can't be put to S-OFF yet by Alpharevx. I recommand you install the oldest RUU version you can find. A list of original ROMS can be found here
Good luck!
@nodeffect
Feel free.
@jorgen2009
such approach won't work with Alpharev hboot. They appear to have kinda locked it by making it appear ar 6.x Hboot version. That means, that bootloader will bypass upgrade. Been there, tried that, didn't work

With thanks to user Murchelago for providing adb method to restore stock boot and HTC for providing RUU's here is step by step, how to return to stock after Alpharevx S-Off.
Prerequisites:
Debugging mode on
Root access
Hboot.img (attached)
RUU for stock restore. Can be downloaded here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506
How to:
1. Put the hboot.img you want to flash in the root of the sdcard.
2. In cmd run the following commands (after each command press enter):
adb devices
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 of=/sdcard/backup.img
dd if=/sdcard/hboot.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18
reboot bootloader
3. RUN Downloaded RUU
4. You are on stock again!
After running ADB commands and rebooting into bootloader, you will get security warning. This is normal, just continue with flashing RUU.
Worked for me perfectly 3 times without any issues. However issues might occur and I can not take any responsibility for them. Use this tutorial on your own responsibility

I can confirm that you CANNOT just RUU a device. As the name implies, ROM Update Utility.
I followed everything on the first page and can confirm that I've successfully reverted back to HBOOT 0.98.0000.
AFAIK my phone was flashed with the hTC_Asia_WWE_1.31.707.2 on stock.
I tried to RUU using the oldest firmware that I can find, HTC_Europe_1.28.401.1. But it gave me the error 131 (AFAIK) customer ID error. About language and stuffs. Model ID, etc.
So I tried to RUU with the oldest hTC_Asia_WWE_1.31.707.2 (the oldest that I can find that is an ASIA one.). Then it gave me the error 140 (bootloader error). The readme doesn't have any information on this one, even on the net for HTC Saga.
So I tried to RUU with the "LATEST" hTC_Asia_WWE_1.48.707.1 that I found and everything works well. I really am not quite sure why I was not able to "downgrade", just "upgrade".
AFAIK i just updated my radio to the latest 20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M found on the hTC_Asia_WWE_1.48.707.1 when I was S-OFFed. It may have something to do with it.
Just an additional info. I'm now S-ON and on-stock hTC_Asia_WWE_1.48.707.1_20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M

Few hints (tweaks and bug fixes) for offical ICS rom:
-Install amidabuddha's Tweaked3 8.6 [3.0.43] kernel.
-App crashes when you click on a link.
Edit build.prop file. Search for ro.da1.enable=true in the file, set it to false and then add this line right after it: ro.da1.method=false
-Change default setting to turn WiFi off when phone is locked.
Change it to always on. It reduces power consumption. You can find this option in advanced WiFi settings.

Ok, to sum things up.
Overall I'm bit (actually quite lot) dissapointed - after so long waiting. The sense is laggy - HTC don't tell me, that my phone is not capable of running sense 3.6 smooth. On ice DS it was way smoother..

2, Will the battery percentage mod work for this ? If yes, can you please link the correct mod ?

two nights ago i decided i would update my rom. I forget what I was on, but I wanted to go to Illusion Rom. After I had a status 7 error which i fixed, it installed OK. When I booted up my phone it kept bootlooping through the HTC splash screen...
I have tried everything. I cant do the RUU cause there is not a specific RUU for my phone. The bootloader says
I cant do anything with it... Can anybody plz help? I really don't wanna have to throw it away..

you can still fix that. here's the link of avail Ruu's. I had the same problem, I used this Ruu, but remember to around as well. but this worked for me. HTH!

Shouldn't the RUU match with the hboot and radio version?

OK so I tried that. It gave me an error 132 (i believe it was 132) Signature error, so the RUU was not compatible with the phone.. Now it's stuck on a black screen with silver htc letters. I think i can hard reboot it?
Did you flash boot.img via fastboot? That looks to me like a kernel issue.
Also, there r other solutions - I presume you have root, download a rom to PC, push a rom to sd card via adb push command, dark jelly rom for example (it has s-on kernel instaler via aroma), go to recovery and flash that .zip.
Or can use adb sideload to install rom, if using twrp recovery.
OFC, don't use 4.2.2 or 4.3 roms, your hboot has to be updated to 2.15 first.

did you try superciding? not sure if you can supercid on hboot 1.09 but I just did it on my 1.06
What carrier are you on. RUU needs to match with hboot AND carrier.
You can run any ruu for your cid with same or higher hboot....

Yep - Start your phone in fastboot mode and flash the extracted boot.img from your rom.zip with 'fastboot flash boot boot.img' from windows terminal. Also you should flash TWRP 2.3.3.0 and reflash the whole rom.zip. It should be ok then.
To flash an RUU you will have to reflash stock recovery (!) and (possibly) have relocked your phone...
Your RUU file needs to match your CID (provider) and its bootloader version needs to be equal or higher to your actual bootloader version. What is your actual CID?

