Does anyone know of a way to turn off the button lights on the Atrix 2? There are a couple of apps on the market that will turn them off. But I was hoping for a more permanent solution. As I like the on screen buttons better. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for my English first
Did you mean how to tnrn of the backlight of the capacitive buttons? If the answer is yes and you have already rooted your device, I suggest that you can try "Keyboard backlight controller" this app.
Latest PAC (4.3) has this ..

Depends on what ROM you're using. Not possible to tweak it if you're on a Stock ROM.
If you're on a custom ROM, then all ROMs with the RCMix tweaks have a feature to keep the button backlight on all the time.
Just go to Rcmix tweaks>Display Options>Backlight settings>Set to "Always On" and you're done.
Hope that solves your problem.
Hi just to update it seems it`s not possible to highlight the soft keys(that is the Home, Menu, Back and Search keys) They are automatic, triggered by the ambient light sensor and from my point of view this is very annoying.
As I am running the stock rom at the moment I am looking at the market to see if there are any apps that will solve this. If anyone knows of any that can do this can you let me know?
Thanks

Like I said... Not possible on stock ROM. In my knowledge... There is no app in the market that can let you do that... Least of all, without root.

Another update, just found an App called Screen Filter it`s primary function is to control screen brightness but is has an option to Enable soft-key backlight. Just the job for me

stick a tiny black "electricity tape" over the sensor...that`s what i did and now i have them permanently on....the sensor is located a little above and to the left of the name HTC at the top...you can test exactly where it is using your fingertip
Ha why didn't I think of that.Sometimes the best solutions are the easiest ones

If it was rooted you could have flashed aokp and gotten the navigation bar. But if your in that situation.... your screwed, go out and buy a new phone.
My question is about this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...e&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=tap+tap+tap+app
It uses the proximity sensor to unlock the screen (so saving the power button) but I'm concern that it would probably over load the sensor over time from continuously being on ... What do you think ?
Seems like a waste of time unless your power button is broken.

Power button doesn't seem that it will last so long , plus waiving a finger infront of the speaker area is easier that pushing a button , but Iam afraid it won't be free !!!
I've seen other people use it before. Works well enough I suppose, however there are also ways unlock your phone using the soft keys.

How ?
It has been programmed into a few of our ROMS, so check the development section, and you can also find multiple apps that will do it however I would steer away from ones that use the proximity sensor or anything else other than the soft keys as you're probably looking at a pretty hefty battery drain.
Edit: just checked my current ROM (CM9) and it has it under lock screen settings.

Do you know what we're talking about ?
Mahann! My apologies mate! I completely misread what you wanted!
Ok, I did have a way to WAKE my phone on my old og droid with the volume rocker.
However the only thing I know of that can wake your phone is an app where you shake your phone to wake it.
You can find it in the play store.
I know this is probably not what you are looking for, but it's all I got on this subject. Good luck man. Let us know if you find anything!

Hello guys
i've just registered here
i only want to avoid abusing power button to unlock the phone
i set only 1 min to auto-lock
the only way to unlock is by using power button, everytime i push im afraid that the button will go crazy
do you guys know any way to avoid this issue ?
i've search many app but they all use proximity sensors and i've tried it and nothing worked
i installed smart screen off v3.3 and thing went worse.... the screen stucked and trying to off-on-off-on-off-on everysecond
You can unlock by removing the s-pen, too.

I don't think using the word RAPE earns you much respect.
Oh and it's a tablet not a phone.
I use screen off fx for powering down, gives a virtual powerbutton on your screen with some nice off-effects, and its free! That halves use of powerbutton.

I use the app "rebooter" found in the app store to have a widget on screen that turns off, reboots or goes to recovery without using the powe button.... You do need to rooted to use this however...
I used some anti-stick screen cleaner on my phone screen and for some reason the back button does not work well and some of the screen does not work right. Any ideas on what I can do?

Only thing j can think or would be to root the device and then download a root app from the market that will put the soft keys on screen and make them usable. Search button savior (root) and this should fix your issue.
