[Q] Power down with 15% battery left - Asus Transformer TF700

Hello my device keeps power down at 15% battery life, I have read that you can calibrate your battery, however because of circumstances It is not possible to flash my device. Are there anything else I could do or must I have my battery replaced by asus?

I just had a warning that my battery is at 15% with out shutting down. Something is wrong on your setting or your app that you are using. My device will not shut down unless it is 0%.. I just want to give you the information on my device and don't have any fix for your device.. Good luck..

Others who had similar problems let the tablet rest with a drained battery for some hours, then recharged, and it somehow recalibrated the battery estimations.

Well the problem is that i cannot drain the battery since it shuts down at 15% and wont let me turn it on again unless i charge it.

Hello again, apparently the fix only lasted for a few days because it shuts down again this time at 14%, so I still recive the low battery warning.

[Q] Mango messed up my Samsung Focus Battery?

Hey, I've had my Samsung Focus since launch, the battery used to be good for a whole day and a half, and I'm sure it would have lasted at least 6-8 hours of constant use. But since I installed Mango, it only survives 3 hours or less of constant use, depending on what I'm doing. It loses about 5% every 10 minutes of doing normal tasks. And this is without 3G (WiFi only since I'm not in the US right now). With 3G the battery would die almost just as quick when it was just in standby.
Did something go wrong with my Mango installation? Because this is the kind of performance I would expect while playing a game
Dude, its not the system draining your battery. Its that you need to calibrate your battery.
Let the battery totally run out. Recharge 50%. Use until it dies again. Recharge 100%.
This may correct it.
Letting a l-ion battery run completely dead is never a good idea, and it does nothing to improve its calibration.
So what should I do? I'm honestly desperate enough to try anything now lol. Well, without necessarily spending money lol

The phone turns off automatically before the battery is completely dead, so there's no risk.

So I decided to take your advice, and it's been on 1% for like over 20 minutes with Angry Birds running, and that's with battery saver off. It just finally died. I assume the fact that it spent 20 minutes on 1% means something good? Because usually it'll spend just 2 minutes on 1% lol
It means your battery is not calibrated (phone is reporting a wrong charge)

I did this last night, it made the battery quite a bit better (maybe 50% better), but I don't think it's as good as it used to be. Should I try again?

Yes, l-ion batteries are smart. They need to be trained. If it knows it's going to get a charge the same time every day, it will adjust itself to last till then or so that's how I see it.

Wait what? That's not how they work! This is a good article on Li-ion battery.
Battery calibration is useful when your phone reports a wrong battery charge.
You are entirely wrong, RoboDad. Without a firmware update (which I hear Samsung will be offering for Mango to correctly report the battery) draining the battery is the only way to correctly have the phone report battery correctly.

[Q] Calibrating battery

I'm trying to calibrate my NS (i9020T) because it seems like battery drains quite fast after frequent flashing ROMs. Last time I calibrated was about 4 months ago.
But the problem is that it won't charge beyond 99%. It used to charge up to 100% before if I leave the screen on.
But don't I need to get battery % to 100% (that's what calibration app says)..?
How can I get it back to 100% charge?
Thanks!

Not sure if it works ffor ns, but drain your battery, go to data/system and delete batterystat or something along those lines and reboot. Let it charge for awhile and it should go to 100% . If it works you don't need to calibrate anymore as that's how normal apps calibrate.

drain your battery, delete the batterystats.bin, reboot, then charge all the way. chances are is that you had to wait a bit longer for it to hit 100%. when i charge my phone to 100, sometimes it takes an hour to go from 99 to 100%. be patient, if that 1% is worth it. the more you play with your phone between 99 and 100%, the longer it will take.

I waited 5 hours but it was still at 99%. I had to leave home so I couldn't charge any longer...
So drain it first, delete batterystats.bin, and it should charge to 100%? Because the app I downloaded says, charge it to 100% then delete batterystats.bin.. etc.

you must had something running in the background. believe me, the different between 99 and 100 is almost non-existant
The last 10-20% trickles in. 5hours is way too long though. What does your voltz read bc you can have a full charge as far as voltz go but may be getting a faulty % reading on the charge.
If you use the apk make sure you don't power off or you will regenerate the battstat through normal process and then the app is pointless. Try charging overnight and see if you can get to 100%.
Fyi/beware draining your battery to 0 is not good. Some batteries and phones have a hard time getting through first boot when there is little to no charge in the battery. Whenever I use the calibration apk, I never go below 10%. Anything below that can cause some funk.
I drained it all the way and deleted batterystats.bin, charged it all the way back overnight, but it doesn't go over 99% for many hours. I stopped all the services I could possible (kept only the essentials)...
Current Charge: 99%
Voltage: 4.176 mV
Temperature: 33.0c

So it's simply misinterpretation of the battery that it doesn't read 100%?
Well, I started calibrating about an hour ago. I thought it shouldn't matter too much.

