[Q] my device always restart him self.. help

hi i have nexus s almost 6 months even more.. and from then untill now i have same problem i try 1000 roms cm7 and now superaosp
and diffrants kernals and i still have some problem his restart him self and all the buttens are on but screen not turnning on i need to remove bettary and insert it back to fix the problem..
i really need help i'm sorry for my bad english

there is some appliction that write when device is overloded or out of memory...
cuz i use setcpu and battery indicator

Do you also experience crashes when using the Stock 2.3.4 ROM?
If so, you should clean your device and relock your bootloader and send it in for warranty.

Indeed even with 2.3.4 its heppend
btw where can i find a guide for relock my bootloader..
change to stock its no problem but how i relock it..
and i live in israel and i got the nexus s from england
i have to send it to there for warranty?

You relock the bootloader the same way you unlock it.

I'd recommend doing a lock, unlocking it and locking it again making it delete all user data on the phone.
If you have to send it in really depends on your reseller. Probably yes, but you should contact him.

BTW, the suggested speed for the Nexus S is 1 GHz, rather than 1.2 GHz. And even if it does not get to hot, you might experience crashes. Especially when you drop the Vcore voltages.

i dont do volting when i overklok.i mostly run on 1.4 GHZ as i alrwady told.
im using stock rom and natarcy kernel.
i have the USA I9020 version.
i dont know what version/model number you have.cuz it might also be a incompatible problem with rom or kernel.
but if it did crash allot with stock.than indeed you should return it for a new one or w/e

i using superaosp 8.2
with the kernel it came with which is 2.6.35.13 - superaosp - s- 1400- rv3
anyway its little problem to send it back to england from israel
i will try see if i will able get help from google about it and mayby will able send it directly to them.

[4.0] Problems (ME865/MB865/AT&T)

Let me share some first :
1. I just found that the rom can't run NFS Shift smoothly, at least in the racing part but not in the menu part.
2. I can connect my home wifi with 72Mbps (it reports...) but no data transfer after few seconds.... I'm still checking if there is a fxxxxxx guy using wifikill targeted on mine phone...
My phone is ME865 using the China leaked rom.

These are perfect examples of why you should NOT run the leaked firmwares. We have been doing this for 7 months now, and I have seen 3 different firmwares released, and EVERYTIME we get leaks people want to run the latest firmware and have issues and want help because now they can't easily get back to the way their phone was before.
YOU WERE WARNED by all of the devs in here.
Let this be a lesson to EVERYONE else in the Atrix2 forum.
Now, I know these issues don't seem so bad, but there may be more things to uncover yet, that are not working correctly.
To all Atrix2 users who read this: DO NOT INSTALL THESE LEAKS!!!!
Us devs will figure out how to get the ICS updates to the correct phones with (hopefully) some fixes to the issues BEFORE they are released to the public, but you have to give us time to do so.
I will say this now:
If you PM me because you did this, or if you post asking for help because you did this, you will end up on my ignore list!

To be honest , I think this leak is too far better than the 2.3.5/2.3.6 roms.
I have never got any problems of the Class 10 SD card problems now, which is the most important thing.
I seldom play games and I think that's exceptional one.
I'm not asking for help for this issue but I think sharing the problems will make benefits for all of whom may/had/wanna try the rom. Thanks for your very kind comment to all of us.

I am not angry, I also NEVER once said that YOU asked for help.
What I am doing is trying to get everyone to understand something here. Myself and the other devs that have been here for a while are getting very tired of seeing that someone had an issue, that they caused themselves because they installed an update that they were not supposed to, from cheesecake. I am trying to get everyone to listen to reason here, and your post about issues that YOU find from installing an unsupported update, was a perfect example to use.
You have to understand that us devs do this in our free time, and we give you all 100% free support. You tell me where else you get that from.
So We have to keep everyone here doing their thing with their phones, and it seems that the ONLY thing most people listen to anymore is a little kick in the pants.
If you took some offense to my post, well then you prolly deserve some of that...
My job as a dev in here, is keep everyone from screwing up their phones.
Just wait till I am not here anymore, or that I do decide to ignore your posts, or PMs...

It's ok. I can't agree you more. We get all of you devs free supports and all the works are great. Someone did ask for help because of the leaked roms and some others issues/threads/posts/questions you don't want to hear/see/read. I'm sorry for all of the impolite /bad feeling you feel.
Therefore, I won't talk about anything about the leaked roms in this sections from now on. If you want to , you may delete those old post which you think it may lead the problems. For the development section, if there is a mircale I found something it may help , I will translate/forward it as before.
and believe me , sticking a red color thread which prohibits something may help. It's not about the freedom of speech. Cheers.

I think you completely misunderstand me here.... I am just trying to keep others from doing something that they can not recover from (not everyone knows how to put their phone into fastboot and apply the fxz). You should post these things, and it is good that YOU put this here....
I am just trying to keep other users safe from themselves so to speak.
ICS will be here soon enough. I was just using your post with pre-release issues, as an example to others, and again the other people in this forum only seem to listen if is in DARK RED, and says WARNING WILL ROBINSON!!.
I have absolutely no hard feelings about you or anything in this place. I am just trying to keep everyone focused on what they should be focused on.

dont know why u r getting those issues but trust me i didnt got any wifi or any kind of problem not even a single fc and all the game run very smooth even nova 3
maybe u should try wiping data and cache
i have only one problem ram, ICS eat more ram compare to gb so ram goes down very quickly esp. while using browser,

Wait a second.... you're telling me you're running the China leaked ROM on your AT&T phone?
I wouldn't mess with that mate.
Running a ROM that wasn't designed for you phone just seems like an accident/brick waiting to happen. Good luck though!

I bought the phone from Saudi Arabia. I have the S3 version.
I am not 100% sure about this, but if I recall correctly it used to write from left to right when i bought it. <-- Not too sure about this.

I downloaded a program called morelocale2 and it allowed me to change my country to stuff outside the preinstalled countries so I set it to Canada since that's where I live but it is still the same

I have the exact same problem with my htc sensation (bought in Lebanon), when I updated to ice cream sandwich and got the note app.
I contacted htc support and I received this reply: "Kindly note that this issue has been escalated for a higher level for investigation and we would contact you the moment we receive an update."
I hope that someone knows how to fix it and thanks for the help.

I know you are not rooted
If it is only the notes app can you somehow uninstall/delete it and re install it or another note app from market
I rooted my phone same day I bought it, so am not familiar on how to do that stuff on non-rooted phones

There is no way to uninstall it using the normal uninstallation methods and I have not found a way to download it again. I would gladly download a diff notes app however I cannot find a semidecent one that I like

Try Evernote. HTC Notes actually syncs with Evernote anyways, which is why it asks for you to login when you turn it on for the first time. Great app, has all the features of stock Notes + a lot more.

Hi all, this is my first post in here so plz bear with me if i sound like such a newb.. so i got my HTC one S last week, after being totally bored with 4yrs of iOS.. i gotta say everythin is great.. except for the crappy Calendar, no iOS-style shake to Undo, and this little issue with Notes: it also insists on typing English characters from right to Left! Needless to say this is frustrating for sum1 who uses Notes multiple times a day.. and such a disappointment for an -almost- flawless device & OS.. No i do not think downloading a third-party application, or rooting the device is worth the hassle because i am not trying to locate a star in space, i just wanna type sum text for god's sake! come on there has to be a solution to this.. Furthermore, the iPhone 5 is coming out soon.. just sayin.. FYI i also got my device from Saudi, running ICS 4.0.3 + HTC Sense 4.0.. Cheers

Run a WWE RUU. Why did you talk about the iPhone 5? It has no relevance. The problem is where you bought the device from, which is Saudi Arabia. Arabic writes from right to left, which is why you should buy it from another country if you're from a different country.

To tell the truth, i didn't face this problem on my EVO 3D before. . . But it started when I installed the stock rom made for middle East and updated to ICS. . . I don't know but I believe if you flashed a none Middle East rom you'll get it fixed. . .

[Q] Hardware or Software issue?

Hey guys,
my friend recently updated her phone to Cyanogen 12 and now the phone keeps restarting by itself all the time and the display has grafic issues like the one he screencapped on the picture. Is this a hard or software issue? He got his phone a few days befoefore and used Cg11 for 1day only. Thanks in advance!

Updated to CM12s OTA myself mid week and mine restarted itself today too. Been on stock 11s for 6 months wanting to experience the stock upgrade. I rebooted a few times before this to minimise errors due to that.
Another thing I've noticed is that with the official flip case... Opening the case doesn't now turn on the screen consistently as it used to with 11s.
I'm going to have to factory reset to see if that's the problem. Certainly no hardware issues here.

It'd be much better for him to come and post himself. If he isn't willing to make the effort to come and make the process easier then why would anyone here take the time out of their day either? The whole process is much smoother without having to go through a third party.

