Phone/device ID for Exchange Email notifications: - Sony Smartwatch

I have my Sony Smartwatch paired with my Sprint Galaxy Note-2. Most of the ROMs I flash, the app Email Smart Extras by Sony for native or exchange email, this doesn't work. I will get a message "device not supported". However, there are one or two ROMs that do work with the app. For the roms that don't, I have to configure WatchIt to get the notifications, no big deal. But I was wondering what about the roms that makes the app work and the other roms that don't? Is it the device ID from the developer? The one or two roms that work, they have some other rom features that I don't like and that's why I don't use them, but would be nice to figure out how to make that Email Smart Extras app work on all roms.

--Exchange and Security--

I am in need for some despirate help! Let me start first with the problem. I am running CM6.1.1 and am unable to connect to my exchange email. When I fill the appropriate boxes with the correct information, I get an error saying:
"Setup could not finish
This server requires security features your phone does not support"
So my question is what security features is the evo missing? I was able to set up my exchange email without any problems on sense roms.
So now here is what I have done to trouble shoot and alleviate this problem. I have checked both boxes on the setup page "use secure connection" and "accept all SSL certificates" still no go. I have installed numerous different versions including a 2.1 version, 2.2 version, and then 3-4 versions with the security bypass. Still nothin. I have also tried improved email from the market, and you guessed it. Still nothin. lol I just want the stock email app to work for me. I don't mind the security features that come along with exchange either as long as it works.
I was using the trial version of touchdown for a while.. It worked. But I didn't really like the app and I don't want to pay 20 bucks for an email app.
So now Im going for the hail mary... One last try to find someone that may have the answer I'm looking for! Do any of you fellow friends out there know of a possible fix?
By the way I am on exchange 2007.
Thanks for reading!!
this is a known error with googles AOSP mail app which CM, MIUI and any other AOSP based ROM uses. currently only sense ROM's (I recommend MYN's,Calks,Fresh) mail app works with additional security features. My suggestion is to either download an app like touchdown (paid) or NAND your CM setup and flash any of those SENSE roms and wait for 2.3 to come out which i believe will work better with secure exchange environments

That's what I was afraid of... I don't think I could bear going back to a sense based rom lol... I've been running cm since before 6.1. Im just getting tired of logging online to check my mail! well it looks like ill have to live with it for a little while longer. Thanks for the reply!
no problem, you can't go wrong with Myn, calk or any of the well supported sense roms and you might actually like it the horrors

Some very frustrating issues that maybe you can help solve

Overall, really loving this phone, but there are some things that continually frustrate me:
-no 'favorites' tab on the phone app. Favorites exist under groups, but for some reason you can't put the favorites down on the menu to make quick calls easier.
-uploading photos to facebook using 'facebook for htc sense' often freeze part-way through, even with good wifi connection.
-Often times when I delete emails on the gmail app they still appear in my inbox when I view gmail on my computer. Also can't seem to make gmail automatically update upon opening.
-CALENDAR NOTIFICATIONS: Even when I turned off the facebook calendar sync so I wouldn't get 20 birthday reminders every day, the notifications still won't go away. Anything I put in the calendar pops up on the lock screen every single time, even the day before sometimes. Should I use a different calendar app? I like using the 'productivity' lock screen, but this "feature" is killing me.
I have been wary of rooting since I wanted to maintain my warranty, but some of these issues - plus the terrible multitasking - are really tempting me to do it.
Does anyone know of any fixes for these problems?
Short of dumping the One X and buying a new phone, waiting for official releases is the only way.
Otherwise, root and bootloader unlock is the way to go. Did so to mine and don't regret it. I have plenty of faith in the development of custom ROMs for this device.
if you don't mind, what did you do with root and bootloader unlock? This is my first android and I'm not sure what I could accomplish with that.
I flashed KingCobra on it.
I tried Cyanogenmod 9 for the AOSP experience but there are some bugs I can't seem to get rid of in order to use it, so I'm sticking with KC.
Overall, you get rid of bloatware, and can have more of the "stock android" experience. As of right now, at least... when AOKP, CM9 and other AOSP-based roms are out in full gear, you'll have more choice as to what you prefer. I'm really hoping that time will be soon.

