Can it be done? - General Questions and Answers

Hello my fellow phone geeks. I have a question about a Verizon family share plan contract.
My dad's line is currently out of contract. I was wondering if there is a way I can switch numbers or contracts or something so that I can get out of contract on my line, and he can keep his. He's had that number for a long time and he can't lose it.
Thanks
-Ben

They closed my topic on this. Problem is what you're doing is trying to sell. That's worse than my giving away thread. Try celltrade

I'm not sure if it would financially make sense especially since you have to turn in your phones and buy new phone.

If you are planning to switch, you'll end up saving a ton of money. It's a great option to have. Tmobile making big, smart moves, plus John Legere crashed at&t's party at CES. He's hilarious.

My concern is if I move my five lines which I pay $200 now will rise in cost because I would either have to pay for five phones outright or finance them which will add at least another $100 to a bill that would be about $160 before taxes.

Why do you people have so many lines?
I have 3, because there are 3 of us.

Nexus 5 is $0 down/$16.50 month right now, so $82.50 a month in top of existing plan (but you'd get 5 Nexus 5's!).

Everyone may not want the Nexus 5. That can be an issue. Especially with my wife. Lol.

It was just an example, there are other $0 down phones, too (and you can expect some deals may pop up for Valentine's day).
My wife wouldn't want a nexus, either. She's addicted to qwerty.
However, I don't see any reasonable qwerty phones out there, since the Galaxy Relay 4G (which she has now).

My wife is addicted to the iPhone. I just don't want to pay more than what I'm paying right now. If I can stay at that $200 price, I'm all in.

Yeah, if you wait until the end of your contract, you can carry over any compatible devices. It might be the better option.
Who are you with now? Just for fun I checked on Verizon and for slightly less data, they want $300/month for 5 lines.

Oh yeah I believe if they can expand their LTE network and their 1900 MHZ UmTS/HSPA

They just bought a big chunk of A block 700mhz spectrum from Verizon. Things will only get better.

I've been when Tmobile for 6 years plus. I'm pretty happy with them. I like the changes they have made and are planning to make.

I've been with them a little longer than that and feel the same. Network is rapidly making huge strides.

I don't mind giving them a try, it just have to be cost effective.