You'll need to change your CID or find an RUU for TMO NL. Check here and here for it and ask Google. I didn't find one on the fly...
So this is my situation,
after using MaximusHD 10.0.0, I would like to go back to my stock rom. The problem is that I lost my nandroid back-up because of flashing another update version of twrp. I'm a little bit new to all this android flashing stuff, so I was wondering if anybody could help me?
I was planning of using a guild for this, which i can't post because i'm a new user, who says just to relock bootloader and use a RUU. But instead of using the T-mobile version, I wanted to use a RUU file for Europe.
Before I was going to start with this, I wanted to make a nandroid back-up, but CWM can't mount my SD-card.
So, how do I start going back to the stock rom from MaximusHD 10.0.0 on my HTC One S C4?
Ask for more info if needed!
[Update]: I found a solution for my can't mount SD Problem. So can somebody help me finding a right RUU? (I live in Belgium)
Try to flash TWRP, then you can backup.
And then flash an RUU

So, do I need to first Relock my bootloader before I run the RUU? Or is it not needed because I'm S-OFF?
im also S-Off and on Hboot 2.16, now to get back to 2.15 is this the right way ?
flash my backup of stock 3.16 Jelly Bean in TWRP
relock the bootloader
Flash 3.16 RUU.exe
Thanks
So, last little question!
What happens if the RUU gives an error?
Does your ROM is still the way it was before if you cancel the RUU after error?
Or is your ROM deleted?

Nothing happens, the installer stops and you are still the same as you were. So it doesn't hurt to try them.

It's really easy, you just have to reflash the modded version of TWRP for MaximusHD 10.0.0. All the other versions of TWRP or cwm won't work.

Yes, that's the one! But take the file shipped with MaximusHD 10.0.0 because it's a modded version, and not the normal one of 2.6.1

Yes I know its modded version , I tried to push it but it cant be done, Since I have CWM recovery, i cant put this TWRP one from maximus, it says failed: remote not allowed. I think it is because I relocked my bootloader, If I have to unlock it again, i wont be able to do it since cant use sd properly, so its doomed circle i think, need really big help guys . thanks in advance !
This is what i did.
1.oem relock
2. install org RUU, i downloaded one of the exe's and just let it do it's thing.
3. done.
4. rooted
5. flashed twrp
Okay,
So I just want to be sure about this.
Are these the ONLY steps I have to take?
1) Put device in Fastboot USB
2) Run RUU -> in this case http://www.androidruu.com/getdownload.php?file=Ville/RUU_Ville_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.16.401.8_Radio_1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L_release_301814_signed_2_4.exe
3) I have my old phone back with stock rom.

Relock the phone first, i don't know why, but i read on the forums that you have too when returning to stock.
1. in cmd "fastboot oem lock" phone now says "relocked"
2. from fastboot run RUU exe and wait.
3. done
In my case the RUU flashed me back to hboot 1.13, so install all updates from htc, then it updated to hboot 2.15.
So now you need to re-unlock the phone, and flash a new recovery.
If you want CM11 hboot 2.15 you need to flash modded recovery from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528113
If you don't CM11 flash will fail.
Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427&highlight=tutorial and follow STEP 1.
That should re-unlock the phone.
STEP 2 flashes new recovery. Skip STEP 3.
After recovery has been flashed, boot into recovery, then press "reboot" and reboot to bootloader, if you flashed twrp it will ask to install superSU.
Now you are ready to flash anything again.
Is it necessary to re unlock?
Because i'm not planning on changing rom soon.
Thanks for the help!
You don't need to flash new rom, if you want to stay on stock you can, stock will still boot fine afterwards.

Better would be S-Off, but yes, you should be able to flash a rom with this.
But don't forget to flash boot.img from your rom with fastboot, every time you flash a new rom.

Thanks, but I can't find any rom for my region, icm:HTC_J15. Could you give me a link to download a rom for my region ?
Don't mix it with official updates from HTC!
A (custom) rom is made not by HTC, this you can use.
A update by HTC don't have a rom.zip inside.
A RUU has a rom inside, but this is cid related.
So better clarify, what you are searching or what you want to do!

Thank you very much,
Can I make my phone S-Off before flashing this rom ?
Or firstly I should flash this rom and then try to make S-Off ?
If yes, which method ? facepalm or moonshine ?
I Apologize, This was my last Q today ?
Bye.
Your phone must have android running, then you can try rumrunner.us
Facepalm or moonshine are for previous software versions.
But as it seems, the side is down at the moment.

Hi,
I used rumrunner.us and now my device is S-OFF. Therefore I must be able to flash other roms after changing my cid and hboot version. Is it right ?
And another question is,
I've flashed Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip and superuser.apk has been installed but those programs that want to get root access, can't do this like Root Explorer, and in RootValidator as you can see in the picture below, shows "Root was denied to this app!", and from ADB I can to get root access, but why programs don't have any root access ?
Thanks.

Depends on, if we are talking about official HTC roms/updates or custom roms. For custom roms you usually don't need to change CID.

You should use SuperSu, because i'm not sure that Superuser is still in development (especially for newer Android versions).
Grab the zip file here and flash in recovery (should also remove Superuser you have already flashed).
