[Q] Is it okay to set pacrom as first rom when dualbooting? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I used blackhawk's dual booting method, and i switched my first rom to pacman rom. It says that I need to flash blackhawk's next kernel to use dualbooting, but is it ok to flash the kernel after flashing pacman rom?

[Q] rom n bootloader/kernal confusion

hey i'm coming from using moto milestone n i'm really confused abt something
since there was no custom kernal for milestone
1) when i root my phone do i unlock the bootloader also ?
2) when i install a rom which says it has a kernal so tht means when i flash it the custom kernal flashes as well on its own ?
3) if i install a rom n then i want another kernal, do i flash it the same way ?
1. Bootloader need to be unlocked in order to root and install custom roms.
2. Each rom comes with a kernel but you can flash other kernels on it.
3. Flashing a new rom will wipe your kernel to a stock one which comes with the rom. But you can reflash any kernel on it.
So basically unlock bootloader> root> install clockworkmod> make backup> install rom> flash kernel> install different rom> reflash favorite kernel again.

[Q] Need some guidance of kernel and custom rom install

I want to install ElementalX kernel and CleanRom JL. Since the kernel also supports hboot 1.4, i'm not sure what should be the order of installation?
1. Flash kernel along with boot.img. Then flash custom rom on the phone
2. Flash just the kernel and skip boot.img installation. Then push the boot.img separately and flash custom rom
3. Push the boot.img separately and flash custom rom. Then, flash the kernel without boot.img support.
Can somebody help me out here. Thanks in advance.
Flash clean Rom then elemental

Dirty unicorns rom kernel

Im about to flash dirty unicorns 5.0.2 . I already have twrp recovery and have downloaded the elementalx 2.08 kernel.. Do i have to install kernel in order to install the rom or everything will be fine with the stock lollipop kernel?
Usually the ROM is packed with the kernel that is compatible. So every ROM has it's 'default' kernel You can replace it with ElementalX afterwards though

BUT it's ALWAYS better to read a few pages from the ROM's thread before flashing it.
Actually if you flash BlissPop rom today then your device won't boot (issue with stock kernel). So you must flash a custom kernel to be able to boot to Android.

[Q] Android kexec kernel won't install in secondary ROM

I moved my primary Android ROM to a secondary ROM in MultiROM but now it won't boot, even after re-flashing the kexec patched kernel. The kernel flash itself reports success but I get the kexec error when trying to boot that Android ROM from MultiROM. The primary CM12.1 ROM boots fine.
I realize now that the primary ROM must have the kexec patched kernel. That cleared this up.

Help me to solve bootloop

I Tried 3 Custom rom All Are installed And Not opens after the boot logo Waited above one hour Any one tell me to solve this
If you are installing android 4.2.x then first flash kernel 3.4 and then flash the ROM. When i flashed ROM for first time I was also getting bootloop but then I saw that i had a lower Kernel Version.
