Writting NFC tags using Android web browser - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hello,
I know that if you launch a web browser and there is, for example, a button to write a NFC tag on that web page that Android can do it but I cannot find the specs or details about it...
Would anyone here happen to know?
Thanks

Something Useful for Opera Mobile Users

Opera/Opera Mobile lets you add extra engines (and search types) to the search bar in the browser. I've added quite a few useful ones that other users might find helpful to the file here: http://pastebin.com/LCjLs2Rs
Directions on how to use it are in the file.
NOTE: You will need opera on the desktop as well until adding searches directly to the phone is fixed. See the note at the end of this post on a workaround for it currently needed until opera or one of us fixes it.
Searches currently added (besides default):
Google/youtube video search (high quality videos only)
Google images (default/2MP/6MP)
Google lucky search (type a term, takes you to the site if it has a match)
Google maps (may not be as useful on the phone obviously)
Google news
Google finance
abbreviation lookup
linux man page search
stack exchange search
hacker news search (http://news.ycombinator.com/)
webster dictionary lookup
php.net function search
duck duck go search engine
ohnorobot comic search
wikiquote search
...more to come whenever
Currently trying to manually add searches on the phone by adding search.ini to /data/data/.com.opera.browser/opera/search.ini in the same format as the desktop version currently does not work. You can hack around that by just using opera link to sync to the desktop version though after adding them there.
Another useful feature if you use both opera desktop and mobile:
https://addons.opera.com/addons/extensions/details/opera-to-phone/1.3.4/
Lets you send links to your phone using opera + chrome to phone app

Is there such an app?

Hello everybody! I was hoping someone could help me find an app that is a local web server for asp files that I can view on the tablet's browser for testing.(I need this for college)
I've snooped around on Google and found absolutely nothing of this sort; perhaps I am just not searching right.

[Q] Capable of Annotating large PDFs?

I've purchased a Note 10.1 recently but haven't actually opened the box. I first need to know whether the Note is capable of opening 1000 page PDFs with Repligo/iAnnotate/EzPDF etc and annotating them without lag, or is this far too much to ask from the Note? Would an Atom tablet be more capable of this? I wish to use the tablet for reading while on public transport and simply highlighting and writing quick notes in the PDF, and then when I get home, reading through the edited document and making my actual notes in OneNote. I've watched videos of other people annotating documents on other tablets, but I'd like to be certain with the tablet and whether it can handle such large files.
ALSO: Is it possible to open the OneNote web (not mobile) application via an android browser (accessed via SkyDrive). I merely want to view my notes through the web app, but not edit them.
Thanks.

Congrats on the new purchase.
Essentially all android tablets are the same from a sofware stand point.
Yes you can easily edit pdf's that are huge that come into many 1000 pages. I use ezpdf now as it seem to offer what i need. But as you said you have to test out yourself and see what suits you the best.
You cannot open onenote in android browser. All you can do is see the files. I tried the default, chrome and dolphin browsers and none of them seem to open one note files.
It might just be easier to use the android app

Great! Thank you for the reply. If the worst comes to worst, I'll just have to export all my OneNote files each week for uni...

there is an app called mobilenoter in the market. Worth a shot for taking notes.
The editing options are very limited but may be good enough for basic note taking.
Two things ...
1st. For your Purpose Mantano Reader Is Best !!! Am using it since a long period of time.
2nd. OneNote is available in Playstore.

[Q] NFC and QR Facebook checkin

Hello out there,
if you look at those "Ways To Use NFC Tags" guides on the Web they often say that you could use NFC Tags for Facebook checkins. But I could not find a guide how that should work. I know that in the "Trigger" App there is a Facebook places option but thats not the way I want it, because it should be compatible with all devices. Iam looking for a way to checkin by URL, printed as QR and written to a NFC Tag.
So thats how far I've come:
With the old mobile Facebook version (m.facebook.com) you can create checkin links like this one for example
-- https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=200553029958653&v=checkin --
This link opens correctly in my PCs Firefox Browser and I can leave a comment and hit Checkin. On my Android devices (htc evo 3D and htc one) it does not open the old mobile version but the newer touch version (touch.facebook.com) with a simpler version of the timeline (without the header) and no checkin option. Funny: the URL in the addressbar says m.facebook.com but its the interface and design of touch.facebook.com.
Does anybody know a working checkin URL for mobile devices? I dont need to open the native facebook app because I want it to be compatible with all devices.
Sorry if this was asked somewhere before. I could not find such a thread via the search.
Greetings, David

How do I determine if Kiwi Browser has been installed on my phone

Greetings. I developing workflow steps in an app called Pipedream. I installed Kiwi Browser on my Samsung Active s9 phone, and it works great when I entered my webpage. I would like to implement this into my workflow to display the html page on my phone.
Since these workflows can occur on both my laptop and my phone, the first step is to determine if Kiwi Browser has, in fact, been installed on my phone. If I get false, then I know that should display the html page on regular Chrome.
Question 1. How do I determine if Kiwi Browser is installed? I'm using Javascript or Node.js to for writing a callback function to return the status.
Question 2. If Kiwi Browser is installed, how to I send the url with the html page I want to display?
Thanks, Scott.
