Anybody know a way to disable the Notification sound while charging?
At night I use the wireless charger, during the night it charges and by morning it loses a little charge and begins to recharge, when that happens it makes a notification sound. (which usually wakes me up)
one solution I found was to disable sound but then I might miss an important text/call, don't really want to do that.
I don't like being woken up by the beep either though.
Anybody know of a good solution to this? (besides turning off sound or not using the wireless charger).

Just got an HTC ChaCha, and one of the (very few) things I'm missing about my old Nokia is the feature that automatically turned off vibration when it was plugged in, to stop it buzzing around the table. I might just be missing something obvious, but I can't seem to do the same on Android - any suggestions?

As far as I'm aware, there's no feature to automatically disable vibrate when it's plugged in. But it's really not an issue, you can disable vibrate manually. Or you could even download widgetsoid (from the market) and set a button to automatically do it for you
Twice now this has happened today:
Phone is on wireless charger for some time (over 30 min, less than 2 hrs)
Incoming call comes in
Phone vibrates but does not ring (I have calls set to do both), but otherwise looks/acts normal (wakes up, displays caller, etc.)
After the call is completed I put the phone back on the charger and place a test call to it. Both vibration and ringtone work as they should.
My only hypothesis thus far is that the phone doesn't ring the first time after the phone locks during charging, but this is probably not correct.
1. Has anyone else experienced this issue; and if so, how should I/we notify google if they haven't been already
2. Any ideas on how to fix this
FYI I have unlocked BL and root but otherwise stock.
This is happening also to me(and not only during the charging), i have set both of them(ring and vibrate),after a long period of inactivity it only vibrates, after this it works fine until it gets a long period of inactivity again..?
Is this a hardware issue?
There is a bunch of other posts about a problem with the speaker working intermittently. I have the same issue (unrelated to charging or not). I can check every ten minutes and half the time sound is working, the other half silence. Seems like a serious bug (or hardware fault?).

I tend to belive it's a software issue, else the speaker works just fine.
Discovered this morning that my alarm doesn't seem to work when charging. Could this be related at all?
It's not related to charging as I have got this multiple times without having the phone charging.
Also, I noticed that sometimes in some apps, sound doesn't work either.
I have the same issue, It doesn't seem to be related to charging for me as well. My phone will ring for one second and then vibrate from then on. I find that it works normal after rebooting for the first call and then after that it happens again for every call there on after. I am completely stock 5.0 btw
I'm just wondering because all my previous phones had a beep when connecting to a charger.
But there's no sound when I connect my Next 5 to a USB cable to charge.
I checked all my volumes. Media, Ringtone & notifications, and Alarms.
Is there any other setting I need to change?
Thanks!

its normal, thats how its supposed to be. there are custom roms that give you an option to enable a sound.

No beep thankfully. The screen does turn on though and if you have a widget displaying battery information that could be even more descriptive.
Some people are using Light Flow to customize the notification LED for battery charging purposes as well.
You could get an app called tasker which could set up a sound associated to charging the phone and other tasks as well. Tasker is a paid app, but there's also a free tasker app called condi but I don't know if that app can do it as well.
+1 on Tasker. I actually set up a Tasker profile to vibrate on power connect (including wireless power) so there was no annoying beep.
Purity rom has that setting...
I was hoping to have sound because I'm so used to hear the beep..!
Maybe I'll try the rom or something.
Thank you all!
I've found that the watch won't connect to Bluetooth while charging, hence no notifications. Is there any way to change this? I leave my phone in my office downstairs when I'm sleeping (I don't want to be bothered with a ringing and beeping phone while I'm sleeping) but I keep the charger next to my bed.
In the Samsung Gear app on your phone, under Settings > Notifications, do you have "Show only while wearing Gear" turned off?
For the life of me I cannot find a setting to fix this.
I use a wireless charger for my S8+. When its time to sleep, I activate Do Not Disturb with only starred contacts allowed to ring through or get message notifications. So when work calls me at 3am, the phone rings like normal but the screen stays black......making it about impossible to answer in time (when you are trying to get stirred enough to talk when you DO answer).
Anyone familiar with where I need to look? :silly:
