I am running an unofficial CM 10.1 ROM on my DHD and with 'slight' use I can probably get a full day out of the battery. Prior to the CM 10.1 ROM I was running a custom rooted ROM based on the final official android 2.3 ROM from HTC and I remember the battery lasting much longer (over 12-months ago). I won't be moving back to Gingerbread but want to improve my battery life and have seen good reports of the PolarCell batteries
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390392597069?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Has anyone replaced their stock battery with one of these? Any comments?
Andy
Would be interested in knowing this also. Dont suppose you took the plunge and bought one?
Hi guys
I would be interested too on this question, or another battery brand.
Only want that someone with experience tell us if possible which battery and what brand/model is the best nowadays to buy to our great Desire HD?
And if you can post the link where to buy and maybe some buyer reviews, would be wonderfully.
Because are too many "Fake" vendors nowadays.
But for some questions that I asked to other few members and one recognized developer, they said that one of best batteries are:
First - Oem
Second - Mugen
Third - Anker
....
That PolarCell I never heard do not know =S
Cheers
I guess dhd battery is a pain in the a** for everybody, I suggest you to go for sensation xe, evo 3d type batteries. There are plenty of ways to do it (with battery door or without) I was personally using without battery door because I was already using silicon cover for all phone. Btw you need to apply a small copper wire for external wireless antenna which is already built-in with your original battery door. Search for thread in this section you will find Evo3d battery thread. I have changed to HOX but still my wife is using my beloved DHD with 1950mah Mugen. Believe me it gives equal amount of satisfaction for this money. If you don't want to spend that amount, go for original Amaze 4g battery (which has the highest capacity when compare with evo 3d if I don't remember wrong) still you will be satisfied with battery life.
Please don't ask me, which rom am I using or how is battery life. It depends on people and how they are using.
I can give several examples, heavy usage with all the time 3g, bluetooth, mail sync, whatsapp, viber, browsing, auto brightness but no games and no wireless: it will handle 1.5 day.
or
Moderate usage, all the time mobile network on, a bit whatsapp, several regular calls, a bit browsing, no gaming and wireless off. My wife can easily manage for 2.5 days.
One more thing, if you will have 1950 mugen, your battery will stuck at %15, don't panic it will stay there for at least several hours (according to your usage ofc). Its some kind of a bug. I don't know if somebody found a solution.
I hope, my reply will enlighten you a bit Cheers!
Been using a Polarcell since october 2012 from the manufacturer CellePhone: (http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B004I227RK)
New, it lasts the same as the original for me, that means about 3 hours of screen on with about the 70% of the total battery time, automatic brightness but mainly outdoors, so I bet that the auto brightness is actually full brightness the most part of the time, using 3G and no "data sync demanding apps running in background" except whatsapp and the usual google services.
I use to charge the battery every night while I sleep and even though I'm aware that overcharging a long time is harmful I use to let it charge until I wake the next morning.
With this usage schema, I'm facing today a 20% loss approximately, because the battery skips from 80% to 100% when charging.
So is more than a year of usage, around 400 charge cycles, and for 10€ is a good investment for me.
Being from a german company inspires more confidence than chinese clones.
Hope this helps to all of you folks!
A friend of mine picked one up and he had nothing but good things to say. I'll update this post once he replies to my text for exact details!
Bought one a few days ago from http://www.ebay.de/usr/wannsee-electronic (Germany).
The one i bought is for HTC Sensation, sold as 1800 mAh. To fit in DHD i remove the "film" and im surprising to see that on the aluminiumcase of the accu is written 1700 mAh.
Contact the merchant today and wait for an answer. So I didn't know it depends on Polarcell or the reseller...
I just got one myself for Desire S, it is a 1600mAh battery. Been using it for 3 days and I'm quite satisfied with this product.. I also bought one Anker battery for Desire HD....
I can't really compare those cuz its on a different device and different ROM. But I feel that both are doing fine for now..... You can give it a try.
Btw, Anker battery comes with full package, it comes with a box and manual.... The polarcell that I received just comes with a battery with no box, nothing else..
Maybe I would suggest you to get Anker.
Don't forget to use Battery Monitor Widget to see if its actualy a good battery.
I got one today for my old DHD.After couple days of usage I'll post and my opinions.

I'm very satisfy from this battery. After couple charges for 12 hours each now my battery seems very stable. I'm running 30 hours and more with enabled 3g all the time.30-40 minutes calls including viber and 2 hours and a half display on.I think that this is a very gods result for this product.....cost 13€ .

Did anyone try the Andida 1750 mAh battery?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260789544214&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Ebay item number 260789544214
I did a search and found a thread in Evo 4G forum with neutral to positive feedback on batteries of the same brand so I figured I'd give it a try.
Ordered one today - will report back in 3-4 weeks when it arrives from Hong Kong
You have to modify it the same way you would with any of the other batteries. I bought that one along with the red chichitec so get yourself some sandpaper if you plan on buying it...
Unless that battery is for the Incredible S, then from what people are saying, it's a perfect fit. I would like to know if this is true cause if it is, I will be buying one.
The one I own is for the EVO and it's the 1800...
I ordered it for my Desire Z so I believe no modification is necessary - correct me if I'm wrong.
I just meant that I read some reviews/opinions on the same brand batteries but for another phone model

let us know how it fits!
I have been using the Andida battery 1750mAh for some months. My battery says it's for HTC Vision....and its working, nut not so much better than the original
/Bengt
I don't know, I'm just a little skeptical when it comes to Andida.
Back when I had the G1 (Dream), I had purchased a 1600mAh Andida, when I received it, I noticed there was a print out on the battery (under the label) that said 1100mAh.
Now, it's been a while since I've seen my G1 but if I'm not mistaken, the stock battery was 1150mAh. I know I was mad for some reason with the seller.
The battery did not perform any better than the stock battery did, but for $10, it was a nice spare. With the G1, YOU ALWAYS HAD TO HAVE A SPARE! Or at least I did.
I think I want to buy this battery, along with the 1800mAh Mugen Power battery and run my own comparison against the stock battery. The only problem is variances. I need to make it a controlled test.
When I do this, a thread will be posted with my conclusions...
The review (day one)
Ok, so yesterday I received my Andida battery bought off of Ebay (follow link in OP).
I can confirm that it is made to fit the HTC Vision and is similarly-specced according to label except for the 1750 mAh compared to 1300 on the original.
First off I weighed it and was not really surprised to see that it was in fact lighter than the original battery. My (really crappy, admiddedly) kitchen scale would shift between 25 and 30 grams with the Andida battery and show a steady 30 grams with the original.
I installed the Andida battery in my phone, switched it on and plugged it in at 9 PM. Took it off the charger at 7 AM and turned on 3G at once.
My use varies a lot - I can be anything from a very light user to extreme heavy. Today was one of the lighter days, I think.
When I first purchased the phone I had screen brightness set at 40% but after a while I got a little annoyed and decided that it just wasn't bright enough. So now I stubbornly have my phone set to automatic brightness.
During the day I had 3G on all the time from 7AM-4PM and then switched to wifi which was on until 9.15PM when I plugged the charger back in the phone. By then there was 17% battery left.
I have been chatting for some time on Gtalk - probably like 30 minutes total, sending and received a few text messages and email. Also I have played quite a bit of scrabble (Wordfeud) and a bit of Moonchaser.
In addition, Google Maps, Skype and Viber (beta) were updated today. Played around with the latter two to check out what was new.
On top of the above the usual fiddling around in menus and checking a number of times for official OTA GB (no luck) since I am not rooted.
Apps that have been running in the background at all times during the day include Lookout, ZD Box, Viber, Whatsapp, Andappstore, Clockr and probably a few more.
I probably won't be as thorough mapping my phone use over the weekend but will try to get a representative overview none the less.
Judging from this first day I would say that the Andida matches the original battery which makes it a very resonably-priced spare. We'll see what happens over the weekend.
Hope this is useful to someone out there
Review, the second day
Second day of use was a huge disappointment!
Took my DZ off the charger at 7AM and turned on 3G. It probably saw about similar use as yesterday. However, at 3PM it was down to 15%! WTF?
It must be noted that I suspect the new Skype version to be a huge battery hog. Even when logged out and the application closed it would still be running in the background. Killing the Skype task repeatedly resulted in the task starting up again immediately. Skype deleted...
Tomorrow I'll make my final judgement if this Andida battery is worth anything at all.
This app tells me the battery is 1300 mAh but today was a lot worse than the stock battery. I really hope it was Skype.
Anyway, at $10 it's still a cheap spare.
Day three:
Today was definitely better than yesterday. The ol' DZ has only seen light use, though.
Off charger around 8AM.
A couple text messages, checking Gmail a few times, browsing Facebook, browsing www on Dolphin HD, one short phone call, playing Moonchaser for 15 minutes, one game of Backgammon, filming a couple short videos and sending one of them (10MB) over Whatsapp and finally writing this.
Went under 30% just now, 10.15PM.
Probably just a tad worse from what I would expect from the stock battery.
Conclusion as of today is that this battery is a cheap replacement/spare but definitely not 1750mAh as advertised and Skype is a batteryhog.
Will report back if tomorrow offers any miracles and in the meanwhile comtemplate if a Mugen is worth spending the extra bucks on.

