no you won't lose S-OFF
but you'll get a new hboot.. using fastboot commands won't work
So I'm going to flash this firmware.zip
Restart phone
Than back in bootloader
fastboot flash zip hboot144.zip
than fastboot boot cwm.img
flash super user zip, to get root again
than fastboot flash zip hboot155.zip
and I'll have stock firmware, stock recovery, hboot 155, s-off, bootloader unlocked, root and android 4.3
Thanks for sharing mate, flashing it now! :good:

Here's the deal:
I'm trying to create a system to flash the One X via fastboot.
Currently, my device has an unlocked bootloader (changed CID, used HTC Dev) and is running the stock 2.20.507 release.
Using 'fastboot flash system system.img' and providing the stock system.img for this build extracted from the rom.zip inside of the RUU does not work - I get an 'out of space error.'
Running "fastboot oem rebootRUU" and attempting to flash the ROM.zip that way provides the following error.

What does that mean?
Does that mean the version of Hboot on this device literally doesn't allow anything to be flashed to system?
Is it possible to downgrade to something older than what the device shipped with (1.14.0002) or do they have the same restrictions too?
I dont know what version allowed it or if any. Also wish we could run fastboot erase userdata

It's remarkable how useless this is. Thanks HTC for providing an "Unlocked" bootloader that is anything but.
Do you know what the earliest version shipped on HTC One X's would be? And is it possible to flash hboot by itself from fastboot (without screwing anything up?)
why not flash the ruu? what are you trying to do?
according to your picture you can't use that method because of supercid, it might work if you changed cid back to original

Well good question... there is a reason, and it has to do with an automated build flashing/testing system I've been assigned to work on. If it's impossible, I'll find another way (with a custom recovery), but I want to exhaust all possibilities and at least understand why this device is so 'picky'
think the problem is supercid, might work on devices not supercid. will unlock token work if you remove supercid on att htc one xl?

I know to do the HTC Dev unlock in the first place I had to change it...you think I should revert it, try the unlock token again? Is it correct that you have to relock the bootloader to revert the CID? Never done it before...

Anyhow I guess I'll try it, if in fact I cannot unlock again after doing that, I'll just have to re-SuperCID again to get back to my present state...guess it's worth a shot.

Glad you mention it. Will backup internal storage.
Cant flash update
Updated to hboot 1.55
Cant manage to flash the update doing it through fastboot and root SD card both no use..
it seems to be failing for the check when using fastboot, it stops there.
No TWRP or root installed.
Can anyone help? Ive been doing it all day and im still back at square one
--EDIT--
Easy peasy install if you DONT use fastboot
1)Flash new hboot
2) install twrp
3) flash rom
4) profit???
This is what I would do...flash stock ota, flash recovery and boot from the ota.don't root..then go to settings and check for update...then it should work...everything should be stock...

to get back your memory you just have to get stock recovery and flash it
than you need to get into bootloader and clear storage & factory reset
when you have that done flash your custom recovery(CWM or TWRP) again
Done!

I AM SORRY IN THE FIRST MESSAGE I EXPLAINED MYSELF WRONG.....
in the first message i say flashed OTA update, but i installed it through TWRP recovery (sorry for my bad english).
Before doing that i had stock ROM, android 4.1.1 and sense 4+: then i unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP and rooted, obtained the superCID and put on S-OFF.
After installing the "ota_ville_maximushd_10.0.0-10.0.1.zip" thinking it's the MaximusHD ROM i followed the instructions to flash the android 4.2.2 firmware.
Then my device has the issues i wrote on the first message (no radio and only 48MB of free space on sdcard).
I flashed the stock recovery, clear storage & factory reset, then re-flashed the TWRP recovery, but i am at the same point: device working, except for the radio and the sdcard space of 48MB.
I dont think i change the HBOOT, how do i check the version?

Hi Guys,
I am currently on saturn 3 custom rom, and I wanted to go to stock ICS and start new. Yes I found a topic to get to ICS using RUU but with S-OFF
Also I Found a topic to get S-OFF using moonshine, When trying to get S-OFF by Moonshine there is a warning that I should not be in ANY Custom ROM, What should I do first so I can install moonshine.
I am new in the forum so I cant post it in where moonshine topic exist. please someone help. I am experiencing hanging with this rom so i am fully decided to back to stock
If moonshine don't work for you, you can try rumrunner.us.
Make sure you follow the instructions!
In case, i offer also stock 4.1.2 roms for k2u & k2ul.

PS: thanks for your Saturn III, but I had a problem with the ROM, occurred twice, it stucked in boot logo the one with the saturn planet picture. and never gone to a usable phone, All I have to do is to factory reset the phone and delete all files. I happened twice (
This can have many reasons, but most people report its stable.
Anyway, i don't work anymore on this old base.
Follow the link in my signature, to get the links for stock rom, because i'm away from my pc. Look under Jelly Bean 4.1.2 roms.
But i doubt, you will have success with OTA update with it. Failed already for others before! I still recommend thr S-off way.
At least some words: rumrunner is confirmed working with Saturn III, so i guess you have to check your configuration.

Done with flashing the firmware.. But when flashing TWRP i got this message, what seems to be the problem here, I already did so many things in my phone and I cant remember some of it, I know before I can flash a recovery image.. Any ideas? Thanks!
does it something to do with tampered & relocked on bootloader? sorry i forgot already
Seems like I have answered my own question I am just not sure with it.. Now I am running on 4.2.2.. Thank you very much old.splatterhand!!
Really glad you helped me. Hope theres is nothing wrong with the rom..
I'll ask again when I needed, Thanks much again :good:
Yep, your bootloader was locked, so you couldn't flash recovery.
And the rom should be fine, because it was a backup of stock rom

Im just wondering since I got a phone which has a cid for asia HTC__044, is there any way i can flash the radio(is this for wireless connections? Correct me if im wrong) of this OTA?
http://fotadl.htc.com/OTA_K2_UL_JB4...2.14.707.5_release_3445776pznn0vdk5c0jhzu.zip
What are the consequences?
I got a little problem with my lte connection yesterday but i am still observing.
The radio in the firmware.zip is an asian radio, but i can't remember which version number or from which OTA/RUU it is.
As you are S-Off, you can give it a try.
You can flash a radio.img with fastboot cmd:
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.img

I am trying to flash the radio but fastboot do not allow me even if i am already s-off, this is what i get:
E:\HTC one\For 4.2.2\OTA>fastboot flash radio radio.img
sending 'radio' (32477 KB)...
OKAY [ 2.386s]
writing 'radio'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 2.421s

another thing ill just ask, just to be cautious, what if I flash the firmware instead of just the radio only? will it harm my phone?
If there is a chance it will not harm the phone, ill try it, just wanted to confirm it.
Thanks in advance!
It should be possible to replace the radio in firmware.zip with the new radio.
Open the zip, delete all except the android-info.txt and put the new radio in.

Don't think firmware gets updated
To my knowledge, TWRP does a nandroid backup. As you can read in the tag wikis of the mentioned tags (nandroid, backup), a Nandroid backup takes images of your partitions. It's not a backup on the file level, but on partition level. So it includes everything stored on those partitions. Doing a full Nandroid backup of your system thus includes the entire system, one file per partition. There are only very few things not contained, such as the radio-firmware.
