I'm not sure, check the site to see what you need
Keep in mind that there is no documented s-off for the One mini, not yet anyway

Moonshine seemns to be good tool (if u have Linux)
Maybe i have to wait till hasoon2000 releaseas a toolkit for our mini.
I have no idea how to get s-off and the recovery tools...

Moonshine is no go on this device. Already got with the devs of it. I habent talked to rev one guys yet but will sometime soon

You'll need to wait for HTC to fix their unlock tool, which according to them should be any day now, and then use that. Once you're unlocked, you can flash superuser.
anybody know if this is possible yet?
Some people have been able to use the HTC unlock tool, most people it doesn't work for.
At the moment, that's really all there is...

Those of us on HBOOT 1.44.0013 are still waiting on an unlock method since HTC's boot unlocker is still borked and people are still trying to figure out a way to downflash to HBOOT 1.44.0007.

According to the latest email from HTC, it should be fixed by the end of February.

How to fastboot flash recovery
and then:
Gain root access on the latest 1.55.531.3 update, ONLY IF you are S-OFF
At the second link you can find an updated superuser file to flash in your new recovery.
I have an S-On 1.55.531.3 phone. I tried the HTC unlocker (link from nlarge). Everything flashed correctly w/o error, but I did not get the splash screen on my phone at the end that asks if I want to unlock my phone. So my phone is still locked. If anyone has any thoughts on what to try, let me know.

You're part of the group for whom the bootlooader unlock tool doesn't work, and you'll have to wait for HTC to deliver a fix.
For those of us with hboot_1.45.0013..... any way to get recovery? I can flash the recovery but it does not seem to do anything when i boot in to it. When i make any choice like install from zip and select using power button just a logo of rom manager comes up and no action..... any help for my hboot is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

[Q] Possible to root on Sensation XE ICS

I am really a noob at rooting, though there are easy steps. However this confuses me. So if anyone can find a very good guide for rooting my Sensation XE running on ICS, that is noob-friendly.
EDIT: All I need to do is to downgrade my HBoot version to 1.17.xxxx - but I want to find the easiest way to do that.
EDIT2: I unlocked my phone's bootloader. Doesn't help with S-Off though. :/
I will have to wait for Revolutionary to update their tool so that my phone can S-Off (since my phone is 1.27.0000)
May I can downgrade my phone back to Gingerbread, but how? And it looks risky, will that can brick my phone?
I'll press the Thank button if your post is helpful enough.
I have found this to be a very useful guide with ICS https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KEQCpmcLGjbkeLmVU0mpLSwZvjNqLSAmNBqyKMus3Ag/edit?hl=en_US
You may also want to check youtube for the unlockr video tutorials, they typically refer back to xda, but will help if you need a visual reference.

Maybe you will try to use Unlock Bootloader from htcdev.com but I can't make sure because I already S-OFF before rooted. But if you find a way to S-OFF you may would like try method above which I use.
I hope you have been s-off before update because unrevoked won't support it right now. If it show LOCKED on bootloader, this is how I root my Sensation XE.
1. Unlocked the phone using htcdev.com account since no other's method seem possible right now. But if you device already unlock you do not have to do this.
Go to hTCDEV register, click "Unlock Bootloader" and follow the instruction.
2. Install custom recovery, since htc recovery won't flash/install flashble zip correctly. For this I use "Android Recovery Manager". Reboot the phone after unlocked process. Connect the phone with usb cable. Open the Android Recovery Manager > Start > ** Download a recovery ** > HTC Sensation > ClockWorkMod 5.0.2.0 (Pyramid) > follow the instruction on the software. If stuck when device reboot to flash hboot but not yet flash it because can recognised the FASTBOOT(Android Recovery Manager waiting for FASTBOOT). Take out battery, reconnect usb and boot to FASSBOOT.
3. Flash the supersu, as the Android Recovery Manager finish flash the ClockWorkMod you have to install Superuser-3.0.7-d-signed.zip. If fail retry flash 2-3 times, but I am just done 1 time, before on GB I flash two time because fail at 1st time. And now you rooted and reboot your phone.
Try at your own risk.
Summary :
Download Android Recovery Manager and Superuser-3.0.7-d-signed.zip, place the Superuser-3.0.7-d-signed.zip on sdcard. Unlock the phone on htcdev.com, install custom recovery with Android Recovery Manager and flash the supersuser.
* use Superuser version 3.0.7 because the lower version won't support ICS. Use link given and download the right version.
I am using this method on Sensation XE, so try at your own risk. I will not responsible to anything happen. And please do make sure you backup your device first.
# Just hit the thanks button so I and other's will know this method also work for you ;p