If you're like me and use your ChaCha all the time and can't help but notice it's incredibly poor lifetime. I have found a solution for you that does not require you to have a separate PowerBank.
Get this battery from Ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2430MAH-H...084?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e66923a44
And Use My CamDroid 1.5 (Lightweight ROM). Updates available regularly to flash.
Enjoy, I have already tested the 2430MAH Battery from Japan with my ROM and it works like a dream.
TechMayhem
Very slim for a 2430MAH. Quite weird
Yeah I know, it seemed quite weired to me aswell but then they continue to say on other sites that it's a new type Japanese energy compressing technology??
It sounds out of the mobile world but it worked for me - give it try if you need the extra power. Free Shipping to UK Only.
Negative feedback for this guy relates mainly to these extra capacity batteries and how they are either worse than standard or just 1250 ones with a sticker on them.
Good luck, but I'm not going to be first to try it!

qbert456 i can assure the battery worked for me - if it didn't i would have posted a link saying why not to buy it immediately - but i took my time to test it.
I also checked the negative reviews and none of them are for the ChaCha - there all for different HTC's and I also checked the Positives, the guys sells thousands of products and has received more good feedback for batteries then bad all together.
Don't worry about a few cases that are not even for this phone, it is an amazingly awesome and provides an outburst of battery life.
Have you tried CamDroid 1.5?? I got a PM by someone saying it was not too bad afterall.

I better have 2 batteries on me. Always one battery full in my wallet
couldn't you benchmark both batteries?
play a video loop on both and check the time it plays?
just to let us see how much improvement is there
this would be helping wouldn't it?
or jsut get circular battery indicator,
it shows, when it has been taken off the wall and what charge it had then./ how much is left.
this would be simply the best method without efforts i assume
My mate bought me this battery as I moaned up the pub about battery life.
As expected, based admittedly on only one day, its not as good as stock one so far, depleating at a quicker rate.
But this is by no means a long or scientific test!
Still for the money (free to me) can't complain, but 2340? Not likely it really is 2340 tbh , as expected.
Will report back with further use!

I ordered this battery and finally got it yesterday. Charged it up, and after 12+ hours of background syncing, a few phone calls and texts, and some browsing, battery life is still at 90%! So far, I'm very impressed, and I hope that I can extend the battery life even further with additional charging.
You sure its not the placebo effect??
Mine , ordered from same seller, is not much different!

