Have you guys tried new released Asphalt 8 yet? And the graphic look suck, right? And worst thing is Gameloft locked "High" graphic setting for Galaxy Note N7000, so we can only play in Very very low, low, and medium (still low).
After searching around, I found a way to improve its graphic by changing the build.prop http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44919698
Changing the build.prop will unlock "High" graphic setting. I changed my ro.product.model=GT-N7000 to ro.product.model=GT-I9505 (Galaxy S4). Then I can set my graphic setting to "High", but I can say it's unplayable. It includes.. I don't know what it called, but I can say "sunshine" to the screen, wreck cars, and the cars look more realistic.
So, if it's unplayable for you, just can just simply change your graphic setting back to "medium" (with build.prop GT-I9505). It will remove the "sunshine", and something else you will notice in the game, but it's Playable at very high fps, and the cars are in high quality.
I'm not really good at writing English, so don't mind my writing skill. I just want to share my idea how to improve graphic on the new Asphalt 8.

I have also been talking about this for a while but i cant figure out how to set it to high.. I have changed the build.prop but no, the HIGH option is still locked. Please help me i want to play it on high settings. Changing "ro.product.model" seems as if it makes no changes to my device. Please please help me.

I believe one of the early NX kernel's will be good for increasing the performance... I think you could OC the GPU at one moment to 540MHz (not safe). However 400MHz should help

What rom are u using? Some rom (mostly tablet or phable), u cant change product model. I mean, u can change it, but when u go to Setting>about device, it will just show as N7000. I was using Xperiacle tablet/phablet rom and i couldnt change my build.prop, then i switched back to stock rooted XXLSZ and i managed to do it.
Hmmm. But i havent try with this : if you're using phablet mode, try to change your build.prop as ro.product.model=GT-N5100 (note 8.0). And if you're using tablet, try changing to Galaxy Note 10.1( GT-N8000). I didnt try yet but u should try it. It doesnt mean u need to change it to I9505, u can try something else.

Use medium setting (With I9505 build.prop), you'll notice car quality been improved, traffic cars on the road enabled, and cars wrecked are even more realistic.

Hmmm. But i havent try with this : if you're using phablet mode, try to change your build.prop as ro.product.model=GT-N5100 (note 8.0). Another way to do this is to change the config file in game obb. Copy your obb file to pc and extract cc.conf in device_config folder out and swap the value between i9500 and n7000. DO NOT just copy and paste to be like i9500, because when u start the game, sometime it will error and keep asking for Internet to check for required file. i tried already. So make sure u swap them and it will keep its size, there will be no error.

Ok i did this now when i start the game it shows me gameloft logo and then crashes and brings me to my homescreen.

Btw you meant to swap those values of other devices to out gt-n7000 !!

I think nothing can be done now. U were of gr8 help mate. Thanks a lot for your cooperation. It was able to check the required files after that it says "your game has been downloaded please select ok to play the game". So when i click ok it shows up the GAMELOFT logo then exits.

Yeah the previous method didn't work for me either but glad that i had backup, here you go.... Just download this file and move it to correct folder !!

yeh good question, cause i made some different settings and now i get only force closes, cant open program and seems that display types dynamic, movie and stardant shows same thing

Doesn't look much different to Screen adjuster.
There doesn't appear to be a gamma curve calibration which is what is really needed.

i think this program can be very usefull fpr galaxy note. I made some settings within color banding became not so big. Please test my solution and say is it better a bit. Firstly go to settings-display-screen mode and choose dynamic.Download attached zip file,extract and then overwrite files to system/etc. Go to settings again and choose standart and then reboot your phone. Please test this and leave feedback.

try again get fc
crashes when I try to launch it on my Galaxy Note (GT-N7000) (Android 2.3.6)
Tried the APP and no FC.
I can adjust color temp. Playing with other settings does nothing on my phone.
the IM2 movie plays pretty nicely on my note color banding wise. I only have some black clipping in some of the deepest dark areas at the end of the sequence.
Cannot test it

I went with values halfway between Standard and Dynamic. So only upped sharpness and saturation. Dynamic is just too much but this is a happy medium. My settings don't address black banding. Go with Movie mode settings for that remedy. But even then this app does not adjust gamma so it will only go so far

I only have one right now, and it is not really that excellent but I am going to be working on more and keep adding them of course.

To use the Profiles with Sixaxis, just unzip the file to the \sdcard\data\com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontro ller\profiles folder.

Thanks. I am running stock DPI at the moment. I used to run lower DPI on my captivate and really liked it so maybe I need to try on this one too.
Max Payne Profile added and a youtube HD video preview is uploading as well.
Maybe its my dpi, but Max Payne controls aren't all mapped. There is no jump or information/interact button.

For Max Payne very basic, left analog moves you around and right one is the camera control then triangle is for using the slow-motion then square fires and Cross is for jumping. I didn't add anything else.

I've made it so it's more like FPS controls on the PS3.
Fire: R1
Aim: L1
Reload: Circle
Pause: Start
Health: Triangle (may not work if you have more than one item in use)
Remember to check "Enable Gamepad" in the SixAxis settings.
Just remove ".zip" by renaming the file. It's not a zip file.

Stock DPI can mean anything.
I know you mean to say 320 dpi, which the NOTE ships with.
You should include it in the OP.
Anyways I wanted to ask what HD games are worth getting?
-GTA 3 and Dead Trigger are high on the agenda.
Is Nova3 captivating, or is it a little dull. Reviews on YouTube aren't so great, that's why I ask. What games do you need ChainFire3D and do they work smooth on regular setup (1.4GHz, any kernel/rom).

