[Q] productivity screen. SMS not working anymore? - HTC One S

Hey,
As mentioned. In my productivity lock screen the message feature for my sms stopped working since the last time I changed the background picture. I changed it since then several times but it doesn't help...
Any ideas?
I'm on stock rom with sense 4+ and android 4.1
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers

I guess you either have to clear the cache of the sms app or the cache of any lockscreen-related app. Take a look in the app list and clear the cache of what seems the most related to the lockscreen.

Cache cleaning didn't work...

What do you get exactly in the lockscreen? No sms or nothing at all (email,. lost calls, etc)?

No just the SMS. Mail, weather etc everything works...

You probably did this but, have you checked the productivity lockscreen options? There you can choose what must be displayed, sms included.

Yeah that's the reason I'm writing. It just stopped working even though checked in the option list. Don't know what it could be

There is also an option in the sms app options. I just noticed this. It should be on by default, though.

Thank you!!! That was it

Double notifications

Every time I receive a text message I get two notifications in the bar. It is becoming very annoying and I can't seem to find the settings or app that's causing it. Any suggestions?

Are you using a custom rom? Are you rooted? Are you using a third party messaging application?

Was this occurring before on stock or on a previous rom? Did you do a full wipe when switching to CM7rc1? Did you restore apps?
If you answer No, No, Yes to those questions then here is what you need to do: Full wipe, reinstall the rom do not restore apps through titanium backup or any other third party backup app.
This wasn't occurring until the last few nightlies. I don't use titanium to back my apps up. They resync when I enter my email address. Ill give your suggestion a try

That did the trick! Thank you so much!

[Q][Sense 4.1] E-Mails on lockscreen?

I just wondered if there's any possibility to make mails showing up on the (default) lockscreen like SMS. Any ideas?

Have you tried the "Productivity" lockscreen in Personalization?
Yeah I tried it, but it is buggy with the Holo Light skin so I want to use the Wallpaper-Lockscreen (the first one, I'm not sure how it's called in English)

what rom are you using?

Stock unrooted.
To clarify what I mean with buggy: On this skin, the cards in the productivity lockscreen don't have any background, so you can't read anything when you have more than one card, because there's one text lying directly over another.
That sounds absurd, reset factory settings and try again.
It's a problem caused by this specific skin, other users have it as well. Other skins work fine btw. Sadly, I don't know how to change parts of a skin :/

By sub I mean an option inside a main option in settings... I know if you go to the message app like your going to send a text and hit the menu it will also bring up message settings too... It has been a long time since I've been on sense but I'm sure I saw that option somewhere.. Sorry for being so vague...

No worries.
Yeah looks like the only setting is to show message on lock screen, but nothing to actually turn screen on when it arrives. I really only want this because I always have my phone on silent. When playing Xbox with headphones I miss everything but I guess that's a good thing lol.
Anyways thanks for the help

I don't ever remember hearing about that option built into a rom--
But, as Google is your proverbial friend--maybe this--it is for text messages, maybe something else available for more notifications--

I use this app, simple and does exactly what it says it does. Turns on your screen when you get a text, nothing more nothing less.
I bought the pro version, there is also a free version that does the same thing.
There used to be an stock option in sense, I'm not sure what version they took it out in.

You can also do it with Tasker (and a lot more).

Voicemail notification

Hello. I have this big question. It's burning my insides. My voicemail notification keeps telling me I have a voicemail. Yet I call and it tells me there is none. At all, and Its making me mad as hell. And yes I trolled the hell out of the internet to find a solution... only found a temporary one which is clear the phone app data. Which the notification reappears reappears after a random reboot. So I come to you with my problem, asking you how the funk do I fix this shizzle.

Try leaving yourself a voicemail from another phone, then listening to it.
Also, in dialer, press menu button to go to settings then set back your voicemail number to your number. That can also help.
Voicemail notification (icon) is carrier related/supported. Call your carrier to check/complain.
Manage application /all/phone, clear data & cache.

8sms Alternative Messaging App

For anyone using Omar's or JellyAOSP and wants a fairly AOSP sms app with working mms, try 8sms! It looks much better than stock sms, and has quick reply pop-ups.

Thank you.
I am using it now on stock ROM. It works really good but not correctly in stand-alone mode.
Yea, stand alone doesn't work for me either. Hopefully it's fixed soon.

This is a nice app! You can use mmsdependencies from omar or mercurio and get this as a standalone... kinda
This is exactly what I was after, thanks. It's a bit annoying having two messaging apps but the AOSP app is loads nicer than the moto one.

Just keep the mmsdependencies.apk and place 8sms. You still need to enable standalone mode, though, otherwise it wont save your mesages

instead of 8sms you can use textra (seems a little bit leaner than 8smms).