You may be right. Less than one day's usage may not be too accurate. I'll give the new battery a month and report back my findings then!
How many days ?
how do you charge it? Isn't there any other way instead in phone. I want to use it as first battery and keep my original one in case this dies. Any suggestions?
what about the tests and findings? any updates on the battery's life?
I've ordered it and I'm waiting it. Will let you know when its here, and what the performance is.
i have just placed an order too... shall check back when it has arrived.
having said, it would be great if the dialer issue can be plugged. my phone seems to be quite afflicted by it.
as i know this battery need to have a 1st, 2nd & 3rd charge for 10hours for the battery to have good result. do not use external charger due to some external charger will stop charging once it's fully charged & just maintain at certain % like for 90% will charge again when it drop below that. not very sure cause i have yet try it xD
One seller on UK eBay has the Anker 1600mAh DZ battery for £7.39 inc postage. That is a bargain price by anyone's standard, so I thought I would give it a try.I was half assuming that it would be poor quality or a knockoff etc.
Had it for a week now. First 3 or 4 charges I was very careful to charge fully overnight and then let it run down to at below 15% before plugging it in again. Full charge/discharge cycles are good for battery calibration and the good for the battery itself (apparently?!)
I have been trying out lots of different ICS betas recently and they have been chewing through my battery pretty quick. Also my stock battery is the one that came supplied with my DZ over a year ago so it was a little tired.
I always charge overnight. On my tired stock battery I would just about get through the working day and would likely need to plug in around 7:00 if I wanted to use/tinker with my phone in the evening. With the Anker I am easily getting through to the evening without going near a power point. So can get all the usage I need on a single overnight charge - perfect!
What I cannot comment on is what performance I would get from a new stock battery. Obviously it might be just as good or even better but for this price these Ankers do a very good job.
I've just ordered two more and a second replacement backplate. Guess I'm coming to terms with the fact the HTC are not going to release a high build quality, high spec, qwerty slider in the near future So we better stock up on spares/consumables whilst they are abundant and cheap
I just started using an Anker battery last week and so far it's working quite well. I've heard that non-oem batteries can lose their capacities faster so I intend to do a rigorous retest a year later.
I'd avoid buying up batteries for use in the future though. Lithium Ion batteries age with time as well and will lose capacity even without use.
For now though, it does seem to come close to the claimed capacity which was nice. I did some tests that were more controlled than simply using it for a day:
Code:
ILWT 285
1.5GHz Performance
Airplane Mode
Minimum brightness
MX Player SW Fast
Stretch Mute
Battery discharged to 89% before recharging back to 100% waiting for the trickle recharge to stop before starting video and unplugging.
Device running until 15% warning which is dismissed and then run until device auto shuts off.

Hi,
I recently bought the Anker 1600 and let AnTuTu Battery Tester run trough and got a Score of 630. In the AnTuTu Score Statistics it seems to be very good...
I am on Andromadus Beta3 (ICS) @1200Mhz
Don´t know what is this in comparision to the stock battery - I didn´t let the test run trough, maybe later. My stock batt is already over 1 yr old and I charged it almost every day or every 2nd day - so I don´t know if the result would be comparable...
Anyone knows about AnTuTu results of the stock battery?

you should test it with the exact rom, got 466 with andromadus on a new installation 768mhz, can't exactly remember other settings.
I'm seriously thinking of getting a new battery.
Anker doesn't need sanding or an extended battery cover, right? can't understand why the OP needed to buy a new one
No it fits fine with the original cover and is quite cheap as well - bought it at Amazon for abour 13 EUR including shipping. I think 466 is not so bad but I feel that Andromadus rom needs a lot of juice too.
With the new Anker I´ve got more or less the same duration like on cm 7.1 stable with stock battery...
Just got my anker in, excited. It fit perfectly, was @ 67% when I put it in, going to charge it all the way up and see what kind of results I can get with this badboy.
I don't know why but I'm going to trickle charge down to 75 then back up, then down to 50 then back up then let it roll. Me just being stupid.

After a couple of recharges now I think the Anker is even getting better - but I am not getting more than 4hrs "screen on" @Andromadus. But for a 10EUR battery not bad.

Could you guys please post here (or msg me) the ebay item number or seller name, etc for this Anker battery?? As even as a highly experienced ebayer with an account now for 11 years old, i find battery buying a complete minefield ........ sooooo many fakes that ebay take no action about.

This is the one I bought yesterday:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220928813853
The seller gets good feedback from this and other forums and I'm pretty sure the batteries are genuine Anker. I believe it's the same seller as MaxWiz used as they were selling the same battery for £7.39 in February.
Can anyone please tell me how to get the best from a new battery? I hear different opinions on 'conditioning' batteries and do's and don'ts of charging/discharging.
Damn good service from the seller! Bought on the Sunday, dispatched on the Monday and arrived this morning. One working day as opposed to the advertised 5-7.
From the packaging, it looks genuine. The seller also uses Amazon marketplace which is probably why it came in Amazon packaging. Learned that 4-5 full charges and full discharges is the right way to treat a new battery so that's what I'll be doing.
I wouldn't fully discharge as its not good for it. Do a little more research, you'll find differing ways but the authorities on lithium ion batteries will tell you a full discharge is unhealthy

As you mention, I've seen a variety of methods, some quite elaborate. The manual that comes with the Anker battery says 4-5 full charges/discharges.