This is my first thread so please excuse me if I'm breaching any rules.
This is a Volume Boost MOD for SM-900 version of our beloved Note 3. You need a ROOTED Device!
MOD.zip is for a high boost and
MOD_Moderate.zip is for a moderate boost.
MOD_Little.zip is for a little boost. (This is intended to be in between Stock and Moderate)
Note that these are all relative and changes from one's taste to that of another.
This mod increases the Speaker volume when the speaker is on during
- a phone conversation,
- music playback
- Ringtones, notifications..etc
Additionally, there's a slight increase in the wired headphone during Music Playback.
1- BACKUP YOUR ysound.xml file under /system/etc. Then, Unzip the desired MOD provided in zip attached and overwrite ysound.xml file to /system/etc with the file explorer of your choice. Here, I used ES Explorer.
2- Once you're done unzipping and overwriting the existing ysound.xml file select the file then press "More" , then "Properties", then "Change" button for the "Permissions". Apply -rw-r-r-- for the permissions. Attached, you'll see the screenshots for the procedure.
3- Once you make SURE that you followed the instructions, reboot the device.
4- In case you want to come back to the original stock version of the file, either put back your backup or unzip the attached ORIGINAL.zip and apply the above 1 and 2.

PS. Please can someone find out and share what the line 3558 is for in the modded file that I attached? Thank you.

Yes, this MOD should work on all SM-900 models, including the Turkish SM-N9000Q. Mine is SM-N9000Q and it works flawlessly.
This MOD has nothing to do with the phone ID or firmware (as long as the device is SM-N900). Btw, you can easily change the phone ID.

I adjusted so that the music doesn't get distorted heavily. I suggest that you use it at around 90% volume as it sounds OK to me. Just try it yourself, start from 100% volume and come down gradually until you are happy with the sound.
I am pretty sure it is not gonna break your speakers, at least..

maybe you know if there is an app (without root) to encrease the volume?
I am coming from s4 rooted with sound mod installed and the quality is ok but the volume is too low (like s4 stock)...

Unfortunately, there's no way to use this MOD without root. There are other apps in Google Play but they work differently (if they work for Note3 at all). This MOD modifies the xml script of Yamaha.

If you are using ES File explorer, for example, you need to enable root function as well: Click Menu, then under Tools enable Root Explorer and click on it, then click Mount R/W, then select all those three items as RW. You're done! Now you can write/delete..etc

Yes, I know You can always edit using Notepad++ for windows. Search for the lines I added as comments starting with GURHAN_____________xXXXXXXXXX. Under that line you'll see the edited values. Decrease those values to your taste.

yes, it is possible. However, I don't have a BT so I cannot do it on my own. Just try to play with Bluetooth Incall NB settings.

Ok So All Of A Sudden, My Games (Injustice, Uno & Worms 2) Are Too Wide For My Nexus 5 Screen. I'm Rooted Running Cataclysm + Franco. Things Were Working Just Fine. Then I Installed Xposed Installer With 3 Modules (Swipeback, XUI Mod And XBlast) I Played Worms (After Installing Those Modules And Modifying A Bit) And Things Were Still Fine. A Few Hours Later, I Tried To Play Worms And It Was Way Too Wide For The Screen. Same Thing With Injustice And Uno. My Spades Game Isn't Too Wide Though. Oke, but somehow the resolution may have been changed, so check in your mods settiings if somethig has changed.

I Checked Again, There Isn't Anything In The Mods That Say Anything About The DPI Settings But I Give Up, I'm Just Gonna Restore My Backup And Start Over. Hopefully, If It Happens Again, I'll Catch What Happened/What I Did. Thanks Though.
Go easy on that shift key, friend. It's hard to tell where your sentences begin and end when you type like this and defeats the purpose of having capitalization in our written language.
I got a headache reading this. Where do people write like that? I'm curious. And you probably changed the DPI to something that the game doesn't support.

hi. i was wondering if it is possible to change the DPI of this phone...
i play a game called heroes of order and chaos and before this phone i had galaxy s2, where the screen was smaller, and it was easier to play the game cause the skills buttons were larger cause of the screen resolution.
is it possible to change the DPI? or maybe just the DPI of the game app?

Can you get root on the version of android you are on and edit the build.prop?

Yes there's apps to do it (like this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.texdroider.texdroider_dpi), personally I do it with build.prop myself. Find the line ro.sf.lcd_density= and put in the number you want, 240 is what I used to use but now I do 200. If you install Xposed, there is a module called App Settings that will allow you to do it on a per app basis, I use this on my roomies' S5 to keep the Sammy apps from borking.

where can i find this build.prop?
and is there a chance to the phone stay on bootloop after changing it? this textdroider i used it once on my galaxy s2, he stayed on bootloop for the first time i tried to turn him on after changing dpi, but then suddenly he started to working.but i did that on my s2 cause i know what i could do if it stops working.
i got this phone 4 days ago i still dont know so much about it so i dont want take risk, even so cause i already rooted my phone and i lost the warranty and i dont want to screw him up
i actually just want to change the DPI of the app. where can i find this Xposed?

The build.prop is found in /system and that is the file that textdroider would change, so whether you change it manually or through an app it will have the same outcome.
I've never had a bootloop from a dpi change on the Motorola, the S2 would be different because Samsung apps and Touchwiz only play nice with the stock DPI. As with any system change, you should backup if you are worried about it