Yes your phone sometimes gets out of sync with its self and starts thinking that its fully charged or fully discharged when its not. The way I typically calibrate my battery is to turn it off and let it charge until it stops (this is easy to see since the screen lights up and the battery shown on the screen stops unfilling and refilling). I then unplug it and boot it up. Again, shut it down and plug it in and let it charge until it thinks its full. Again, turn it on this time letting it charge to what it thinks is full while on. Finally restart into CWM and use its too for wiping battery stats. After all that I also like to let it die before I plug it in again.

[Q] OPO dying after 40% battery charge

Hey folks
Lately my OPO started to have some hiccups with battery. So the problem is that once my battery percentage goes below 40% my OPO turns off. When I try to turn on the phone it never boots up. Any idea why its happening and solution will be greatly appreciated.
Note: I tried to have full charge cycle (going from 100% to zero)but it never worked. I tried charging phone while its tuned off and turn it on once its fully charged but it didn't work either.
Thanks
Sorry to tell you but your battery is likely physically malfunctioning and no amount of battery draining will fix it. Odds are, your battery has started bulging a little already.
Do you typically leave your OPO plugged into the wall charger for extended periods of time, even after it has reached 100%?
I damaged both my previous Note 1 and even a laptop batteries this way. Both would just shut off after dropping to a number like 50% or 55%. Both batteries had a bulge.

When did this first happen? What were you doing? Skype call? Hangouts video chat? Playing an intensive game?
Point being, was it super hot when it first shut down?

Hello,
Can you please elaborate issue?

More in depth description of the problem
I Purchased a NOTE EDGE Used about 2 weeks ago, I was told the problem was a generic battery causing the phone to overheat, I bought A New battery which somewhat solved the overheating problem however upon using the phone even with a new battery I noticed there still is significant battery drain in a short time. Also When the phone is completely off the battery still drains at a fast rate, If plugged in the battery doesn't die but charges extremely slowly even with a rapid charger and rapid charge activated. Another Issue that I have is when I remove the battery the phone will not turn back on once its back inside unless plugged in and when I connect by usb to the computer it shows connected on the phone and on the computer but in programs such as Odin it doesn't show up unless I remove and re install the battery multiple times I've done all I can think of to fix this ( bought a new battery, tried re flashing the firmware, Shut off all unused apps and turned off all data Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, dimmed the screen, battery saver etc.. ) the phone drains regardless even when phone is completely powered down.

sounds like a PCB having a problem. Maybe the charging circuit

N.m. just googled it
After I updated to 6.0.1 update on my note edge , once the battery reaches 49% it just turns off , it doesn't turn on , while I put it for recharge the battery charge shows 49% and it turns on.
I have done 3 factory resets still the problem arise. I did factory reset to clear cache and to clear any errors in apps. This is my primary phone for work and I need to carry power bank all the time. Please assist
Time to change the battery. It is not about the percentage of the battery. It is more about that the voltage breaking. As it seems the battery can not longer hold its voltage due to battery age. When the voltage breaks, the device will automatically shut down to due low voltage

From what I notice is something is wrong, mine started to act weird earlier after I updated a latest ota firmware, before when I charge its take only maybe less then a hr to full charge, I did a factory reset now its take two hr to full charge, now monitor again
My battery went to hell also after this update and I just got a new one a few months ago

the only solution i see is to stop buying original battery replacment since it might not be the issue , rather slap a zerolemon 9000 mah battery on , it looks like a tank but at least the battery last lol.
Im still having trouble with mines too, injust dont understand why phone is draining battery while off and fast . You ciuld feel the heat off the phone while off...

problem with battery or motheboard?

Guys, suddenly with 100% charge, the phone shuts off and restarts alone, and it's like bootloop, then I put it in charge and go. I noticed that while in bootloop, if I go in twrp I do not see the battery charge. I'll put him in charge and go. The ROM is not the problem. Another thing I noticed that sometimes when I do this problem and I charge it, I see the battery while it is charging, as when charging it off and it ranges from 1% to the% where it was actually knocking on second, or every second increases by one. Motherboard or battery problem?
the problem is not every day.