Thanks, I'll do that.
I made the mistake of not charging it for several hours before letting it discharge. I unplugged when it got to 100% and let it drain to 84% before I read that the first charge should be several hours. I've plugged it back on charge again and will leave it overnight before unplugging. Hope I haven't knackered the battery
I'd also like to buy a battery, but it seems that the eBay seller from the link posted by Chem23 does not ship to Romania.
D'you have any recommendations as to what should I order, that ships to continental Europe (and Romania)?
Just like to say I love this battery. I can easily get 12-13 hours of heavy, heavy use with it. The best I've gone with intermitted heavy use is 22 hours. That is definitely a far cry from the 8 hrs maybe I would get with the stock battery.

The same seller sells via Amazon as LaptopMateUK. It may be worth looking at Amazon and checking if he can ship to Romania. Good luck!
Just got one of these, looking good so far, been very disappointed with the stock batterys inability to cope with all my tinkering and screen on time, hoping this will be the answer or at least a competent spare to keep in my wallet....
Checked Amazon but shipping is pretty expensive to Romania, higher that the battery itself... I'll check a few local stores, maybe one'll have this battery for sale.
I didn't find any other stores online where they send to the Europe mainland, and since i don't have a creditcard, I'm not able to buy on amazon. Anyone has any ideas where to get it instead?
I've seen some Anker 2400mah batteries for the EVO 3d, but seeing how they're the same I would've thought there to be the same for a sensation but with a different back cover.
I can't find anything like that, if anyone can, please let me know.
Also, isn't there an official HTC extended battery like the hd2 one for the sensation?
Bump .... ... .. .
If i'm not mistaken there are many types of extended battery for the HTC sensation that do not need a bigger cover. First you have the popular Anker Batteries.. This is so far, to me, the best extended battery as it greatly improves the battery life of my sensation. What used to last me half a day with 3g on, now lasts me about 13-15 hours. Hope this helps.
Hey mate have you tired ebay? I got one for my sensation paid 10gbp and it last over 48 hours with listening to abit of music and texting and talking. its a perfect fit and it hasnt even got close to being warm.

I have the Anker, but it doesn't last me more than about 6-7 hours, and this is with it underclocked; granted I do use it a lot, but that's why I'm looking for a better one that's thicker than the oem batteries like anker.

I have looked on ebay, but I haven't seen batteries with higher mah's like 2400mah or more. I don't mind having to put on a thicker case, but there doesn't seem to find any for the sensation - there are more for the EVO 3D eventhough they use the same type of batteries.

Hi guys I need help to find a good solution for my sensation... actually with stock battery, display brightness set to 40%, CPU set to 1290 MHz and 3g connection on, I get only 4-5 hours of use... I need somethings that help me to reach at least 10 hours of intensive use without paying over 15-6 €… What you suggest? I'm thinking about:
1) http://www.ebay.it/itm/330715277447?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619#ht_2514wt_924
about this I read only negative feeds here on xda while on amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B005O8SA2S/ref=dp_db_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1) there are many positive reviews
2) http://www.amazon.co.uk/1900mAh-rec...XHC0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334234975&sr=8-1
I've read that this is produced by the same company of anker battery and that this has the same quality of any anker battery...
3) any anker battery pack with 1900 mah, but price is about 20 €...
what do you think about the first? The second should be better? I need to stay about 15 hours without charging (5 of intensive use and 10 of moderate use)... I also want to buy a separate charger for the second battery, but I'll take it from hong kong and delivery time is about 30-40 days...

The gold batteries are terrible, the saner and anker (chichitec too in US) are the best choices.

The gold one is crap - I bought it and it was only 1500mah - the seller is a scumbag too. When I sent proof it was nowhere near rated, he said he could refund me half, and then tried to negotiate from there claiming it is not his fault. He refused to edit his listing nor acknowledge others who had the same issue (see his feedback). I had to bully him into a refund by threatening negative feedback and a paypal dispute.
It seems there is only one option with a replaceable back cover, and it is Mugen $100~ and gives poor reception since there are no antennas on the cover.
You may want to investigate the powerskin, although I don't care for the inability to transfer data via usb while it is on, nor the shape. I do miss my EVO 3D + Extended battery.
Hello XDA Community, i'm a HTC Sensation owner and i got it from service 3 days ago (the phone had really frequent shutdowns and the battery only lasted like 2 hours even without using it). Altough it doesn't have those problems i experience a really weak battery... As you can see from the photos i only had a 9h and 20 minutes lifetime from 100%, with only 2 hours and 7 minutes Screen On... Today i played games around 1 hour, used the internet 5-10 minutes , talked for like 1 minute and sent 5 messages. Is it normal that a 1520 mAh battery drains so fast?
I had the same problem when I first got my Sensation. Mine was used, so the battery was already a year old, but the phone was mint. I had the same terrible drain as you have, and I hardly used mine during the day. I rooted it and tried a few ROM's, and found that so far, anything based on Bruce's CM10 gives the best battery life. Will defiantly be try the Viper ROM today though.
If you don't want to root, I would pick up one of these:

I'm going to be trying one out myself.

I bought mine used too, it was used for 8 months, ill try to purchase an anker then... Thanks!
Hi I had same issue, tried Anker it was a good battery but I still needed more juice . I went to Mugen 3800mah battery. Now with HEAVY use I get more than 24 hours use out of one charge! I can't stress enough what a difference this battery has made for me! Yes it is expensive but for me it was worth every cent! I am a heavy user of my device and rely on it for everything from navigation to internet to gaming. This is a serious battery , it solved all my battery drain issues ! One thing through, it does make you're device a bit thicker but it still fits in pocket and feels good in my hand. For me, battery life is what I'm after so I don't at all mind the thicker phone I'm not in a beauty contest, I wanted results! This battery delivers. If your a moderate user you might not need so much juice but if you're a heavy user like I am this battery is the answer! It will not disappoint! If you find Anker is not providing enough juice and want more time on battery, do consider Mugen 3800mah. You won't worry about running out of battery Again! This battery with HEAVY use will still be on 100% two hours later!! My biggest issue was battery drain and this battery solved that problem for me. Like I mentioned its not for everyone because it will make device thicker but if you're serious about battery life it's the way to go! So depending on your use this might be an other option for you. If you use your device heavily, I highly recommend this battery. Best wishes to you!

Thanks for the tip... I'm not such a heavy user of my phone but atm its still unbealiveable short on it's life. If i would take it out of the charger at 100% and play 1 and a half hour it will get to 1%...
Have you gave Anker a try? Most people here really like Anker and its given great extended battery. It's very affordable and I think it would be a wonderful solution to your issue.battery will make a big difference. You will see. My stock battery was absolutely pathetic. After I switched it was like night And day a huge difference! I believe Anker is only about 10 to 15 dollars and you won't regret switching. This is one solution to your issue. Best wishes. You can also try changing kernels and see if that helps but I think a Anker battery will really help in your situation.

Just thought I'd put my two cents in...
Whilst a higher capacity battery will help to some extent, IMHO it's like buying a bigger hose instead of fixing the hole in the bucket.
To clarify, I do actually own an Anker 1900mAh battery as well as the stock battery, but only because it was cheap and I was interested to see how much difference it made. I switch between the two on a regular basis. I can't deny the Anker certainly has a better cycle length than stock, but as I was already achieving well in excess of a full day's use on stock battery the benefit to me was negligible.
Another clarification, I'm not one of those people who will refuse to use their phone all day and then crow about their "amazing" battery life. You buy a smartphone because you want to use it. Mine is a work phone and as such is well used every day, making/receiving calls and texts, camera shots, VPN access etc. Then there's my personal use, web browsing, eBay, bluetooth audio every time I get in the car or work truck, e-books, games and so on. Not to labour the point but the phone comes off the charger at 6 am every work day and always has some life left when it goes back on the charger at 10 or 11 pm.
I guess, partly because of what I do for a job, I'm not a fan of "bigger hammer" solutions. There is a wealth of information here on XDA and you can greatly increase your battery life and cost you nothing but a bit of time spent reading. For a start I'd suggest looking into Battery Monitor Widget and/or Better Battery Stats (this thread).
I don't know if you're rooted or not, there are huge gains to be made with rooting and the possibilities that come with that. However, my wife's completely stock One S had absolutely atrocious battery life out of the box, and of course no possibility of increasing battery capacity, but with a few tweaks and better understanding she can still get a day's use out of her phone.
Sorry for the lengthy reply, but I see a lot of "get a bigger battery" responses to these questions when there are other options you can explore