superuser can't update latest SU binary update, it says failed to gain root access.
titanium backup says the same too "no root access"
do you know a link for the latest su binary update? I flashed the
superuser - 3.0.7-d-signed

after bootloader unlock. the first thing is to flash custom recovery twrp 2.3.3.1 or under or official cwm
if youre not s-off you need to extract the boot.img from whatever rom youre flashing and then flash it using fastboot. (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
once you s-off this step is no longer needed.

[Q] HTC Sensation stuck with Android Kit-Kat after brick

Hello,
I have a HTC sensation, that i started rooting and install a custom rom - Kitkat from sultanxda.
All worked perfectly, only that one day i wanted to make a sim unlock, because it was locked in Vodafone Romania.
By mistake, i am not an expert, i've used the comand: fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
After this i've got my phone bricked...
I've found Unbriking projet on xda, and with a Linux I have managed on unbriking.
The problem is that now i have S-ON, and i cannot install another ROM, it works only with the ROM that wass installed before bricking.
I cannot get S-off, i have tried Juopunutbear method, but its not working, says to connect the device, and install drivers...
I have tried a lot of method's, i've tried installing a stock RUU, without luck...
I guess that i have to modify my firmware or hboot version, but as I was saying, i am no expert.
I can provide more information, if anyone can help me.
thanks

just follow step 2 from this guide(flashing a recovery)

enable smartflash(because now you are on S-ON)

i have a European unbranded model ! S4 bought it from Germany ....
damn this thing looks dangerous ... wtf ?
this is how my bootloader looks like :
*** LOCKED ***
VLE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT- 2.15.000
RADIO- 1.15.50.05.29
OpenDSP- v31.1.0.45.0815

Solved !
Guys i came to the conclusion that the best way to S-Off ( international unbranded version S4 ) is Rumrunner !
1.you just need an unlocked Bootloader ( through HTCdev )
2.you need to be rooted
3.follow instructions on their site !!
pretty easy and no risks whatsoever !

I haven't tried it, so I can't verify if it works, and haven't seen much discussion of it on xda. I am just curious as to whether you saw this, and if you tried it.

Now, I want to S-OFF my HTC, but I have one question:
Can I S-OFF by rumrunner method if I'm rooted and I have unlocked bootloader?
I read that to rumrunner method i have to be rooted OR i must have unlocked bootloader
Can i have both root and unlocked bootloader?

yes you can , actually you have to be rooted , cause i tried it with Unlocked bootlaoder only and it failed , it said that i should be rooted !!
so i rooted and tried again ! and it worked !
just one thing though , IF during the process the SU app asks you to grant access for the ADB shell , you have to grant it .. and the process will break , meaning you won't get S-Off the first time ... after that just run the process again, and it will work ! GL.
i have a little problem :crying: What to do now?

hmm, cap is on tighter than I expected........
hell, that damn cap is on REALLY tight.......

unfortunately this isn't going to work out with your configuration. you have 2
options:
1.) flash an unsecure kernel that's compatible with your ROM and retry rumrunner
(preferred and most reliable method).
2.) flash a different rom.

unfortunately this isn't going to work out with your configuration. you have 2
options:
1.) flash an unsecure kernel that's compatible with your ROM and retry rumrunner
(preferred and most reliable method).
2.) flash a different rom.

Man face palm is too complicated .. supercid and stuff ... Scary , there is a chance of bricking the phone ... For newbies it's too dangerous ... But not for you

So, neither rumrunner nor firewater works for me
Maybe I must have supercid?
I'm on stock JB 4.1.1, and stock kernel. I have unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP 2.6.3.0 and rooted.
Facepalm will work for sure?

Now I'm going to install Viper one s:
I downloaded and put rom (version 3.1.0) on sd card but i have one question:
If i'm coming from stock rom i have to wipe data/factory reset and then install the rom?
On the video i saw installing rom with selecting full wipe only in Aroma installer
So, in TWRP i have to select install, select viper one s, in Aroma select full wipe and
everything will be ok?
(sorry fo my stupid questions, i'm totally newbie and i don't want to brick my one s )
