Hey guys,
I got my g tablet yesterday at sears.
I really interested to get the vegan mod it looks very cool. I'm new on these stuffs.
as you know VS just released a new update and I did update my device.
my questions are:
1-if I flash my g tablet with vegan or TnT 2.2 mods am I able to re flash my g tablet to the stock UI again? for example if VC release new update am I able to go back to the stock mod and update my device with this update?
2- after flashing g tablet with vegan or TnT 2.2 do I need to root the device to be able to access to full system file of it will be already rooted after flash it with any of vegan or TnT 2.2?
Thank you
if you install a new rom:
1. you will not want to go back to stock TapNTap provided by ViewSonic
2. You will not need to root your device, as the custom roms are already rooted
Actually, you can go back to stock Tap N Tap, using nvflash. See this post from Roebeet: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950
However, the updates from Viewsonic will always get torn down by Roebeet, Rothnic and other developers here and will be repackaged as a TNT Lite build within 24 hours of Viewsonic's release, so there's not much of a reason to go back to stock, especially when TNT Lite is basically superior in every way (at least, most of us find it so).

No you will not be able to get the VS updates as that is some of the removed sections in the Lite version. The reason was posted. The update manager sends your MAC address to the update servers very frequently in the clear.
However if you do keep the stock ROM you can always re-flash the device if you find the OEM ROM better. I will be shocked if you were to find that as the TNT Lite, and the Vegan are superior in every way to the the STOCK ROM.

It's fairly easy to go back, if needed. We also post all the latest firmware updates from TnT (even if they don't - still don't know why they don't offer them). See the FAQ in my sig for the vanilla ROM locations, and instructions on how to use them.
I made the decision to pull the over-the-air updater from TnT Lite, with the first release. From a security standpoint, phoning home in the clear with my mac address is a terrible idea. If Apple or MS did this, for example, the tech blogs would eat them alive. We usually grab the firmware updates pretty fast and post them. ie. the latest one is already posted.
Sorry for the newb question, but a search came up empty. Should I choose Vegan over TNT lite, is the install procedure the same? I see the step-by-step install guide for TNT lite, but wonder if Vegan requires different steps.
Thanks in advance!!!

If you install clockwork recovery you can easily try all the roms I have been using the vegan b3 release I like it but I use dolphin HD and skyfire browsers I don't like the native browser. Also I have used the tnt roms they are good too but as of lately really like vegan rom also if you back up your rom after you install you can compare stock vs custom. vegan roms download to PC drag to SD card rename update (at least on my vista PC) boot into recovery select apply update.zip and your good to go
What size SD card is required to fash with. I just picked up a GTablet for my wife for Christmas and want it running as flawless as possible before giving it to her.

Any as long as it can fit the 100MB+ Rom. The micro SD is used incase you screw up an need to reflash to stock. This happened to me, the external memory helped me fix it.
Oh and thank you Roebeet for your hardworking on the roms you and everyone/anyone that helped you make this device incredible!
So the TnT lite rom is 100mb?

