[Q] [HELP] Trouble restoring the EFS backup

Hi All,
I was using GT-I9003 with XXKPE ROM on 2.3.6 GB.
Rooted the phone and installed CM10 A4 (JB) and it was running fine for 1 month.
Suddenly one day, the phone was stuck in flight mode and cannot connect to the carrier.
When I checked, the IMEI is blank and baseband is unknown. Wifi and other services were working without any issue.
I have a backup of EFS folder taken while installing CM10/Nandroid backup but restoring the files did not help.
Tried manual copy of nvdata file with root explorer, EFS pro but IMEI is still blank.
Moved to stock ROM but still the phone does not take backed up EFS information.
Is there a way to restore IMEI information without motherboard replacement ?
Regards,
Ram
Sorry but need your help too.

You can move to the custom ROM by flashing the XXK** stock rom from odin.

[Q]Is there anyone in the forum who can fix the baseband unknown and imei unknown

I have been looking around for quite some time and been trying various methods mentioned by so many experienced members but unfortunately no body has come up with the solution of the baseband unknown and imei unknown problem.
I tried to root my S4 clone mt6575 phone 1 month back using the mtk droid tools. It backed up the stock rom with two folders in the backup. After rooting next day when I rebooted the phone there were no signals and after checking the settings, to my surprise the baseband was unknown and imei was not there too.
I had backed up the user data using the stock recovery option of backup the data, but its only restored through original recovery only. So reflashed the old recovery and restored the userdata everything came back but the setting shows the baseband unknown and imei blank. Still unable to call as radio is not there. Surfed a lot but till date am not able to find the solution.
This is for every senior member who is there in XDA. Can u pls help me out in this. Is there no way to restore the baseband? Because without the baseband, imei cant be written using any tool or for that matter using terminal emulator too.
Is there any method to convert the userdata backup done using stock recovery to the sp tools flashable images. I am ready to upload my backup if someone out there is ready to help.
Thanks

Changed IMEI

Hello XDA!
I've got the I9105P version, and after I've flashed a few rom's, I saw that my IMEI is changed to 0000000000. Although, I can make phone calls and have data connection on my phone. How could I restore my original IMEI? I have it on the back of the phone, with the serial number along.
Please help me!
Thank you!
Hello,
You can try and restore some backup if you have one, It should solve the problem.
If you have a EFS Partion backup, would be better.
Meanwhile see this 2 link:

I hope you will solve it.
Best regards,
Thank you for replying, but I already did what's in the first tutorial. The problem is that when I flashed a custom rom, I didn't knew that I have to backup EFS files(noob). Now, after reading and reading, I know that this is important. I reflashed my stock Rom 4.1.2 and nothing, and then reflashed 4.2.2 ultimate update from sammobile, and still nothing. Is there any other way in restoring my IMEI?
Hey guys! I search a lot in the forum, but unfortunatelly, I don't have the NV Data files in my EFS folder. I think the only solution is to get the phone to a gsm service, that has a Octopus Box.
If you think that I have a solution without this, text me

You flashed the full Google factory image (flash-all.batt) in fastboot and your issue still not solved? Do you see a Imei number when you type in dialpad *#06# and a Macadress in about the phone? Have you backed-up your EFS folder? Start with flashing the cache.img in fastboot (fastboot flash cache cache.img), that helps sometimes.
already done

Well, imo the EFS file is corrupted, you will need a new motherboard to fix the issue i`am afraid. Sorry mate, hope i`am wrong and maybe someone else has a different opinion that can help you
these are the exact symptoms of a corrupt EFS, and because you don't have a backup your phone is screwed and you will need a new motherboard. always backup EFS the moment you get your phone... That's what everybody says.
If I were you in this situation I'd salvage as many sellable parts of the phone (screen, battery etc), and use the money to buy a completely new phone. Otherwise I will just send it in for replacement

don't think efs messed up
I don't think that the efs is messed up.I only did a restore from backup.moreover I had never flashed any custom ROM on the device.I was running stock ROM with xposed and restored stock ROM.Also, the day this thing happened,I flashed factory image several times and was unable to fix the problem. However, the next day it became fine automatically and was showing baseband and imei. Then I just power off the phone. When I turned it on,I was again not able to see imei.Since then I have been unable to get imei back.
