CWM only option is optimus 2x

Hey guys, when i try to install recovery the only device option that comes out is 'optimus 2x'. Whenever I try install this it bricks my phone and I have to reflash the kdz file. In the beginning before i flashed gingerbread, the 'optimus 3d' option was available, but now only the 2x is offered. Anyone have experience/solutions to this? Really want to flash thiazrom
It's a bug in the ROM Manager. Use 4.8.0.7 or the newest 5.0.0.6 that should work too (at least it did for me)
Use old version of Rom Manager

Go into download mode by holding Vol+ Button and connecting to the PC. When you have sound on you should hear that windows sound when plugging in a new device. Then release the button, the screen of the phone will stay black. Windows should discover a new device and install drivers (needs the LG Drivers)
Then you can use the emergency mode from the LG Mobile Support Tool to reflash with official Firmware.
That's what I did. The LG Tool installed V21A (because I have a european device), so I was able to root again.
I don't know what kind of device you have, but before flashing the official Firmware you should know what the latest version would be or you could lose the ability to root.
Thanks, on older version of cwm work flawlessly
And I can assure you Orlox, that the Zwoggel's method works, becouse i had the same situation. Thanks guys

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236
pretty much flash a new kdz file and it should be unbricked.
I ended up flashing an older version of cwm, 5.x.x or something, u can find this option at the bottom of the cwm menu

The problems is, i cant do anything with the phone, feels like its brick, the only thing i can go is to "CWM", nothing else, so im tryin to connect my phone to the computer so it can find it and flash the phone with LGFlashTool
Unfortunately, "CWM" Only Samsung phones that are root is applicable, not applicable LG phones!!
Apart from installing flash the boot loader ROM,can update ROM your phone by the program "KDZ" to "B2CAppSetup" applications.
good luck...

LG VS840 Help!!

Got a bit of a problem.... I flashed a ROM onto my phone (forgot to back up, that's my big issue) It said it flashed just fine. Went to start up, just ran the lg logo for about 30 mins. Decided to try re-flashing it. Made sure to wipe everything. Nothing, still have the same issue. Tried to get back into CWM, but its gone now. Tried doing emergency download software, now its stuck on the screen "Download is in progress, do not disconnect cable." Im stuck. I dont know what else to do. I've tried the LG Support Tool, but it says to use Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant, which I can't get because I can't find a download for it and I cant get it from my phone.
I have the stock ROM image, but I have no clue how to install it without CWM or something. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I needs my phone...

they said to use Upgrade Assistant that means you never told them about the truth: phone is not booting....big mistake or let me understand that:Upgrade Assistant works when your phone is in download mode ?!
what is that rom you tried to flash surely was for your phone ?
also you have stock rom this is a .zip file or what format?
can you enter fastboot mode ?

Um... Let's see... The LG Support Tool which in most cases you can use to return your phone to stock comes up with a message saying "Upgrade tool is preinstalled in your phone. Please allow to install "Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant" when the phone is being connected to the PC". That's what the tool tells me.
The ROM I tried to flash was BrokenOutConnect v1.0. Its for the LG Connect, which is almost the same phone, and some one said it would be ok to flash it.
The stock ROM is in an .img file, so I need to figure out how to install from that
And I have no idea how to enter fast boot (unless your referring to the vol up+down + pwr, in which case, that doesn't work.
Sorry, can't post the original page for the ROM, I'm too new lol

Try flash by lg flash tool
if you lose you IMEI .....
Restoring IMEI
1.Connect phone by USB
2.Activate USB debug mode
3.Enter 3845#*920# in dialer if that doesn’t work try 3845#*925# or 3845#*720# if device is SU760
4.Select Port Settings -> Select CP USB
5.A new device should appear at let it install
6.Open Tutty and select serial protocol. Click on open
7.Type AT if response is not OK, change port number (it is possible that when typing you don’t see any letters)
8.Type at%imei, it should display a dummy IMEI
9.Type at%imei=x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x where x,x,x... is your orginal IMEI number (found under the battery of your phone). It should response IMEI WRITE OK
10. change Port Settings ->form CP USB TO AP USB
11. reboot your device