I rooted my phone using 1-click a few days ago. Decided it wasn't for me, and unrooted today using the GB SBF file and RSD Lite 5.3.1.
However, after running SBF and RSD, there are a few things that i have questions about, regarding if the process was completed normally:
1. The custom wallpaper I had is still there. Is this normal? I was under the impression that when you ran the SBF and RSD that your phone would be back to the '"out of the box" state.
2. All of the downloaded apps I had are still there and running. Is this also normal?
3. All of the apps that I had frozen are back up and running. I assume this is standard.
So with all that said, does the RSD/SBF procedure essentially just unroot the phone back to how it was directly prior to rooting it?
Hi Friends,
First of all i am newbie to android
And sorry for my bad English.
I had bought motorola atrix 2 (Indian Retail as i live in India) recently and i liked it very much and i had also updated it with GB 2.3.6 through
Settings->About Phone->System Updates
every thing worked fine.
but when i installed Titanium Backup app it gave an error that it is not rooted
i don't know what is it so I had searched and found the details in youtube video
(since i am new to this forum i have no rights to give outside links so i am giving headings in Bold so if you search with google you can find the videos or Links, Sorry for the inconvenience)
How to Root the Motorola Atrix 2 running Android 2.3.6 by mastermind278
I had followed these steps exactly and so i got my device Rooted.
But still i got same issue with Titanium Backup.
so i had followed the other two videos posted by the same user (Given Below)
Installation of custom recovery on Atrix 2 (ClockworkMod) by mastermind278
And
Installing a ROM on the Motorola Atrix 2 (SuperCharged Atrix) by mastermind278
but i had done it without taking any backup
After i had completed with the Custom ROM Supercharged v5
i had checked the Titanium Backup which worked as it is rooted perfectly now.
But i dint like this and any of the Custom ROMs
so i wanted to Revert it to Stock Rom v2.3.6 (which is best to me as i am a newbie)
For that i have read and tried some methods from google and this site aswell
But most of them are confusing to me, except the below methods from
Atrixforums
Atrixforums--How to revert atrix back to Stock ROM
I had downloaded Stock ROM from
Droid-Developers SBF --> Motorola Atrix 2 (MB685)
Which is ( 5.5.1-EDEM-27-SEARET_cfc.xml.zip ) as my Device is Indian Retail
I had also installed RSDLite v5.3.1 Multi-Flash/Flex Tool.
But when i tried to boot my device to RSD Boot by pressing and holding volume up + power buttons
It is either hanging up with M symbol loading screen or loading the Custom ROM, no matter how many times i tried it is the same.
I might be missing some steps or doing it wrong.
so please help me with detailed steps how to revert my device with latest Stock ROM (Indian)
I will be very much thank full for that
THANKS IN ADVANCE
HAVE A NICE DAY

To boot into AP Fastboot you have to press and hold BOTH volume buttons as well as the power button!
I have been rooted and bootloader unlocked for a couple months now and last night I noticed my phone was randomly rebooting itself. Apparently the stock phone and contact apps uninstalled themselves as I no longer have them. Can somebody help me get them back?

in this thread here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504712&highlight=baseband) is a thread about flashing a new baseband. I need to know if someone can pull the baseband from 12.15.15.
heres the situation. I received a replacement device from Verizon today as the camera on my current maxx keeps failing to initialize (low and behold as soon as the new phone arrives, the old one starts working LOL)
Any who..i wanted to root the phone and then update to 4.4 and since this phone shipped with 4.2.2 i figured why not try Jcase's methods.
Soooooo i made the mistake of using House of Moto and flashing the 12.15.15 firmware over top of the current OS instead of flashing the update file. Big MISTAKE. the phone booted and was fine..except no radio. no signal. baseband was missing. completely. sooo i decided to do a factory reset. now the phone wouldn't go past the activation screen. So i searched out the forums and found the thread above. but I believe the baseband is for the MotoX and the revert that is posted is for 12.7.7.. either way..the flash was successful and the phone boots and runs fine.. However..upon trying to upgrade to 4.4 it gives me an error message about the modem having unknown contents. Which leads me to believe that the baseband i reverted to is the 12.7.7 not the one for 12.15.15. Now the phone goes right to AP Fastboot and says 'Partition (boot) Security Version Downgraded. If i can flash the correct modem files, i can then try and reapply the update. Im going to see if i can FXZ back to 12.15.15 again. but who knows if it'll work
Can anyone help me?

tried to FXZ to 12.15.15 but because the recovery has been updated to 4.4 recovery...it won't fxz. still gives me the security version downgrade error. Looks like i might have to wait until the FXZ for 4.4 comes out for the Maxx
And..(for now) the camera in my other maxx is working LOL sooo i just throw my sim back in that one for the time being. Hopefully the camera doesn't fail again.