Rooting your phone along with unlocking the boot loader allows you to run custom roms. Most roms out now get rid of most of the issues you are running in to. That's the simplified version...look around on the developer section and you will find the information on how to go about rooting and unlocking. Good luck...awesome phone!

hide SMS and Contacts for Windows Phone 7

Hello Team,
I always been a WM user, and finally got a hold of a windows 7 phone, did the required mods. i noticed i couldnt find a program like magic call which used to screen un wanted numbers and sms this tool was usefull and purchased.
I'm assuming there isnt a program close enough or the same for windows 7 phone, overall i would like to bar and hide certain numbers and SMS's maybe emails ( i guess im pushing it).
i noticed an andriod app called vault does excatly what i require. im assuming im not the only person after this app?
is there such an app paid or free?
thank you for your time.
The public APIs don't allow it. Some OEMs (specifically, Samsung) have used their extra control over the ROM image (specifically, the ability to add their own drivers) to implement a call blocking function, and I believe some custom ROMs also incorporate this. Additionally, there are people looking into doing it using unofficial APIs in a way that it can be used on stock ROMs, but so far no such luck.
Thank you for the return message; even with modified ROMS this feature is not available?
IF so which rom would allow this feature? overall i have a HTC Trophy which has been loaded with a modded rom.
It may look like i'll have to get a hold of the Andriod phone for now.
thank you in advance.
I don't use custom ROMs; I hack the stock ROMs (and yes, call blocking is one feature I'm working on). Read the feature lists of the various custom ROMs, looking in particular for "call blocking" or "Samsung gen2 drivers".
I'll have a look thanks, but noticed people are having problems running the Samsung app.

Need ROM Suggestion

Hi All,
I've been going to xda developers for quite a while and have been playing around with various ROMs (such as Liquid Smooth, Eclipse, and MIUI) but I haven't found one that has everything I want.
Basically I would like the following features on a ROM and was wondering if anybody knew a ROM that had all these features:
1. Call recording.
2. Battery saving when screen is turned off (4G LTE will be disabled, uses single core and underclocked,
3. Showing of the location of unknown phone numbers that are calling me based on area code such as showing Atlanta, GA when area code is 404.
4. Visual voicemail.
5. Contacts should be able to sync Facebook, Google+/Gmail, Skype, AIM, MSN.
6. Facial unlock.
7. AOSP & Jelly Bean based.
8. The following must work flawlessly: Voice calls, 4G data, Wifi, & Bluetooth
9. The ability to share multiple pictures at one time on facebook.
10. These apps must work: Gmail, Play Store, Facebook, YouTube
I think there is probably already a ROM out there with all these features but I just haven't found it yet. If you know which one has these features, please kindly give me your suggestion.
Thanks!

Well, at the very least it would be nice to have an AOSP ROM that can do call recording.

Have a look at the one PureMotive has going if you haven't already.. its pretty smooth thus far and has alot or most of the features your looking for.
Some of the voice recording apps on the store are perfectly capable of recording full conversations as well as other things. That's not something I do, but I've seen people confirm it here. Apps can sometimes add that feature you need.

If you're referring to the most recent Galaxy Mod one where it's Sprint based, I've tried it but the call recording wasn't there and the radio was really bad (I was getting 2 bars instead for 4 or 5 that I usually get).
Thanks for your reply anyway though!

JB ROMs dont currently have a working call record option (as far as I have read, they dont play nice yet), so as guthrien said your probably best looking at an app for that. And a little birdy told me that PM is working on and should be releasing a Verizon based rom soon.

[Completed] S3 Stock Dialer into 4.4.4 Roms like CM or OmniRom

Hello everyone
I need your help. I have a rooted galaxy s3. I really really like the ROM developed by XDA members but there is one thing I really hate is the default caller app. I think it's the most awkwardly application developed by Google, since the most obvious thing that should happen when you try to use the phone is see the keyboard, either to find a contact or enter a new number. But Google shows an interface where no keyboard, just a list of recent contacts. If I search the keyboard it does not arise or come after three touchs in special places, luckily I found. So I can not write immediately if someone gives me his phone number. If Google wanted to make impossible for such a basic thing, he did it.
The official Samsung ROM has the best app I've seen: Default leaves the keypad, next pages are history, favorites and list of contacts. All them big size, easy to use, friendly using.
I wonder if it is possible to use this application into a ROM like OmniRom or CM11, and how I could do it.
Thank you very much to all.
Have a great day.
The Samsung Dialer/Phone App is based on Samsung's propitiatory TouchWiz Framework. Its commonly referred to as TW. For this reason, the app will not work well on AOSP Roms such as Omni or CM. You can however find some Good dialer Apps in the Google Play Store.
Can you please post your Device Model and Carrier so that we can point in the Right Direction ?