soon, am sorry but am kinda busy. i will list every thing i did!
How did I DID IT!
well at first the lg mobile support tool couldnt recognize my phone, may be because i live in 'unknown' country. so i manually downloaded every driver known to be made for this phone and installed them. when i opened the tool again it recognized it and told me i have to update the drivers i did. so i had the latest drivers for the phone. i downloaded the 'offline installer download' link from the xda link i posted earlier and downloaded v30b from the link i got from MasterTobi. i ticked USB Debugging and connected to pc, then i started the vbs script it did all the modifications i needed then i followed the instruction then viola! android upgraded. i was shocked when the phone lit up on 90% but completed with no errors. Check This
Hi all first i had GB 2.3 prometheus running but apps on my SU760 were not working well probably because prometheus is P920 port.
So i used LG smart flash tool and flashed froyo 2.2 V10 and then upgraded to 2.3.5 GB using LG support tool all is good until now.
Wait !!!!!
-------------
So now i try to upgrade to ICS using LG support tool my phone is detected by the tool but all of a sudden i get a pop up phone not connected properly, so i run LG support tool as SP3 and run as administrator, still no luck !!!
I then extracted V30b KDZ which is ICS 4.0.4 to bin and fls and used LG smart flash tool to flash directly with ICS but the download mode keeps on dropping out hence i cannot flash the SU760 all the wat to 100% with ICS.
I have now been trying to get ICS on my phone for last 48 hours but no luck.
My Question is:-
1) Is it really worth upgrading SU760 to ICS because i had ICS earlier this year and my phone started to crawl and really slow.
2)Is there a way to get ICS on my phone apart from LG support tool and LG smart flasher and offline flashing is not working for me.
3)Even if i do manage to get ICS then is the ICS rom 4.0.4 by xbsall http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963847 ported from experia fast enough on SU760 ?
Thanks in advance,
Suhail

[Q] Bricked Nexus 5? :( Need your help guys

Hi everyone, ( Newbie here)
Pardon me if something similar has already been posted before. I have major issues with my Nexus 5 which gave up on me a day back.
THe phone wont boot up and is stuck at the google logo.
I went through a few troubleshooting steps with the google technicians. We tried recovering it but that didn't work either, nor a hard reset. I dont see the dead android show up after which i can wipe the entire data and do a factory reset.
The USB Debugging feature on my phone was switched off so now if i try to unlock the bootloader using adb i can't. It says erasing but does nothing. I waited for about 25min and gave up on that.
I downloaded the stock android OS from the google website and also have adb and all the drivers installed.
Is there anyway i can get this thing up and running again? Anything at all?
Please help
fastbooting
Well the only thing I can come up with is to boot your phone into fastboot. First turn off your phone then press the power+volume down or power+volup+voldwn and then there should be a screen with an android laying on its back. If you can get that far well continue but if you can't then you can send in your phone
Sounds like you're trying to use adb commands when you should be using fastboot commands

I tried doing that but the recovery mode wont work. I only see a blank screen when i try to get into recovery mode. I dont care about my data anymore. I just hope for the phone to come back alive. How i wish the usb debugging was on
Usb debugging is irrelevant when the phone is off. If you hard power the phone off by holding power button for like 10 secs, try holding just volume down while powering up

It could not void your warranty. This is how LG would reflash your phone. You will find lg flashtool, dll for D820 and the firmware for D820 32Gb in my lg flashtool thread. You have to use the converted firmware. Dont worry about that it is converted. It was tested by numerous people and never got any negative response.

Yes, but you dont have to figure out anything . I have already figured out and made a thread about it. Just check my signature about LG flashtool. You will find the guide there.

What's the worst case scenario here?
Will Google still replace it for me?

Worst case scenario is that LG flashtool will stop with Erase command failed error. Google will replace your phone does not matter what happen.

I don't see a reason why i shouldn't try it then . Once i am done with all this i will have to install Android 4.4 on top of it right?

You dont have to install anything to your phone. If lg flashtool will be successful then your phone will be like that when you first turned it on.

The converted one says USE AT OWN RISK . Why so ? I will have to download the 32GB one right? One more question.. what are TOT's ? or TOT file? And there are 2 files inside the 32 GB one.. Which one should i download? The first or the 2nd?
THanks

I should remove the use at your own risk message since it have been confirmed that they dont do any trouble. Tot is the file format of the LG's firmware file format.