If his tech knowledge equals zero then that's all the more reason for him to come here himself, to learn and expand his knowledge. There are a great deal of members on XDA who don't speak English very well, but Google translate is quite effective at overcoming that problem.

While I totally agree with your point we also have to accept his behaviour to let me do the research. In contrast to me he hasnt got much time since he is very busy working - unlike me. So please let us focus on the original question.
You already mentioned that its software related. Thanks for your help! Is there any way to fix the issue? I havent found another one having this screen grafic lags and the issue thst the phone is restarting by itself all the time.

I can only suggest a full wipe off the device and then flashing the stock images with fastboot.

Be Careful What Custom rom you install,Phone send's Sms to Sweden !!!

Today i just found that my phone sent sms to Sweden 7 euro to different numbers ,this happend while testing custom roms from here for Xperia Z3 ,but nowhere on my phone i didn't found those sms....if someone ask's i can give the full list of numbers that my phone sended by himself unseen unheard....

Mmm, which ROMs did you install? I have tried quite a lot of ROMs from here and none of them sent SMS's anywhere.

RXSW_MM_edition_[4.0.0].zip without aroma or LinuXRoM_beta.1.5.1 one of these 2 and i am very sure all these sms were sent from 21:14 to 21:24 109 sms messages to 4 numbers ,each number received allmost the same amount of sms,24-24-28-33,i am not paranoic ,this is not my first smartphone,not the first custom rom installed,i had a lot of phones and this is the first time my provider said i have 7 euro extra on my phone,i checked my account on my provider and saw the phone numbers

I can not find the first,the link was deleted,but i'm sure that was RXSW 4.0 was without aroma fully functional,i think i will never instal custom roms,too many modified files,without knowing what's inside,even when entering bootloops can send sms by himself,it was the first time for many many custom roms,i will try to install only stock rom from sony,7 euro for 109 sms to 4 people that i dont know and even not found on sms app or in contacts....very strange,one of these 2 roms is guilty for that,i have proof from my cellphone provider,i am from Romania i dont even know no one from Sweden.

Xdadev sources should be ok, never, EVER search for newer roms on other sites, even, if someone tell you that this is it.

Actually there are reports from some rom(can't remember what i think it was rxsw 2.0) that had random sms sent to strange numbers for some people
You can swipe whole thread and find people complaints
Dev's said they have somehow fixed it for future versions,most of the people don't have that problem and some of them reported it

thanks for your opinion i am 100% sure it was that rom without aroma,i have the list from my cellphone provider with those sms messages,too many,i'm using android N from sony now without root or something else,i dont want to be a victim anymore,first time in years on custom rom,the first time it happend,i am very sure it wasnt a mistake,4 phone numbers with almost amount of sms...very strange

So, what's the situation now, have you installed another ROM? Or are you still using the affected one? Are you monitoring the SMS, is it still sending undercover messages to those numbers?

To be honest, I also been charge for a couple of sms also, I wonder if the Beta program app could be resposible for that ( as i know beta program is been run from sweeden), so if someone has in their rom this aplication avoid to send any report to beta group, I ask to beta guys about this but still I am waiting for answer. cheers

now i use android N build number NPD35K.100080,i dont want custom rom,to pay money for nothing,for testing i can use sony updates

how is possible to send by himself in 3 or 4 minutes sms mesages 109, 24 to one number 24 to another 28 another one and 33 to another one??i have those numbers from my provider.

that´s really weird i just have a couple or three messages, but no one on spanish forum report something so maybe is not the beta program. ???

this is been report on 2011 this number is the one i get from my bill. It seems its from Sony. So Anyone from sweedom can investigated?

I'm currently running rsxw v4, and I don't have any rogue sms sent messages.

flashed many stock based and cm based roms but never faced that issue lol
just go back to fresh stock rom then flash your favorite rom ( maybe this way solve the issue)

Good that you are quick to blame others before looking at your own faults/mistakes. Im from Austria and my ROMs are based on either Austria/Germany and Spain for Beta. Can you tell me why i should integrate something that sends SMS to Sweden? If somebody did that then its maybe Sony but its surely not my ROM. Since my XDA Career which is over 5 Years i have like almost 10 Million Clicks for all my Projects and you are the first reporting such stuff. I never had such a issue not in Stock Sony and not in my ROM.

you want the proof i will upload the list received from my provider ,you did upload v4 without aroma before?and shared the link on xda?am i right or not...i am i lier or not just tell me the truth
