Hey guys, jomeister here with a request for some dev help with porting Miuiv4 to our phones. I figure now that the ICS drivers has been released, and with my AOSP rom being updated soon, we might as well get down to business with some ICS Miui.
So far, I've been looking at this page here ------> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1499411
And trying to use a phone with the msm8660 processor to port off, the evo 3d
here ------> http://www.goodandevo.net/2012/02/u...d.html?cid=6a00d83451c9ec69e2016301cbfba1970d.
So.... yeah, if you're willing to help me with this, please leave a comment so we can get started on some Miui goodness.
iandroidos I'm looking at you.
Hmmm I'll do a blind port with a few help from other friends of mine MIUI v4 will be simple since its minimal for now but not really simple.

As I'm reading the instructions, I'm starting to doubt more and more if this will work or not. The Evo 3D is a very different device... Not to mention that it's HTC, and not Samsung.
I'm downloading the Evo3D rom right now anyways. Going to try this.

Well, really the only difference between Miui and AOSP is the system/framework, some system/apps, and some other random files that aren't really that critical to the system. The Evo 3D actually not that different from our Skyrocket; they both have the same msm8660 chip.
Yeah... but still a very slim chance that it'll work.
I tried it, and as expected: softbrick
It didn't even post. o.o

Hey guys any chance we would be getting at least an alpha of this soon? Just wondering cause of the new unofficial cm9 build that was released yesterday
Strange that this thread should be woken up today.
Hey jo, wali10x and I are working on a MIUIv4 ROM. Care to help? We're stuck on something very, very annoying.

We've been trying and so far, from what I know, we fixed surfaceflinger in the CM9 base but AtCmdFwd won't start. I believe it is because of libhardware_legacy.so

Hey everyone! Here is where you can post about my ROM is you:
1. Have less than 10 posts
2. Don't wan't to post in the development section
3. Have a really nooby question and don't want to be embarrassed :good:
Please keep it to general questions here and any comments or bugs that you think belong in the development section should be posted there.

This is CM10. I don't want to explain it again but basically I will be merging my ColdBlooded Tweaks soon. I compiled from source and then made some modifications so some more things worked. Also, I am available to help people and fix issues where as the other cm10 is not as they are very VERY busy doing great work on other things/roms! Just try the rom and you will find out or read in the thread. I can't go very deep into now because I am busy doing many things but I'm sure you will figure it out.
nice work
Nice Work BiteBlaze.
I'm using your ROM as my daily driver and is awesome.
Was a little difficult to me to at the first because the phone don't boot, just hang out on the X boot image. I flash with TWRP first, and I think I didn't do full wipe out, don't remember.
After flashing the boot.img that come with the zip all went well
Some bugs that you maybe already know:
the incoming notification appear some glitch;
Also my battery life is short, 6 hours for the first boot. In "battery usage" I didn't notice any strange behaviour, my screen is consuming most of the time 60%. Maybe I have to calibrate my battery.
But in resume all works well.
Love Google Now Cards
Thanks

Your Welcome! It will only get better in the future
Ahhhhhhhh!!!! I've got a dilema, i'm quite fine with my actual rom Paranoid Android.... but I want to try yours so much !!
I do need a stable rom with a good battery life! So... if some people makes relevant comments to convince me to flash it i'll do it, héhéhé! :silly:
I was little skeptical at 1st because I'm running the other cm10 but this feels a lot better and you actually have a camera app. Awesome job. I noticed cm10 has theme engine will you be adding that feature to your ROM?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
Yep. Next time I compile I will add the theme engine. Also, vote on the poll in my dev thread and tell me if I should make a lite version.

Is it ever possible that we can receive official support from the CM team once this is no longer alpha/beta (almost everything works)? What our devs do here is completely amazing and mind boggling, but it would always be more concrete if we get official support. I always wondered why we do not have CM support when our device is tied in first place with the One X (over GSiii!). Thanks for the amazing hard work getting this going!

Sorry, that question can't be answered. One thing I've learned from my time here is that all phones are NOT the same, what works on my S3 may or may not work on yours.
You'll have to make your own tests, get started flashing various ROMs and good luck!

You have to understand that all of those ROMs have some problems since they are fairly new. All are still in the early stages of development.

I dont know if you are new or not so please dont think I mean to preach. But, when I am deciding what rom to use I read pages upon pages of the thread for that rom. I believe this is important so not only can I see what rom works like I want but, also prepares me for what to expect after flashing. Simply taking someones advice on which rom to flash will not always end with the best result.
That being said I am loving masta's cm10.1 unofficial.

I couldn't agree more.
Asking people for advice is probably bad because many stick with the first one they find work well.
Or they use what someone else says works best.
Roms work differently on everyone's phone so you must try for yourself.
Also people become very bias when they find a ROM they like.
Haha so it may not be the best for your needs.
Good luck and get flashing

Finally decided to try a custom rom, I'm tired of waiting for verizon to update the S3 to Premium Suite Upgrade.
Is there any roms out there that are stable and have the multi window function, I'm not looking for anything fancy just simple but that includes all the features that were left iut with the 4.1.2 update.
If youccould point me to the right direction I'd appreciate it
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
please do some research and read. there are probably more than 5 of the roms that meet your criteria in the development section.
you need to try roms and read and see what meets your needs. there are guides and similar threads all over this forum.
there are some small features in some that arent available in others that will make people want certain roms.
put a little effort in, itll serve you well. its obvious youve put in 0% effort.
I was just hoping for some examples from users who have had experience.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
the threads of teh roms are filled with experiences, opinions and impressions. what more do you really want?
I mean, the titles of the roms and original posts have all the information youd really ever need.
we see these threads daily and they get closed. theres a wealth of info here. dig in.
5-7 posts down from this.....theres a 30 page thread dedicated to limiting posts like this.

OK I will suggest the 3 best ROMs IMO to you; Synergy, MOAR & Hyperdrive. They all have the multi window and are fast with many mods.

I wont respond with a jerk answer. Bro try synergy rom, hyperdrive rom, or beanstown rom. Im personally drawn to using any rom by deviant. Sons of android, deviant one, there's a couple. Not to mention the support in the threads are great. I recently tried synergy. Great rom, and great support aswell. Synergy is very very stable. Just make sure u read the o.p. prior to flashing anything. Don't forget to unlock your bootloader.

Not hard at all now was it.
That is because your question is asked and answered hundreds of times a week. It gets very repetaive.
Doing a google search for "4.1.2 root sch-i535" will give you plenty of results. Dont limit yourself to xda, check youtube and other sites as well. I spent a month on and off reserching methods and reading user errors before I rooted, unlocked and flashed. That is excessive but I wanted to minimize and fix any errors thst might come my way.

Hello my fellow Blaze Users! Summer is near at my place which would mean no school and more time for ROMs!! If there is are any ROMs you want for the Blaze tell me here! But when telling me give me some info like:
-Link to the ROM
-Is it our latest version of Android?
-And just for fun, why you want it!
But remember. Never ask me or any dev for ETA's! Also, for the ROMs I've already ported, I will work on updating them first then do your guys requests!
This is different than the other Port Request thread. This thread will give more info about the ROMs wanted to port to make it easier for us(or any) to port. Thank you :cyclops:
