Nobody can answer that question because it's just objective opinion. Flash both and decide which is best for you because you're the only one that can answer that question. That is why this type of thread is frowned upon.

I just the latest nightly build of CM10 and its great, project butter is definitely present! After running a few benchmark test i notice that CM10 "apparently" runs slower than stock ICS with since overlay. Haven't used it enough to talk about the battery life in comparison to stock either.
I just simply want to ask is there a reason that CM10 runs slower than stock?

It is missing hardware vsync. Apparently while working on what broke the builds since 10/12 they have made significant progress towards hardware vsync unexpectedly.

Hard to believe since it's so smooth lol. I guess that's what I should expect though coming from ICS.

Hi, mitchel0 here
I just recently got my first android phone, the at&t USA HOX. Since A root exploit was just found, and I really want jellybean, I was wondering what the current best rom for this phone is. I have no prior experience in android and am a noob. I am looking for functionality, stability, compatibility, and battery life, so please recommend me what the current best is. Thanks!
P.S do i need to flash a radio, or do roms come with those? If I do, what radio? Thanks!
If you rooted from 2.20 you can't flash a radio.
There is no "best" Rom. Go flash and experiment
Best rom threads are against the rules as wellm

Everyone I have seen on the One XL is using the Viper XL ROM. Very smooth, fast, lots of mods.
I flashed codename android, and it's awesome, I'll get around to flashing some others eventually

cm10 is the best!
cm10
Cyanogized HTC1 X
CM10 is great. However, h8rift, the developer, is doing a lot of work to the kernel right now, so it will be 1000x better soon. :highfive:

Stop encouraging this behavior by posting the "best" Rom.
I haven't even tried some of them, but I'm not gonna go around saying "x is the best"

ROM selection is a personal preference. What works for one person, may not for another. Because of this, "best rom" threads really serve no.purposem The best way to find out what ROM will work for you, is to research, flash, and experiment.

Sorry, that question can't be answered. One thing I've learned from my time here is that all phones are NOT the same, what works on my S3 may or may not work on yours.
You'll have to make your own tests, get started flashing various ROMs and good luck!

You have to understand that all of those ROMs have some problems since they are fairly new. All are still in the early stages of development.

I dont know if you are new or not so please dont think I mean to preach. But, when I am deciding what rom to use I read pages upon pages of the thread for that rom. I believe this is important so not only can I see what rom works like I want but, also prepares me for what to expect after flashing. Simply taking someones advice on which rom to flash will not always end with the best result.
That being said I am loving masta's cm10.1 unofficial.

I couldn't agree more.
Asking people for advice is probably bad because many stick with the first one they find work well.
Or they use what someone else says works best.
Roms work differently on everyone's phone so you must try for yourself.
Also people become very bias when they find a ROM they like.
Haha so it may not be the best for your needs.
Good luck and get flashing

I am running Hyperdrive and it's been pretty good. My battery has always been amazing but coming from the Galaxy Nexus that wasn't hard to do. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I am not sure if axis is being worked on. I know the dev was going to attempt to release a new rom but decided to wait until 4.3 I think?
Sorry folks, thread like these get closed as they always end up being arguments over personal preferences and about which is "best".
users are expected to read, study and try the many wonderful product made to determine the answer to the aforementioned question on their own.
there are hundreds of feature filled rom present for nexus 5.. so what according to you is the best rom and why..
this will help any new owner and flasholic like me to decide which rom to flash first
Nice try, but this is qualifies as a best rom thread. You're going to have to try some and see what fits your needs.

You're not a flashaholic. If you were, you'd flash them all and see for yourself, which is actually inline with the XDA rules
I'd go for the ios5 rom
